Song Zhong chose the Creation Academy, but because he was a mortal, he could not enter the academy in advance. He had to wait until February 1st to attend classes at the Creation Academy.
As for when he can officially join the Immortal Sect of Creation in the future, it is still unknown.
Nan Yi and Song Zhong returned to the inn as soon as they came out of the county compound.
In the whole morning, Mr. Zhao, Song Zhong's housekeeper, had already scouted out several residential houses for Nan Yi, all of which were not too far from Wuxiang Academy. They were just waiting for Nan Yi to make a decision.
Nan Yi walked around and selected the quietest house. After signing a contract with the Yaxingya people, he moved in immediately.
As for Song Zhong, he also went to rent a house near the Creation Academy, while Yan Qingyun stayed at an acquaintance's house in the city and made an appointment with Nan Yi in a few days before they went shopping in Nanruo Village Lingjingsuo Huafang City.
These few days are the time Nan Yi has left for himself to enter Taoism and practice.
He had already understood "Little Wuxiang Jue", but because the inn was noisy and it was inconvenient to practice, he had to hold back until now.
Now that he has rented a house and stayed in a quiet place, Nan Yi immediately started to meditate according to "The Secret of Little No Form".
The first level of practice in this life is refining essence and transforming qi, which is divided into three levels: storing essence, nourishing qi, and transforming mundane things.
Let’s not talk about the next two stages. During the essence storage period, the essence is to change one’s own constitution through the method of visualization.
Between heaven and earth, there are many sources of energy. Almost every law has a corresponding source and energy, which is not limited to the five elements of metal, wood, water, fire, earth, etc.
It can be said that all supernatural beings are born from Yuan Qi.
The so-called practice is also the process of attracting the source energy into the body and refining it into magic power.
However, among the many sources of Qi, there are many who conflict with each other. A monk can only choose one source of energy to enter his body.
But the source of spiritual power cannot be easily accommodated by a mortal body.
Just like Nan Yi's previous life, he directly energized the human body. Perhaps until the person was electrocuted to death, he would not be able to control the electrical energy with the physical body.
In this world, rashly drawing in the source of Qi will only lead to sudden death.
After countless years of improvement, the first step in practice is to change the body constitution.
After sensing a specific source of energy, with the help of breath sensing and visualization, you can slowly change your physique to make your body fit the specific source of energy, thereby minimizing the chance of sudden death when the source of energy is introduced into the body.
This level is called "hiding essence" and must be visualized every day to hide and refine the essence. It is purely a matter of water grinding and there is no trickery.
Ordinary students, such as teaching assistants like Qin Nanyi, can perfectly store their essence within three years, advance to the Qi-nurturing stage, and reach the middle level of the Yellow Rank, which can be regarded as outstanding performance.
Most people entered the officialdom after graduation and were able to advance to the Qi-nurturing stage with the help of official bodies gathering momentum and blessings.
Moreover, even if the essence storage period is complete, there is still a risk of sudden death when receiving the source energy into the body, but the risk will be relatively smaller.
Therefore, every year, there are many students in major academies, just like Bi Shengke, the magistrate of Nanshan County, who are qualified to introduce Yuan Qi to try to enter Taoism, but in the end they never dare to take that step because they are worried about the risk of sudden death.
However, this is also related to spiritual root qualifications.
The so-called natural spiritual root can be understood as the degree of connectivity of the nine palaces on the central axis of the human body.
Those born with perfect spiritual roots have nine palaces in their body, namely Niwan Palace, Zifu Palace, Xuanming Palace, Jinque Palace, Huangting Palace, Ruyi Palace, Chaos Palace, Creation Palace, and Xiyi Palace.
Just like a tree, the spiritual root is the trunk, which runs through the nine palaces and connects the heaven and the earth; the nine palaces are the nine branches of the trunk, which are connected with the Dharma seeds and can grow Tao fruits.
Those who are born with incomplete spiritual roots will not have all the nine palaces penetrated. When receiving the source of energy, the spiritual roots must be forcibly stimulated to grow and penetrate the nine palaces.
If you successfully hold your spiritual roots through the Nine Palaces while receiving the source of Qi, you have entered the Qi-nourishing period and can officially begin to practice Taoism.
It's just that the fewer the nine palaces that are penetrated by the natural spiritual roots, the more dangerous it is to attract the source of Qi. Almost every additional palace that needs to be forcibly opened increases the chance of sudden death by 10%.
At the same time, those who are born with perfect spiritual roots can easily awaken their innate supernatural powers naturally if given the slightest chance.
In other words, those who naturally awaken their natural spiritual powers must have perfect spiritual roots. There is no need to draw in the source energy to forcefully open the Nine Palaces to grow the spiritual roots, and naturally there will be no risk of sudden death.
Therefore, Nan Yi only practiced meditation for one day, experienced the visualization method of the essence storage period, and then started to attract the formless source energy into the body.
He concentrated, imagining that he was in boundless darkness. But darkness is not nothingness. We must continue to imagine that the darkness is filled with thousands of different air currents.
Then, the perspective moved upwards, as if looking down from the perspective of God, turning the boundless darkness filled with thousands of air currents into a wisp of formless energy, falling from the Niwan Palace into his body.
For ordinary people, it is undoubtedly extremely dangerous to draw the source energy into the body after visualization, or to start growing spiritual roots from the top of the head and penetrate the nine palaces.
However, Nan Yi was born with perfect spiritual roots, and his energy entered the body without any stagnation. It directly intersected with the "Dong Zhen" talent, bloomed all kinds of mysterious Dharma principles, and followed the spiritual roots into the Zifu Palace to complete the Dharma Seed.
Then the "Full Healing" talent also reacted, and merged with a ray of phaseless source energy to create a web of mysterious Dharma principles, and the Dharma seed was formed in the Chaos Palace in the abdomen.
At this point, the Dharma seeds have been completed, and Nan Yi has crossed the stage of storing essence in one step, reached the stage of nourishing Qi, and officially entered the Tao.
He sensed it for a while and found that his senses were getting sharper and could be called divine consciousness.
The process of monks penetrating the nine palaces and perfecting their spiritual roots is actually a process of deepening perception and developing spiritual consciousness. Just as the essence overflows by itself and the spiritual roots are perfected, it also enables spiritual consciousness to form on its own.
Nan Yi was able to seize control of the spirit-granting rituals from Xu Luo years ago because he was born with perfect spiritual roots. Even though he had not practiced yet, he could still relax his mind and access the spirit-granting rituals.
But now, after some visualization, Nan Yi's power of mental perception has been further polished and officially turned into spiritual consciousness after storing his essence and nourishing his energy.
However, during the Qi nourishing period, the monk's spiritual consciousness cannot be released externally and can only sense the body within the body.
Nan Yi did a little sensing and found that spiritual self-examination was somewhat similar to "Dong Zhen" internal vision, both allowing monks to find out their own situation. It's just that the perception of spiritual consciousness alone is definitely not as intuitive and thorough as "Dongzhen" inner vision.
But the monk's deep perception of his own body is still marvelous, surpassing the efforts of many martial artists over many years.
After further careful understanding, Nan Yi updated his own panel based on the newly acquired knowledge of practice.
