There are some stones on the edge of Gangcheng. During ancient wars, the people here set up suspicious formations to defend themselves against foreign enemies. Part of it is the original natural stone, and part of it is the stone that was piled up later.
One weekend, Gao Zhouzhi, Luo Shao, Yejiazhen, Yang Yuling and others visited the stone formation.
This place is a place of interest in the town.
The shapes of the stones are different, some are like towering peaks, some are like sloping cliffs, and some are like flat hills. They are arranged together in an orderly manner, forming a spectacular picture.
The main stone of this stone formation is a huge stone with a rough texture on the surface, showing traces of natural weathering. The main stone is surrounded by some smaller stones, which are either stacked together or placed on the sides of the main stone to form a layered stone group. There are also some grasses and low shrubs growing among the gaps between the stones, adding a touch of life to the entire rockery.
Ye Jiazhen said: "Do you know how this array is arranged?"
Luo Shao said: "Based on the characteristics of Bagua, I think it should be arranged like this."
Kun (southwest): This direction is the earth, which carries things and is also responsible for tranquility. Here, troops were stationed on the defensive in pre-established barracks. Kun position deployed heavy troops, adopted a defensive strategy, and waited for the enemy to enter the formation.
Kan (North): Kan is water. In this position, the army lurks in a pond or river, using the current as cover. The mission of the ambush troops is to disrupt the enemy's formation and distract the enemy's attention.
Gen (Northeast): Gen is a mountain. This position symbolizes cessation and prevention. Gen positions are usually set up with obstacles or traps to block the enemy's progress.
Shock (Eastern): Shock is thunder. This position symbolizes thunder and lightning, representing action and attack. The main attack force is usually stationed at the earthquake position, and they will use the gaps in the obstacles to launch surprise attacks and charges.
Xun (southeast): Xun is the wind. This position symbolizes entry and penetration. Xun positions are usually equipped with fog or smoke screens to prevent enemies from seeing clearly what's ahead. At the same time, there are also surprise troops ambushed here to conduct surprise attacks on the enemy.
Li (South): Li is fire. This direction symbolizes brightness and magnificence. Bright signals or flags are usually set up outside the position to attract the enemy's attention. At the same time, there are also scouts stationed here to observe the enemy's situation.
Dui (Western): Dui is Ze. This direction symbolizes joy and comfort. Redemption usually has dummies or illusions to lure the enemy into a preset trap.
Qian (Northwest): Qian is the sky. The gan position is usually where the general is located and is also the command center. The terrain here is usually higher and has a wide field of vision, making it easy to observe the enemy's situation. At the same time, elite reserves are also stationed at the Gan position, ready to support battles in other directions.
Yejiazhen said: "But it's all stones, there are no rivers or mountains."
Gao Zhouzhi said: "The "Bing Lue Compilation" explains that Wuhou's eight formations are the eight formations of heaven, earth, wind, cloud, dragon, tiger, bird and snake. Later generations further diverged on the basis of this statement. They are named respectively as the Sky-covering Formation, the Earth-carrying Formation, the Wind-rising Formation, the Cloud-Climbing Formation, the Dragon-Flying Formation, the Tiger-wing Formation, the Bird-Flying Formation, and the Snake-pan Formation."
Yang Yuling said: "The author of "The Study of Zhuge Liang's Eight Formations of Fishes" restored the Eight Formations of Fishes restored from "Wu Bei Zhi", which is the most famous Eight Formations of Fengjie Water and was also the subject of Du Fu's "Eight Formations". The eight sub-formations of sky, earth, wind, cloud, dragon, tiger, bird, and snake are each composed of 6 squads. The general in the middle is a 4×4 square formation composed of 16 squads, and 24 teams of rangers cruise in front of the formation. , and arranged horses and deer antlers outside the formation as obstacles to block the enemy."
Ye Jiazhen said: "You are talking about the soldier phalanx. This is the stone formation."
Luo Shao said: "Let's go in and take a look."
In the first place, you can see that the road is relatively straight, but you have to go back and forth, walk over, and come back.
Yejiazhen said: "Xiumen. Xiumen is on the ridge, which is for rest and recuperation. The characteristics of the stone are that it is horizontal and vertical, the road is relatively long, and there are no twists and turns."
In the second place, some stones have a surface as smooth as a mirror, like a piece of calm water, reflecting the surrounding scenery. Some stones are uneven and have different shapes, like paintings carved by the wind, full of movement and vitality. Some stones are rich in color, just like a painter's palette, full of subtle changes in various colors. Some stones have been tempered by the wind and turned into pebbles. Some rocks have various forms of moss growing on them.
Ye Jiazhen said: "The biggest feature of Shengmen is its development, and there is a high probability that it will not remain the same. The stones change a lot and are all kinds of strange."
In the third place, I was just looking for a way at first, but I saw a gap next to it. Some huge stones may be affected by various geological processes during the formation process, resulting in some gaps, caves, etc. inside or on the surface. These crevices and caves sometimes serve as natural hiding places. Some are composed of many small stones.
Ye Jiazhen said: "Shangmen means injured, and Shangmen corresponds to the Zhen Gua. There are gaps in the stone, and soldiers are hidden. The soldiers will rush out from inside and attack them unprepared."
At the fourth place, the road becomes winding and winding, making it difficult to distinguish between east, west, north and south. Sometimes I am about to reach the exit, but then I am walking away from the exit.
Yejiazhen said: "Dumen. Du means blocking, such as there are embankments and railings. The stones are arranged in a zigzag manner, making it difficult to pass quickly."
In the fifth place, there are many forks. If you want to find the exit, you need to mark the forks. If you can't go through one path, then go back to this fork and take the second path. But every fork in the road branches off into several more forks.
Ye Jiazhen said: "Jingmen can represent a beautiful or glamorous appearance. If the Jingmen is away, the enemy troops will be easily divided into multiple routes."
In the sixth place, I walked to a relatively narrow place. Next to it is a high stone wall. It turns out that many traps have been carefully laid here, like snakes hiding murderous intent. Cleverly hidden between stone and earth, these traps are extremely difficult to spot. Some of them are lightly covered with dead branches, blending in with the color of the surrounding land, while some pits are covered with messy straw and floating soil, making them invisible in a hurry. It's just that in modern times, they have been replaced by obviously visible devices, and introductions have been given.
Ye Jiazhen said: "The Gate of Death, which corresponds to the Kun hexagram, leads the enemy to a closed place, making it easy to besiege them."
At the seventh place, there were two forks at the entrance. Everyone split into two paths and walked forward separately. They all walked a long way, but at the end they found that they merged together.
Ye Jiazhen said: "Jingmen corresponds to the Dui hexagram. According to the road, the soldiers will be divided into two groups, but after a long walk, they will merge into one."
The eighth place. It is easy to overlook this entrance when walking from many places. After entering from the entrance, you will find a relatively wide area.
Ye Jiazhen said: "Open the door and respond accordingly. The main force is hidden here."
"You know a lot about Bagua and Bagua array."
"We in China should know something about it. Besides, I live in Gangcheng, so I am naturally familiar with the stone formations here."
