"The five colors make one blind; the five tones make one deaf; the five tastes make one's mouth refresh; galloping and hunting make one's heart go crazy; rare goods hinder one's movement. This is how the sage governs. It is his belly but not his eyes, so he goes to get this from others. Those who were good at Taoism in ancient times had subtle and profound knowledge, which was difficult to discern. If it is clear, if it is calm, it will be simple; if it is broad, it will be like a valley; if it is muddy, it will be turbid; who can stop the turbidity; who can make it quiet and clear for a long time; who can make it peaceful for a long time; if it moves slowly, it will grow? Those who maintain this way do not want to be full. The husband is not full, so he can cover up and recover."
"To the extreme of emptiness, keep stillness and sincerity. All things are working together, and I will observe their recovery. All things are returning to their roots. Returning to the root is called tranquility, and tranquility is called returning to life. Returning to life is called constant, and knowing the constant is called Ming. Ignoring the constant is delusional, and delusion is To commit evil. Know your appearance, and your appearance is Gong. Gong is Quan, Quan is Heaven, Heaven is Dao, Dao is Long, and you will not be perishable if you lose your body."

A knowledgeable person is not knowledgeable, and a knowledgeable person does not know. A sage has no accumulation. If he thinks of others, he will have more; if he gives to others, he will have more. Therefore, the way of heaven is beneficial but not Harm; the way of man is to fight without fighting."
