Let’s talk about the serious stuff first, the reason why I want to make a speech——
The number of chapters and words in this book has almost exceeded that of my last book.
Judging from the data in all aspects, I can say that I have improved a lot compared to before.
Data such as subscriptions have already surpassed the previous book in the New Year. Now, even the final word count is about to surpass it.
And, more importantly, by now, I estimate that the book has reached about 20 to 30% progress.
In other words, my ability to plan and tell stories has also improved greatly.
I can tell the story more smoothly, my grasp of the rhythm has improved a lot, and the plot is rarely overdrawn.
This is inseparable from imitating and learning from squid.
I think attentive book friends will find that I borrowed many places from the original text of Squid.
Some are transformed into long sentences, some are spliced together, and some are translated into whole paragraphs... Even the chapters after Klein's arrival may contain more than 70% of the original text.
But I want to say that I am definitely not just counting words.
Before excerpting, I read it very carefully to understand the meaning and ensure that the semantics were consistent with my text.
In short, by doing this, I gained much more than simply 1 to 2 coins each time.
In this regard, I hope to get support from book friends.
Of course, when I am less stressed about updating, I will release free chapters again. There will definitely be some, but it will take time.
Let’s talk about the ability to tell stories.
The last book I studied was Tomato Big. In fact, the outline of the story is probably enough to write a million words, but after several serious plot overdrafts, I can only finish it in more than 550,000 words.
The story structure and description of Tomato are relatively simple. The focus is on upgrading, and the plot serves the upgrading.
When I got here, I learned about upgrading. Once I understood the rules and insights, I upgraded. The plot was so little that it was almost non-existent. Overall, it was not only uncomfortable for me to write, but also uncomfortable for my book friends to read.
I feel that Squid is quite the opposite. The focus is on the plot. Once the plot is in place, you can arrange for the protagonist to upgrade.
Therefore, I feel that my ability in constructing plots has improved a lot... Although it is still a bit lackluster, at least there is a plot.
In the future, I hope to continue to strengthen my abilities in this area and design multi-layered plots.
Let’s talk about the overdraft plot.
The reason for overdrafting the plot is that I can’t write it, so I can only skip it.
This kind of situation also exists in this book, that is, the part about Hoy University. Originally, in my imagination, I planned to write more about daily life on campus.
Ha, at the end of the day, I found that I had no idea where to start.
Other than that, I feel that I have a good grasp of the progress of this book, and I hope there will be no problems later.
I can reveal a little here. I have already thought about the approximate titles of the next few volumes. There are still 6 in total, so stay tuned.
Even if Squid opens "The Circle of Fate", even if he breaks me to pieces in the future, I still have to finish writing the rest of it.
According to this expectation, this book will have at least one million words, and maybe even 1.5 million words.
I think if I can finish writing smoothly, I should be able to write original works.
hope so……
Finally, let’s talk about something else.
Regarding yesterday’s stuck thoughts——
To be precise, a small plot was cut. Specifically, Sharon was invited to live on Williams Street.
Halfway through writing, I found it difficult to write in a reasonable and natural way, so I had to cut it off.
The trade-off is that the plot becomes slightly less relevant to the Temperance faction.
As for the Temperance Faction, I think that apart from Maric and Sharon, there should be only a few "Wraith Souls" left. Otherwise, the "Werewolf" trait would not be given to Klein.
Well, let’s stop writing here. Thank you to all book friends for your support!
