Xiyuan, Taiye Pool.
A dragon boat was slowly sailing towards Qionghua Island in Taiye Pool.
In the cabin of the dragon boat, there were several men sitting in Taoist and Confucian uniforms, including the Ming Emperor Zhu Youjian, the emperor's nephew Zhu Cixiang, the three newly appointed pavilion elders Chen Qiyu, Hong Chengchou, and Sun Chuanting, as well as the newly appointed Dianqianjun. The main town is Lu Xiangsheng.
Chen Qiyu, Hong Chengchou, Sun Chuanting, Lu Xiangsheng and other four people, each holding a manuscript, were all looking at it with frowns.
Zhu Youjian was holding a cup of tea and talking eloquently: "You are all my teachers, Confucian scholars who are familiar with the books of sages. You should know that the great way pursued by the sages has not been passed down to future generations." What the Holy Spirit has passed down to us is only the ideal of pursuing the Dao and what the Dao is... but it has not left any path for our descendants to seek the Dao.
Therefore, the Confucian scholars only know that there is a great road but do not know how to find it. Because the great road is difficult to find, they have to retreat from being a moral saint or becoming a saint in their hearts. Moral saints and inner sanctification are not the true road of Confucianism, but the escape after the road is hard to find. "
The so-called "dao" is of course the pursuit of the Tao of all things in the universe, rather than how to be a moral gentleman... Raising how to "be a human being" to the level of the "Tao" is a kind of helplessness in seeking the Tao but not being able to achieve it. Act of!
The essence of traditional Chinese culture and thought such as Confucianism and Taoism is certainly not meant to teach future generations how to be a gentleman. The Tao passed down by the scholars of the pre-Qin Dynasty mainly consists of a few things. One is that Tao follows nature, studies things to gain knowledge, etc. It just tells future generations where to go to find the Tao.
The direction is clear, but the method... isn't!
One is Heaven and Man One and Heaven and Man Two, which refers to the relationship between the way of heaven or the principles of heaven and the human world. The so-called Heavenly Way and Heavenly Principle are the source of all things and the Creator. The gods or creators mentioned in Western revealed religions are actually similar existences. However, the Chinese sages did not reach a unified opinion on whether heaven and man are one or not, but turned this issue into a topic for future generations to discuss.
In other words, the unity of heaven and man, the induction of heaven and man, and the laws of nature and human desires are all things that can be questioned, discussed, and denied.
Another one is to respect ghosts and gods and stay away from them - this one is actually also important!
This directly blocks the way of "God's revelation".
You can't have a winged birdman preach some scripture on behalf of God, and then anyone who doesn't believe it is a devil or something like that. This kind of thing won't become mainstream in China.
Who proposed the induction of heavenly beings? Dong Zhongshu. A great scholar of the generation, but he is incomparable to God, Buddha, Brahma and so on.
Dong Zhongshu... can be criticized! Zhu Xi can also be criticized! Even Confucius can criticize.
Therefore, whether it is China’s traditional culture or traditional thought... it is actually very easy to accept modern natural science!
After the spread of Western learning to the east in the late Qing Dynasty, the castle of Confucianism collapsed within a few decades!
The speed of this disintegration is actually very, very fast. The inheritance of 2000 disintegrated in a few decades. Still conservative? Still stubborn? But in the eyes of some people at the time, they felt that it was not fast enough, and that Chinese traditions were too old-fashioned and too stubborn... There was still a market for this idea, which actually illustrates the problem.
If we replace Tianfang Sect, Brahmanism, and Theravada Buddhism as the source of thought, haha...
Of course, Western learning in the late Qing Dynasty and Western learning in the 17th century are not the same thing. The former can crush Dongxue, but the latter is still very immature.
That's why Zhu Cixi came up with "Zi Lun Ge Wu Pian" to make up for the shortcomings of Confucianism's lack of "investigation tools".
Of course Zhu Youjian was familiar with "Zi Lun Ge Wu Pian", and he also knew that this "Confucius' Posthumous Chapter" would usher in an era of great prosperity of Confucianism.
As a Confucian scholar, Zhu Youjian certainly did not want to let this era of Confucian prosperity disappear in his own hands. He even wanted to use the publication of "Zi Lun Ge Wu" to boost the hearts of scholar-bureaucrats, establish his own authority, and at the same time distract the attention of famous Confucian scholars who liked to criticize government affairs to gain fame.
Because no matter how powerful the criticism is, it cannot compare to a small breakthrough in the study of things to achieve knowledge and the way of nature!
Zhu Youjian sighed: "We Confucian scholars all know that in his later years, the sages have been searching hard for the Tao, hoping to find a way to see the great road. Even if they find it in the morning and die at night, they can rest in peace.
In fact, the late sage had already found a way to leave this legacy of Confucius, but before he had time to pass it on to his students, he returned to the Dao... And the legacy he handed down is Lost in the troubled times that followed. There are only fragments left in the underground to accompany the ancestors and the saints. During the Mongolian and Yuan Dynasties, Faqiu Daru Hua Chi Yelu Chucai, who was granted the title of Kublai Khan, obtained it while digging the Konglin! And what you are holding in your hands is a copy of the remaining fragments of Confucius’ final works..."
"Faqiu Daru Hua Chi Yelu Chucai?" Chen Qiyu was stunned, "Has Yelu Chucai ever done this before?"
"Of course I have done it!" Zhu Youjian nodded, "I am the Great Khan of Mongolia, how could I not know this? When Kublai Khan and Ali Buge were fighting for the throne, Li Fen from Shandong returned to the Song Dynasty and gave Kublai Khan This caused great pressure. In order to raise military pay, Kublai Khan appointed his confidant Yelu Chucai as Faqiudalu Huachi... He robbed tombs and obtained treasures to raise military expenses. And Yelu Chucai robbed the Kong Lin dug up the tombs of many descendants of Confucius, including Shu Shenggong, and recovered countless treasures, including the bamboo slips of Confucius's posthumous chapter. This posthumous chapter was later passed down in the Mongolian Khan's house, and finally followed by Hu I got it only after we arrived at Guihua City with Tu Dun Khan."
Well, now Kublai Khan has smeared Zhu Youjian and turned into a prolific enemy! And there is no way to deny it. Because this is officially certified by the Mongolian Khanate, if it says you are, you are!
Zhu Youjian laughed and said: "This is the gateway to the great road! Being acquired by me shows that I am the one destined by destiny! What do the four gentlemen think?"
This person is really thick-skinned. He said that his destiny was destined... However, Chen Qiyu, Hong Chengchou, Sun Chuanting, Lu Xiangsheng and other four people also had to admit that the Confucius posthumous works in their hands were indeed the door to the great road. Therefore, no one doubts that this "Confucius' Legacy" is a forgery... Even Zhu Youjian himself believes that there is a "Confucius' Legacy" buried under the Confucius Forest in Qufu.
But he has no way to dig it!
So he could only make up stories, but he wasn't afraid of being exposed. Because the principles in "The Legacy of Confucius" are all true and profound, and it is impossible to falsify them!
Chen Qiyu, Hong Chengchou, Sun Chuanting, and Lu Xiangsheng also believed Zhu Youjian's words.
This is the door to the avenue!
Just holding it in the hands of the four of them!
This means that the historical status of Confucianism can be said to be within easy reach for them.
Because as long as you use the methods in Confucius's posthumous works to find the way of nature, it is relatively easy to make a breakthrough. This is much better than trying to get into trouble with the Four Books and Five Classics!
And if you achieve something in the way of nature, you are a great Confucian!
"Your Majesty can obtain the great path of Confucianism, it is naturally his destiny!" Hong Chengchou's hand was trembling a little when he touched Confucius's last chapter - so excited!
He has read the last chapter of Confucius. Although he did not understand it, he knows the stuff! Know that what you are holding in your hands is part of the avenue!
"It has been many years since anyone in Confucianism has been able to get a glimpse of the Great Way..." Lu Xiangsheng burst into tears. "Once this book is published, there will be an endless stream of people who can get a glimpse of the Great Way!"
Sun Chuanting also said: "Your Majesty is destined to obtain this book on the Great Dao... Once this book is published to the world, all the scholars in the world will be blessed."
At this point in his words, eight eyes were directed at Zhu Youjian - this is the legacy of the sage and must not be buried!
Zhu Youjian laughed and said: "I have planned to use the opportunity of this southern expedition to make Confucius's posthumous works public... The reason why I have not made it public in the past two years is because I want Mr. Kong to study it carefully. After it is confirmed that it is not a forgery, it will be announced to the public. Mr. Kong is on Qionghua Island concentrating on studying the "Posthumous Works of Confucius"."
