Chengyuan looked at the people present here, but he didn't feel any anger in his heart. He kept looking at everyone with a smile. Naturally, he understood the meaning of Feng Biwei and Nan Fenghan's words better than anyone else. As the most famous disciple of Zen School Yunmen, he actually inherited the mantle of Master Wen Yan.

At that time, the Sixth Patriarch of Zen Buddhism, Master Huineng, received the mantle of Zen True Transmission from the Fifth Patriarch Hongren. Because he was ostracized by his fellow disciples, he had to disguise himself and fled to Lingnan, hiding for more than ten years before he came out to preach again. Of course, it would take thousands of years for a genius like the Sixth Patriarch to emerge.

Because of the exclusion from fellow sects, the Zen sect has since been divided into two sects, the northern and the southern sects!

Bei Chan's epiphany has left traces, and the Dharma lineage has slowly withered since the middle of the Tang Dynasty! The profound meaning of Southern Zen is called Life Zen. Everyone can become a Buddha! Buddhism opened the door to convenience. Since then, the Zen sect has flourished due to the spread of Nan Zen's convenience and the lack of high or low thresholds.

Since the middle of the Tang Dynasty, Nanchan has been brewing in Lingnan for decades, and then gradually developed from Lingbei to Chu and Jiangxi. With the vigorous preaching and propagation of the Dharma by the disciples of the Sixth Patriarch, Nanchan gradually moved towards the Central Plains.

And because of the preaching work of the Nanchan Zen School, eminent monks from Jiangxi and Chu areas had the power to spread the Dharma. Believers and converts everywhere gradually followed him and rushed to study the Dharma. Because there are so many believers studying in two places, a proper term has been formed, Jianghu!

In the past, the green forests, cottages, rangers, and swordsmen all over the Central Plains collectively referred to the experience of walking in the Central Plains as Green Forest Heroes. Because of this blessing of the Zen sect, many people's believers are running around, so everyone calls this kind of going out to experience and study, also called entering the world!

The Sixth Patriarch later enthroned in Nanhua Temple in Shaozhou, Lingnan Province. Since then, Nanhua Temple has been called the Ancestral Court of Nanchan! The master had many disciples, among whom the five most famous ones were recognized as Nanyue Huairang, Qingyuan Xingsi, Heze Shenhui, Nanyang Huizhong, and Yongjia Xuanjue.

After the Sixth Patriarch passed away, Master Huairang first left Lingnan and lived at Tianzhu Peak of Ancient Nanyue and Prajna Temple. Later, Prajna Temple was changed to Guanyin Temple, and the Sixth Patriarch practiced the enlightenment method, creating the famous Nanyue Sect in later generations. In the early years of Tianbao in the Tang Dynasty, the master passed away in Nanyue Prajna Temple. Later, Emperor Jingzong gave him the posthumous title of Zen Master Dahui, and the world called him the Seventh Patriarch of Zen Buddhism.

Even today, the Nanyue Sect still exists in the world. They established Nanyue Hengshan Tianzhu Peak, but they rarely appear in the world. However, they are a major Buddhist sect as famous as the Northern Shaolin Temple.

The most famous one under him is Master Daoyi, who is known as Mazu, because the Nanyue Sect is truly famous all over the world because of Mazu Daoyi. Mazu initially practiced the Gradual Enlightenment method of the Northern Zen School. After being enlightened by Master Huairang, he became the most famous disciple of the master.

Because at that time the Sixth Patriarch’s lineage was distributed to several disciples. As the first disciple, Qingyuan Xingsi actually obtained the essence of the Sixth Patriarch. In fact, the reputation of the Seventh Patriarch was inherited by the Shenhui of Heze Temple. He founded the famous Heze Sect, and he and Nanyang Huizhong took the upper hand in the North Zen sect.

However, the disciples and legal system of Shenhui were actually inferior to Mazu, so some people called Dao Yi the Eighth Patriarch. In the hands of Emperor Jingzong, he publicly revered Huairang, the master of Master Mazu Daoyi, as the Seventh Patriarch of Nanchan.

Mazu didn't take this kind of appellation seriously, and he never distinguished himself from his fellow disciples. Because his family name was Ma, people laughed at him and called him Mazu. Later, when the Nanyue Sect respected Master Huairang as the founder of the sect, they also respected him as the founder of the Nanyue Sect and considered him to be the actual first generation founder of the Nanyue Sect.

So in fact, from the time of Master Huineng, the Sixth Patriarch, to the time of Nanyue Mazu Daoyi, Nanchan was once again divided into another lineage that is different from the Sixth Patriarch's lineage. Although Mazu later left Hengshan and went to Jiangxi to preach and practice Dharma, since then people have called Mazu's lineage the Nanyue Sect!

The greatest achievement of Master Daoyi is that he is the only master in the history of Buddhism who is outside the Buddhist lineage and is called the ancestor. Of course, some people think that he should be the eighth ancestor of Zen.

But it was because of Mazu's appearance that later generations have reached the present day, and five sects and six sects of Zen have been formed, which is what later generations call one leaf and five flowers.

The most famous one under Mazu is Master Huaihai, who created Hongzhou Zen. The name of Baizhang Huaihai is known all over the world. The most famous masters under Master Huaihai are Huangbo Xiyun and Weishan Lingyou.

Later generations highly respected Mazu, not only because he had magnified the Nanyue line, but he was also the most famous successor among the disciples of the Sixth Patriarch, and he had magnified the Nanyue line of Nanchan. What's more, when it was passed down to Huang Bo Xiyun, his disciple Master Yixuan returned to the Central Plains, restored the former glory of the Heze Sect, and founded the Linji Sect in Zhenzhou, Hebei Province, the Central Plains.

Master Weishan Lingyou, whose Dharma is famous far away, founded the Weiyang Sect with his disciple Yangshan Huiji. One sect inherited the mantle, and Mazu's disciples actually created two sects, which shows the power of the southern Zen sect. In the history of Chinese Buddhist faith tradition, it is an unparalleled event and legend. If Mazu's Nanyue Sect is included, there are three sects under the Sixth Patriarch.

Among the disciples of Master Qingyuan Xingsi, Master Shitou Xiqian was the most famous. He lived to be ninety-one years old and was a legend in this era. Although he also had many disciples, he was not as famous as his peers. Only later did it reach the Liangji generation in Dongshan, which was already in crisis at the end of the Tang Dynasty. Cao Shan Benji, a famous disciple of Master Liangji, founded the famous Caodong Sect.

Another famous disciple of Master Xiqian is Master Tianhuang Daowu. He passed it on several times to Master Yicun of Xuefeng in the late Tang Dynasty. Master Yicun passed it on to Master Bei, a contemporary highly virtuous teacher, and then to Master Wenyi, a famous contemporary master. Master Wenyi founded the Fayan Sect at Qingliang Temple in Jinling and became the national master of the Tang Dynasty in Jinling.

Of course, what is worth questioning for future generations is that Master Yicun also had a famous master disciple who was the same generation as Master Shibei. This disciple who participated in the practice was Master Wen Yan who lived in Yunmen Mountain, Shaozhou. He later founded the Yunmen Sect and was Chengyuan's master.

Master Wen Yan has studied many things, but the world has always believed that he belongs to the Mazu lineage. But what he taught in Yunmen has always been Xuefeng's method of righteousness. Why do future generations have doubts?

Because Master Daozong was a direct descendant of Mazu, and Master Wenyan became enlightened in his hands. And what Master Wenyan finally inherited in Yunmen Mountain was the mantle of Master Rumin, the Knowledgeable Saint Arhat. And Master Rumin is also an out-and-out member of Mazu's lineage, and is a disciple of Master Da'an, Mazu's second disciple.

He was tasked with passing on the Dharma lineage of two major disciples under Mazu, but the last one passed down by Master Wen Yan was the Dharma lineage of Master Xuefeng Yicun, a disciple of Xi Qian’s sect in Qingyuan. It really baffled the world and became the ancestral hallmark of the Zen sect. A public case.

Later generations thought that he was the leader of several schools during his travels, and later founded the Yunmen Sect in Shaozhou. It cannot be generalized that he inherited his dharma lineage. But at this time, Linji Sect, Weiyang Sect, Caodong Sect, Fayan Sect, Yunmen Sect and Nanyue Sect were already called the Five Sects and Six Sects in the world!

If Mazu Daoyi had really become the Eighth Patriarch, instead of the Mazu that people call him, I'm afraid the Heze Sect would also be in trouble.

Although it turned out that Heze Sect was later inferior to Nanyue and Qingyuan, Shenhui was still the Seventh Ancestor. Although the imperial court later came under the influence of the dominant Nanyue clan and revered Master Huairang as the seventh ancestor of Zen, from then on Daoyi was still Mazu.

Because Buddhism does not fight! Of course, because of Master Wen Yan's incident, some people secretly believe that there was a reason for it.

Because Master Shibei comes from the legal system of Master Xuefeng Yicun, he is recognized by Master Guo Yicun, and he and Master Wen Yan are considered brothers. Later, Master Shibei went to Jiangxi and became a Zen master. His disciple, Master Wenyi, was even more outstanding in his practice. He received great courtesy from the Southern Tang Dynasty and became another famous master after Master Yicun.

But how could the peaceful small court of the Southern Tang Dynasty compare with the original Great Tang Dynasty?

However, in his later years, Master Xuefeng Yicun accepted the prodigy Master Wen Yan as a student. No one knows whether Master Wen Yi in Jinling was unhappy at the time. However, some people still secretly speculated that Wen Yi was afraid that his status would be rejected by Master Yicun again because of the appearance of Master Wen Yan, so he was intolerant of Master Wen Yan, who also came from Xuefeng, and promoted Master Wen Yan everywhere It is the Mazu lineage.

In the end, Master Wenyan had no choice, because he was also a disciple of Hui Neng, the Sixth Patriarch of Nanchan Buddhism, and he also pursued the method of enlightenment. How could he fall into the emptiness of the world because he was entangled in the Dharma lineage. If this affected his practice, what was the point of taking refuge in Buddhism, so he had no choice but to flee to the vicinity of the Lingnan ancestral court.

Master Wen Yan, who meditated in meditation, studied Zen and learned about the holy Arhat Master Rumin. He once again inherited another line of true teachings under Mazu. Since then, he has risen to prominence in the prosperous Southern Buddhism Zen sect. He not only built the largest Zen garden in the Zen sect, but also repaired it. He went to Nanhua Temple, his ancestral home, and then competed with Master Wenyi of Jinling.

But now that both of them have reached Nirvana, and as Buddhist disciples, they don't show any competitive behavior on the surface, so no one knows the real reason.

As a disciple of Master Wen Yan, Nan Fenghan deliberately mentioned Mazu's disciples in front of Chengyuan and told Chengyuan about this public case. His intentions were immediately understood.

He folded his hands and chanted the Buddha's name in a low voice. Chengyuan's face was solemn and precious.

The misery of life is endless. There is a Bodhisattva who enters hell by himself with the intention of saving the six paths of reincarnation. The name is: If I don’t go to hell, who will? The evil ghosts in hell will not ascend to the Buddha’s path until their grievances are extinguished!

This is such a great wish, and it should be respected as the first wish in the world!

Chengyuan is not affected! Because he is just like the original Master Wen Yan, who has gained coveted by the master's brothers because of his sudden enlightenment. However, he went to the middle of Shu to preach on his own, avoiding the entanglement of his fellow disciples.

This time I came back to Lingnan just to worship the golden body of Master Gai. He exchanged verses with several of his famous brothers, such as Dongshan Shouchu, Deshan Yuanmi, Shuangquan Shikuan, Shuangquan Renyu, Shixing Ziitch, Qingliang Zhiming, etc.

Because I was passing through the Wuling area and headed to Sichuan via Yongzhou, I unexpectedly saw what was going on along the way and couldn't help but come to watch, and I actually encountered this kind of thing.

"How good! How good!" Chengyuan looked at the forty-eight golden knots, with a hint of pity in his eyes. As a Buddhist disciple, how could he not know the significance of this forty-eight golden knot to these practitioners.

Everything happens for a reason!

"If the great monk wants to stop everyone from catching this alien species, I'm afraid he will become everyone's public enemy! I don't know if the great monk has the willpower. If you have the mentality that if I don't go to hell, who will go to hell, you might as well take action to drive it away. Come on!" Nan Fenghan looked at Cheng Yuan nonchalantly, and his subordinates kept trying to reconcile with Wu Ni. Seeing that Wu Ni's mentality had calmed down again, he took the opportunity to test him again.

Taoism and Buddhism are not tolerated. In the Tang Dynasty, there were even several attempts to destroy Buddhism. Taoism has been highly praised by the court since the early Tang Dynasty, because Lao Tzu is the ancestor of the Li family. Even at the end of the Tang Dynasty, when the Tang Dynasty was declining, Taoism had not been damaged at all. Even by the time of the Five Dynasties, it had become the best belief among ordinary people.

The deep-rooted thinking makes Taoist priests always think that they are superior to monks. Although he was called an evil sect by the master, Nan Fenghan always prided himself on being a Taoist cultivator. Faced with the mysterious Cheng Yuan, the person who secretly hurt Wu Ni, he naturally would not let go of any opportunity to disturb his mind.

Moreover, Nan Fenghan's intention was very obvious, that is, he wanted to turn Cheng Yuan into everyone's enemy. Everyone here obviously wants to get this Golden Forty-eight Festival. Of course, Nan Fenghan will not count Yinjiabao and Lianyun Village. Those people are not worth mentioning in his eyes.

If Cheng Yuan becomes everyone's enemy, everyone will have more worries. If they are on guard against each other, Nan Fenghan will undoubtedly become the biggest winner again.

"Everything exists in the world, there must be a reason for its existence. Everything disappears in the world, naturally there is a reason for its disappearance! If you look closely at the word cause and effect, it is not common sense to speculate. A real person must have practiced for more than dozens of years, and he must be better than a poor monk. I have a better understanding. The poor monk would like to ask the real person, if everything is done deliberately, how many people can pay back the karma in the journey of cultivation, and can the practice of exploration really be so smooth!" Cheng Yuan smiled slightly and looked at Nan Feng and Han. Personally, those clear eyes are like magic, making people unable to refuse or avoid them.

"In my life, I killed whenever I wanted to, and laughed when I wanted to. I traveled across the rivers and lakes, enjoying my life, and never hindered my practice. Even if there were thousands of difficulties, I would never consider anything else in my heart. However, the great monk was only afraid that he would be another clay Bodhisattva in disguise. Come on, as long as these people take action, they will definitely take action to eliminate demons and protect the Tao with false intentions!" Nan Fenghan looked at the people under the moonlight all night long, with a righteous look on his face, which made people feel like this He is really a good person.

"That's a quick statement from the real person!" The Zen disciples did not have any delusional thoughts because of the blasphemy of others. Facing Nan Fenghan and Nan Fenghan, Chengyuan clasped his hands and saluted: "Although the poor monk has never thought about exterminating demons and defending the Tao, he is thinking that as long as he does not harm everyone's ideas and does not harm his life, it is the best outcome. !”

"What the great monk said is really thought-provoking!" Qin Zhuang actually put his hands behind his back. Although the silk mesh in his hands was still in his hands, he relaxed. Knowing that even without the Wujintian Silk Net in their hands at this moment, these people would probably not let this alien species leave. I silently mourned for it in my heart, but I felt a little more happy.

"Eh!" After listening to Qin Zhuang's words, Nan Fenghan wanted to stab him, but suddenly he looked at the golden forty-eight knots in front of Qin Zhuang and felt moved in his heart.

What surprised people was that Jin Forty-Eight, who had not reacted much, actually reacted at this moment. Suddenly he stared at Chengyuan closely, and even raised his head to utter a message as if he was about to rush towards Chengyuan.

Qin Zhuang, who had just finished speaking under a stone, felt that his palms were sweating, thinking that his loud voice had alarmed it. He felt uneasy, not to mention the four people behind him. Their position was facing this alien species, and looking at its movements and momentum, it seemed as if it was about to rush towards them.

People who stand taller can see clearly that this alien golden forty-eight knot is staring closely at Chengyuan on the opposite branch. I don’t know if it saw danger from Cheng Yuan, or if it wanted to send a warning to the person who had just used Zen singing to confuse him.

Although no one could see through the emerald eyes, the way it stared at Chengyuan, everyone knew that it would attack at any moment. Why is this happening? Everyone on the sidelines has their own concerns, knowing that Chengyuan must have done something to it. Otherwise, it couldn't have made such an expression for no reason only to Cheng Yuan, who arrived at the end.

Some people have enlightenment, others are meditating in their hearts. Looking at this tense scene, everyone knows in their hearts that the only thing they can do now is to be quiet.

In an instant, the place fell silent again, with only the sound of the spirit snake spitting out its message.

The sound was endless, but it seemed to be heard far away.

The sound was not only mixed in with the sound of horse hooves, but was actually clearly audible amidst the boiling sound of horse hooves. The voice was ups and downs, seemingly full of emotion, and the majestic and resonant sound made people's blood boil with excitement.

Where the smoke and dust came from, there were more than a hundred fast horses, all of which were fine desert horses, which was extremely rare in the southern part of the Central Plains.

The people on the horse were all dressed in green attire, and their young faces showed superhuman calmness. Led by a young man with a serious face, he came quickly from the official road. There was smoke and dust all the way, and strong winds all the way. It seemed that the momentum was soaring but not ostentatious.

From a distance, they saw the silent border city in the middle of the road, as well as the two people floating in the air like a gust of wind, facing each other with their eyes closed. Everyone had a look of horror in their eyes.

The transcendent posture of the two people in mid-air has gone beyond the scope of ordinary people's understanding. Even the masters in the world cannot appear in the air like gods without support.

Within the invisible and powerful qi circle, the two people's clothes were flying, and their long hair was flying wildly, as if gods were coming to the world. I'm afraid that when ordinary people see it, they will immediately fall to the ground and kneel in worship.

The young man at the head had extraordinary eyesight, and the people behind him were no ordinary people. Although they were inexplicably surprised, they were not frightened by the two people's super skills and retreated. Seeing the state of the two people, he waved his hand to stop the team from moving forward.

After looking around, he naturally discovered the injured people rescued from the border town, and his brows furrowed in thought. He glanced at Biancheng who was staying on the road, with a questioning look in his eyes. However, when he saw Biancheng's eyes blinking constantly but unable to move at all, he knew that he must be subject to some kind of restriction.

He was even more surprised in his heart. He looked at the two people in the air again and felt tremendous pressure. He had seen the top masters in the world. Although he couldn't see the clear faces of the two people in the sky, he felt a familiar feeling.

These more than a hundred people automatically and orderly approached the young man, forming a semicircular fan-shaped team to protect the young man. Everyone rode their horses and stood behind the young man, holding various strange weapons tightly in their hands. Looking at the two people in the air, they knew clearly that they were far from their opponents, but no one showed timidity on their faces, as if they were waiting for the young man's move.

The Qi circle in the air is the area where the two people's innate Qi is condensed, and their whole bodies are immersed in the graceful innate realm. Not only the body is vague, but also the facial features seem to be blurred. Bian Hao opened his eyes first, glanced at the team, and then looked at Yang Jiong opposite, who had also just opened his eyes.

"This young man is quite good!" Bian Hao's eyes suddenly turned sharp. The two of them didn't even need to speak. The use of sound transmission into secrets seemed to be natural in the Qiji circle. Looking at Yang Jiong's calm eyes, Bian Hao said lightly: "Brother Yang must know him!"

Yang Jiong did not answer immediately, but nodded slightly and glanced at the young man who was supported by everyone on the official road. The young man's energy was clearly visible, and Yang Jiong had a smile on his face. Then he looked at Bian Hao with deep meaning and smiled slightly: "We do know each other, but we are not familiar with each other! But the person he followed, Brother Bian couldn't be more familiar with!"

"Oh!" Bian Hao thought thoughtfully. Having reached their level of cultivation, a hint was enough to give him some prediction. Then he said: "Since it's Brother Yang who knows him and he's a good seedling, it's hard to blame a certain family!" Bian Hao actually sighed with a hint of sigh in his tone. Looking at the young man sitting on the horse, there was actually something in his eyes. A bit of mercy.

"The killing here just now was all caused by your leadership!" The young man was looking at the state of the two people in the air, and suddenly the faint voice of Bian Hao sounded in his ears. "What a good means, what a hero!" There was obviously a metaphor in his tone.

The young man seemed to know that he was facing two people. He did not pay attention to Bian Hao's tone, but was surprised how the other party knew that he had just led his men to ambush the Tang army. Seeing that the two people didn't say anything anymore, they knew that the other party must want to hear his explanation.

He bowed his hands and saluted the two people and said: "I have been away from Lingnan for a long time. I am lucky enough to meet an expert here today! It's because I am entrusted by the imperial court and currently stationed in Suizhou City. The killing just now was a tough battle predicted by both sides. The kid can defeat them one by one after using fire attacks. The method is not worth mentioning, but the mission is on you. Either he dies or I die. It is a last resort and the situation is very opportune. If the two seniors have any advice, I will sincerely accept the advice!"

Neither humble nor arrogant, his voice was sonorous. The chant just now was obviously coming from his mouth. It was the first time Lingnan had the new state of music since the new emperor Liu Jixing ascended the throne. Now he is the governor of Suizhou, and he has been following Pan Chongche.
