The book is finished. It took me one year, six months and twenty-three days to write it.
Fathead Fish sincerely thanks every book friend, whether they are those who read it in the early stages or those who stayed with me until the end.
The new book will definitely be published, and it won’t be long... I’ll leave this matter for last.
Let me first summarize myself and "Earth Gene Integrator".
1. Let’s talk about this book:
——First of all, Fathead Fish honestly admitted that the ending was a bit rushed!
I remember the reason why I cut it off in the previous book was because the stall was too big. I wanted to write multiple protagonists and multiple main lines, giving it the epic feel of Game of Thrones, but I couldn’t control it with my writing skills.
As this book proceeds in a single line, the structure should not collapse.
But there are some problems with the setting... I remember the original idea for this book was to write about genetic fusion, a protagonist who combines the skills of various earth creatures, and a hearty battle...
Watching the video of Guigu Hidden Dragon on Bilibili, I often feel that the creatures on earth are epic in themselves... There are so many creatures that have evolved so magically that if they are slightly strengthened, they would be interesting to fight with.
But I realized later in the writing process that there was a loophole in this setting, at least I didn't make up for it well... that is, once the gene fusion becomes too complicated to be too far away from the actual living thing, the sense of immersion will be lost.
Continuing to link to living things will make it difficult to make sense of logic... and not linking to living things will deviate from my original intention.
This is also the reason why the protagonist was forced to speed up the pace in the later period, and also the reason why many established battle events in the outline were omitted... The battles of earth creatures that are divorced from reality will give people a strong sense of repetition and boringness. If you write too much, it will be boring. The word count is up.
Of course, the loss of readers caused by the discontinuation of updates and the decline in one's own enthusiasm are also problems... In addition, there are also some off-site factors that cannot be mentioned, so I won't go into details.
Anyway, it’s really fast forward to the finale.
2. Tell me about yourself:
Self-control is an old problem for fat-headed fish. This time I won’t use part-time writing as a shield.
After all, the interruptions caused by working overtime at work... are probably not as much as those caused by laziness!
Like the previous book, the middle and later stages of this book fall into a vicious cycle of "interruption-anxiety-cavin-interruption". Instable updates will lead to loss of readers, which will make you less inspired and motivated.
In order to force myself out of the vicious cycle, I have made many attempts, such as updating my status in the book review area, live broadcasting code words, posting the next day's preview every day in the book club, and so on.
The effect is there, but because it is not systematic, it cannot play the role of long-term supervision of oneself. If I persist, I will not continue.
And what did you say?
Deadline is the primary productive force...but a deadline that you can decide yourself is not a deadline at all.
So for the next book, Fathead Fish wants to be more integrated into the readership circle and the authors, and actively contact the editor... to use external force to supervise himself.
When the time comes, a complete set of plans will be posted together with the first chapter.
It's true... If you always think that writing is a part-time job, you won't be able to actively invest enough energy and time in this field, and you won't be able to create enough bonds with people in this field...
You won’t not go to work for no reason, because your boss will ask, your colleagues will ask, and your customers will ask.
But you are working part-time jobs...if you say you don't want to go, you won't go, and you feel confident about it.
In the next book, Fathead Fish will regard writing as his main job, not one of them.
3. Finally, let’s talk about the new book.
The time to release the new book should be around the Spring Festival...the subject matter is already available, and Fathead Fish quite likes it.
The background of the new book will no longer be unclear from reality. The fictional background also has a greater degree of freedom.
When reading this book, make some demands for yourself:
1. The tone is relaxed, making it easy for everyone to read without any burden. 2. The character description must be strengthened and must be improved than it is now. Try to create a few characters that readers will not forget even if they forget the plot. 3. From a day-light person to a person who saves contributions, let everyone supervise the number of contributions to ensure stable updates.
Finally, I would like to thank my book friends again and see you in the next book~
