Shi Jingtang issued a consolation edict, saying that of course he chose to forgive him, and to appease all the soldiers and civilians of Weizhou from Fan Yanguang on down. Fan Yanguang led his men in plain clothes (guilty men) to kneel outside the camp gate to receive the edict.
Fan Yanguang sent Li Shi, the deputy envoy of Jiedu, to visit Bianzhou to apologize and present a jade belt as tribute.
Shi Jingtang appointed Liu Churang to temporarily act as the military official in Weizhou; he demoted the imperial system and restored all of Fan Yanguang's official titles (which he had been deprived of on the day of his rebellion), and moved him to Yunzhou in accordance with the surrender agreement.
There is a lot of fun in reading original historical books. For example, I like to read edicts and documents written after major events. Here’s why:
First of all, although these articles were issued in the name of the emperor, the actual authors were Hanlin bachelors and zhizhigaomen of the Hanlin Academy. In other words, they were the top composition masters in the country at that time, with first-class level. Because it is to be issued in the tone of the emperor, it cannot be too vulgar. Both the writing style and the artistic conception must be in line with elegance and positive energy. Therefore, these articles are often high-level and well-written.
Secondly, to us today, the first impression of these articles may be that they are obscure and difficult to understand. That is because "we" are ignorant. Because these great talents often quoted classics and concisely summarized them, usually four or six sentences of parallelism, and they were consistent with one sentence and one allusion. This allusion was condensed in four words. We analyzed an edict before, and it was actually hidden in four words. Two allusions. If you don’t have a particularly in-depth understanding of traditional culture and classics and history, you will certainly not understand what is said. Once you understand it, you will be amazed and impressed by the ancients.
Finally, it was "I will just watch you pretending to be B quietly," watching the ancients talk serious nonsense.
Today's developed network allows us to stand on the shoulders of giants, so that an ordinary middle school student can read it. At that time, the emperor needed to have several people around him who were responsible for "translating" memorials from courtiers, such as the Duanming Palace bachelor appointed by Emperor Mingzong Li Siyuan. Otherwise, he really couldn't understand what the minister was saying, and he didn't know what the Hanlin bachelor asked him to say.
Let’s take a look at Shi Jingtang’s pardon letter for Fan Yanguang:
"I have just ascended to the Great Treasure. I haven't calmed down in the Central Plains. It took me six flights to reach the capital, but I haven't reached my arms even though I am thousands of miles away."
——I have just ascended the throne, and the hearts of the people in the world are not yet stable. Aiqing has some small thoughts, it's normal, don't blame yourself too much.
"The king of Chu asked for old things, but he left his hairpin; Zengzi passed on doubts, and suddenly he threw them into a tree."
——The posture is high. The upper and lower sentences use the allusions of "The King of Chu Jueying" and "The Great Mother Throws a Tree" respectively.
The previous sentence said that King Zhuang of Chu once hosted a banquet for his ministers. Suddenly a gust of wind blew out the lighting candles. The room was dark. A concubine complained to King Zhuang of Chu that someone among the ministers was taking advantage of the dark light to make trouble. He started to use his hands and feet on me, and I had an idea and pulled off his hat tassel. After lighting the lamp, I would kill the one whose hat tassel was broken.
After hearing this, King Chuzhuang immediately ordered everyone to take off their hats, then light the lamps, and the feast continued as before. Don't pursue the matter at all. Three years later, the Chu State and the Jin State were at war. There was a general who was extremely brave and charged at the forefront of every battle. In the end, the Chu State won the war.
King Zhuang of Chu came to the general and expressed his doubts, saying that I have never treated you favorably, so why are you so desperate?
The general lowered his head and said frankly and guiltily: "I am just the same bastard three years ago..." In order to repay King Chuzhuang for being open-minded, he was willing to kill himself to repay the favor.
The next sentence is about Zeng Shen's mother hearing rumors that her son had killed someone outside. One person said that she didn't believe it, and two people said that she still didn't believe it and continued to weave as it was. But when more and more people said this, Zeng's mother finally believed it, so she threw away the machine and climbed over the wall. escape.
Shi Jingtang compared himself to the king of Chuzhuang, and compared Fan Yanguang to the general. Although you have a history of bad deeds, I still forgive you and hope that you can change your past and retaliate again in the future; at the same time, explain to him that I completely believe in you and will not "make a tiger out of three people". Neither of us believes in three people. When a man becomes a tiger, he should ignore rumors.
Although Fan Yuanguang was not blamed and only moved to another town, the imperial court must cut off Fan Yanguang's wings to prevent him from continuing to cause trouble in Yunzhou.
Therefore, all of Fan Yanguang's former officials and disciples were promoted to other areas to serve as governors, regiment training envoys, defense envoys, etc., making Fan Yanguang of Yunzhou a polished commander.
Among the list of people who were rewarded and dismissed, there was a man named Li Yanxun who was appointed as Sikong, Inspector of Schools, and Governor of Fangzhou. He was widely questioned. Shi Jingtang's ministers urged Shi Jingtang to kill this person because of this. People belong to the category of "heinous people".
Li Yanxun was a native of Xingzhou and a temporary worker of the local government. He was a shameless gangster. Li Siyuan once sat in Xingzhou. Li Yanxun was flattering and flattered Li Siyuan. After Li Siyuan came to the throne, , promoted him and later arranged for him to visit Dongchuan.
As soon as he entered the country, he angered Dong Zhang, the governor of Dongchuan, for his misbehavior. Dong Zhang arrested one of his followers. Li Yanxun was so frightened that he fled back overnight. Later, Dong Zhang rebelled in Dongchuan, and Li Siyuan appointed Li Yanxun as the infantry supervisor and followed Shi Jingtang to attack Dong Zhang.
During Li Congke's period, he moved to Heyang Marching Sima.
When Zhang Congbin rebelled from Heyang, Li Yanxun joined the rebels and participated in Zhang Congbin's rebellion. After Zhang Congbin's defeat, Li Yanxun fled to Weizhou and joined Fan Yanguang's rebellion. Fan Yanguang appointed him as the commander-in-chief of the infantry army and arranged for him to command the defense of the city.
Yang Guangyuan found out that Li Yanxun was from Xingzhou and his old mother was still in Xingzhou, so he sent someone to invite the old lady from Xingzhou to Weizhou City to ask her to persuade her rebellious son to surrender.
However, Li Yanxun, a boy who "has never been filial to his parents and refused their support in his hometown", has long since failed to fulfill his support obligations. His friends and colleagues all despise him.
"Ouch, I can't see clearly. Where did you get this old lady to trick me?"
"You don't even know your biological mother?"
"Come closer, come closer, yes, yes, come a little further... Okay, right here!"
Li Yanxun suddenly drew his bow and fired an arrow, killing his biological mother with one arrow. "Okay, let me see what other tricks you have."
The soldiers of both armies were all stunned. What a rebellious traitor. In broad daylight, before the two armies faced each other, he shot his own mother to death with his own hands...
Now, Shi Jingtang not only pardoned him, but also made him mayor... The ministers were filled with indignation, saying that the crime of patricide must not be pardoned. Failure to kill this beast would not be enough to revitalize the government, and failure to kill would not be enough to inflame the common people!
