Chapter 35: Sutras are not passed lightly

"I know this guy, but Zhou Zhenhai is still playing...this at such an old age?" Wen Gaoming meaningfully touched the steel needle-like stubble on his chin, not to offend the truth.

"Have you ever heard of pedophilia?" Chang Tiancai leaned over and whispered in Wen Gaoming's ear.

"Why don't you just say that Zhou Zhenhai is so young, why do you want to say it so mysteriously?" Wen Gaoming replied.

"Superficial! Human feelings are very complicated. As the saying goes, love at first sight, love at second sight, and lifelong engagement at third sight. Otherwise, no one would say: 'Just because I took one more look in the crowd, it will last ten thousand years!' '" Chang Tiancai said with a look of displeasure on his face.

"Shut up!" Yuan Xingbang couldn't help but angrily yelled when he saw that the two people were getting more and more outrageous.

Although Chang Tiancai was "crazy", he was not stupid. He immediately realized something and gave Wen Gaoming a hard look.

Wen Gaoming knew that he was in the wrong and immediately became as silent as a cicada.

"Nephew Xi Xian, since you have seen through the nature of dynasty change, you must have figured out the solution?" Zhou Zhenhai asked with a smile.

In order to argue against Dong Mo, Xi Xingchen tried his best, made so much preparation, and talked about so many great principles. What he was waiting for was Zhou Zhenhai's words, so he smiled and said: "The rules of the game set by the Confucian sages have already been implemented. After thousands of years, everything is perfect. How easy is it to replace the old with the new?"

Then Xi Xingchen changed the topic and said: "But there are always more solutions than difficulties, but..."

"Just what?" Zhou Zhenhai asked quickly.

Xi Xingchen pointed around.

Zhou Zhenhai looked around and suddenly realized what he was doing. He returned to his seat with a hearty laugh.

"What's wrong with the two of them?" Seeing the two of them laughing and muttering, the gentle monk couldn't figure it out and had to ask Chang Tiancai for advice.

Chang Gaocai did have something in his stomach, and after a little thought, he understood the mystery between Xi Xingchen and Zhou Zhenhai.

"Have you ever heard of the story about Monk Tang going to the West to obtain Buddhist scriptures?" Chang Gaocai asked Wen Gaoming.

"I've heard of it! But what does that have to do with this?" Wen Gaoming was a little unhappy when he saw Chang Tiancai talking about him.

"It's a big deal!" Chang Gaocai said, "If Tathagata Buddha wanted to pass on the scriptures to the Tang Dynasty, he could just send an Arhat to deliver the scriptures to the Tang Dynasty, which would save time and effort. But have you ever thought about why Tathagata Buddha had to do this? Do you want Tang Monk and his disciples to go through eighty-one hardships before they can retrieve the true scripture?"

"The Tathagata wants Monk Tang and his disciples to know that the road is dangerous and that the scriptures are hard to come by. Only then will the scriptures obtained in this way be taken seriously." At this point, Wen Gaoming's eyes lit up, and his face showed understanding.

As Wen Gaoming said, no matter how expensive something in this world is, it is worthless if it is given to others for free.

Xi Xingchen knew this truth very well. Everything he said before was strictly just throwing bricks, with the purpose of drawing out the jade behind.

But how much this piece of jade is worth depends on finding someone who knows the goods.

There is a story told in "Journey to the West": The king of the Wuji Kingdom loved the good monk, and the Tathagata sent Manjusri Bodhisattva to help him become an Arhat. Manjushri turned into an ordinary monk, but the king did not recognize him. Instead, he soaked the Bodhisattva in water for three days and three nights, almost drowning him.

It can be seen that sometimes, it is very cheating to meet people who do not know the goods.

If Xi Xingchen throws so many bricks to attract the jade, if it is used on Wen Gaoming, he will definitely play the piano to others; if the target is Yuan Xingbang, Yuan Xingbang will nod his approval at most and not care too much; only if it is used on Zhou Zhenhai, he will You will feel that it is priceless and hard to find.

When you meet someone who knows the goods, you can’t just give them away for free, right?

This is like when Tang Monk and his disciples arrived in the Western Heaven, when Tang Monk went to the Sutra Pavilion to get the scriptures, the two venerables from the Sutra Pavilion asked Sanzang for personnel. Tang Monk was not prepared, so the two venerables smiled and said: "Okay, okay , good! If you pass down the scriptures to the next generation with your bare hands, future generations will starve to death!"

Tang Monk didn't understand it at the time, so what he got back was a wordless heavenly book. Later, Sun Wukong reported to Tathagata the matter of the two venerables asking for personnel, but Tathagata said: "The sutra should not be passed down lightly, nor should it be taken in vain."

The relationship between Xi Xingchen and Zhou Zhenhai is actually similar to the relationship between Tathagata and Tang Seng.

Tathagata has the true scripture in his hand, Xi Xingchen has the truth in his hand; Tang Seng wants to get the true scripture, and Zhou Zhenhai wants to get the truth.

The scriptures should not be passed on lightly, and the truth cannot be given in vain.

Xi Xingchen pointed around, wanting to tell Zhou Zhenhai: I am in jail now and my life is in danger. If you want to get the answer you want, you must save me first.

Zhou Zhenhai was not Tang Seng, so he obviously understood that Xi Xingchen was asking him for personnel.

After everyone sat down, Yuan Xingbang, the chief of the Discipline Hall, asked: "Mo Xi Xingchen, have you finished your statement?"

"The statement is over!" Xi Xingchen said with his right hand on his chest.

"Then you go to the room and wait first." Yuan Xingbang said.

"As you command!"

Xi Xingchen knew that the nine elders would discuss how to deal with him next, so he bowed to the elders and walked out of the Discipline Hall.

After Xingchen left the Discipline Hall, Yuan Xingbang asked: "Elders, how do you think this matter should be handled?"

"Do you still need to ask? Xiao Xi has done justice for heaven and eliminated harm for the people. Not only has he done nothing wrong, but he has made meritorious deeds and needs to be commended!" Wen Gaoming was the first to stand up and express his position, and another Nanmo elder also nodded in agreement.

"Elder Zhou, what do you think?" Yuan Xingbang looked at Zhou Zhenhai.

"I think no matter what Xi Xingchen has done, he cannot be killed!" Zhou Zhenhai expressed his stance.

"Why is this?" Yuan Xingbang asked with emotion.

"Because those eight people Xi Xiaozi killed all deserve to die!" Before Zhou Zhenhai could speak, someone outside the room answered.

"It's Senior Brother!" Hearing the voice, Wen Gaoming jumped up from his chair and ran over to open the door of the Discipline Hall.

Two people walked in one after the other. The former was about forty years old, elegant in blue clothes, and elegant in demeanor; the latter was in his fifties, with bulging temples and a sword hanging on his back. Although his face was tired, his eyes were bright.

"I've seen Juzi!"

The elders of the Mohist family saluted the scholar in green shirt one after another.

The two people who walked in one after another were Ye Feiyang, the contemporary mogul of the Mohist family who avoided suspicion, and Ximen Zhaixing, the chief executive of Nanmo.

"Ye really feels sorry for making the elders run around and work so hard for the evil disciples." Ye Feiyang smiled and clasped his fists at the elders, showing an indescribable gracefulness in his gestures.

"It should be!" The elders clasped their fists again and returned the salute.

After everyone sat down, Ye Feiyang said: "Elder Ximen and I heard the process of the court trial in the back hall. Although Xi Xingchen is my disciple, I still say that no matter what decision the Discipline Hall makes, it will never Intervention.”

Yuan Xingbang nodded: "Based on Xi Xingchen's confession, I don't think we can make a ruling yet!"

"Why?" Wen Gaoming asked anxiously.

"First, the oral confession is only from Xi Xingchen's family, and the authenticity is unknown; even if the oral confession is true, there are still some unknown persons among the people killed by Xi Xingchen," Yuan Xingbang said.
