By eliminating the "Rocket Faction" and Feng Dao and others, there were vacancies in the core functions of Privy Councilor, Prime Minister, etc. This was the purpose of the new master of the imperial court, Li Congke. Next, he will install his own direct lineage and take control of the center of national power.
Who are Li Congke's direct descendants?
"Look at the faces of the six of us from now on. We will dominate this empire when we come here."
According to historical records, when Li Congke started his army from Fengxiang, he had five direct descendants, namely Han Zhaoyin, Li Zhuanmei, Song Shenqian, Fang Hao, and Liu Yanlang.
These five people each perform their own duties, serving as military advisors, hawks, and financial stewards. He is the "Five Tiger Generals" of Li Congke Group.
After Li Congke came to the throne, Han Zhaoyin was appointed as Zuojianyi doctor and bachelor of Duanming Palace; Li Zhuanmei was appointed as direct bachelor of Privy Council; Yajiang Song Shenqian was appointed as the envoy of the imperial city, and Liu Yanlang was appointed as the envoy of Zhuangzhai.
As the political purge movement progressed, the positions of several people were continuously promoted. Finally, Han Zhaoyin was promoted to Privy Councilor; Liu Yanlang was promoted to Privy Council Deputy; Fang Hao was appointed to the North Court of Xuanhui; and Song Shenqian was promoted to the Commander-in-Chief of the Infantry of the Forbidden Army ( The guards and infantry commanders).
The powerful departments of the empire were gathered into the hands of Li Congke's direct family in a short period of time. As for positions such as Prime Minister and Zhizhigao, they actually require three good students with both good character and academic performance. It is best to be filled by academic masters, and it is best for stupid people who are ignorant of the world. It would be great if we could have crossed paths with Li Congke before.
As a result, Lu Qi was promoted to doctor in the Ministry of Rites, Zhizhigao, and direct bachelor of the Privy Council; Xue Wenyu was also promoted and placed in important positions. This kind of people have a common characteristic, that is, they are at the core of power, but they do not control powerful departments and are only responsible for making suggestions. Later, Xue Wenyu came up with a lot of bad ideas.
When determining the candidate for prime minister, Li Congke used a very advanced and scientific method: drawing lots.
After preliminary screening, Li Congke had three candidates: Lu Wenji, Yao Yi (pronounced the same as "Yi"), and Cui Jujian.
No. 1 seed: Lu Wenji
Lu Wenji was born into a prominent family, the Lu family of Fanyang. His grandfather was Lu Jianqiu, the former Hedong Jiedu envoy, who was the predecessor of Li Keyong, so he enjoyed greater prestige in the Hedong Group. Lu Wenji himself was an academic master, and passed the imperial examination. In the Later Liang Dynasty, he served as Minister of the Ministry of Punishment, Bachelor of the Jixian Hall, and during the Ming Dynasty, he was the Censor Zhongcheng.
Later, Lu Wenji had a conflict with Cui Xie, the prime minister at the time, so Cui Xie promoted a young comrade named Yu Ye to be Lu Wenji's work partner. Lu Wenji's father's name was Lu Siye, and Yu Ye violated his father's name, so Lu Wenji was very unhappy. When Yu Ye took office as a new official and came to pay homage to the dock, Lu Wenji directly rejected him. Then he asked for sick leave indefinitely and refused to work.
Later, Yu Ye was ordered to go on a business trip and was packing his luggage. Before he left, Lu Wenji came to work. Being so excluded by the seniors, Yu Ye was angry and frightened, so he hanged himself.
Emperor Mingzong at that time was very angry, and Lu Wenji was demoted and subsequently sent to Shu on a business trip. When he passed by Fengxiang, Li Congke, then the governor of Fengxiang, received him.
It is said that Lu Wenji was tall, had a loud voice, was elegant in manners, and had outstanding talents, which left a deep impression on Li Congke. It also laid the foundation for Lu Wenji's future success.
Second seed: Yao Yi
Yao Yi is a talent! He perfectly interprets what it means to be a "nerd". Apart from reading, he really doesn't know anything, and he is a tough academic.
When Yao Ai was a child, he was a simple, honest and stupid boy, and his appearance was slightly mentally retarded. He was "stupid, honest, and extravagant in appearance." People around him also treated him as a mentally retarded child. Only a great poet and writer thought he was as wise as a fool, valued him very much, and married his daughter to him.
This discerning boss was Sikong Tu. As mentioned in the previous article, when Zhu Wen usurped the Tang Dynasty, he went on a hunger strike and died in the Tang Dynasty.
Sikong Tu was right. Yao Yi's "silliness" was mostly out of kindness. It is said that he did not know how to count and did not know how to calculate accounts, so his slaves often blatantly made accounts and defrauded him of money. "Every family buys everything, their income is doubled, and their income is reduced by half." So Yao Yi's family was soon impoverished. .
At the end of the Tang Dynasty, he became a Jinshi; he entered the Hanlin Academy in the Later Liang Dynasty, and moved to be a member of Zhongshu Sheren; in the Later Tang Dynasty, he became the minister of the Ministry of Personnel and Zuocheng of the Shangshu.
No. 3 seed: Cui Jujian
When it comes to Cui Jujian, he is not well-known, but when it comes to his father, he is very famous. He appeared at the beginning of this book. His father, Cui Xing, once served as an observer in Shaanxi and Guozhou. He provoked a civil uprising and was expelled. On the way, he was enthusiastically fed a bowl of urine by the people.
It was 869 AD when Cui Xing was forced to urinate. Cui Jujian was born in the next year (870).
Cui Jujian's grandfather was Cui Li, who later moved to the post of Minister Zuocheng. He served as an envoy to the Zhenguo Army and the Pinglu Army, served as the examiner of the imperial examination (Zhi Gong Ju), and drafted imperial edicts for the emperor (Zhi Zhi Gao). After his death, He was given a posthumous gift to the Minister of Rites; his father Cui Xun, who was the Minister of the Ministry of Rites and Youcheng, also served as a Zhizhigao.
Cui Jujian's family background is very high, the famous Boling Cui family, undisputed after the famous family, after the famous officials of the Tang Dynasty. He himself also had a Jinshi degree. In the Later Liang Dynasty, he was a scholar of Zhongshu, a bachelor of Hanlin, and a censor Zhongcheng. In the later Tang Dynasty, he was the minister of the Ministry of punishment and Taichang Qing.
When Emperor Mingzong Li Siyuan was buried, Cui Jujian was appointed as the "ceremonial envoy" as usual. Cui Jujian violated the ancestral taboo (Li) and refused. The then Prime Minister Feng Dao appointed him as Secretary Supervisor.
In fact, Emperor Zhaozong of the Tang Dynasty has already given us a vivid lesson in "prime selection". If the ruler wants to follow the "civilian route", the employment criteria are nothing more than three main dimensions: origin, talent and learning, and work experience.
It is best to be from a well-known family, father, grandfather, ancestor; academic qualifications are at least a Jinshi degree, or a world-famous cultural V, well-known scholars and poets with numerous works are preferred; have certain work experience, preferably Stayed in the center for a long time.
Such a person can convince the public, and more importantly, can serve the emperor well without being too big to lose and threatening the imperial power.
Li Congke publicly asked the ministers to recommend candidates for prime minister. As expected, these three people received the top three votes. In addition, a total of more than a dozen people were recommended.
However, these three people also have their own shortcomings, and they are not so perfect. Li Congke was in trouble for a while, so he adopted the method of drawing lots. Write the names of these dozen people on small slips of paper, crumble them into a ball, and put them into a beautiful bottle carved with gemstones.
That night, Li Congke burned incense and took a bath, praying devoutly to heaven, hoping that the gods would bless him and send him capable ministers to govern the world. Then, use chopsticks to pick up the paper ball.
The first one I took out was clearly written on it: Lu Wenji; the second one: Yao Wei.
Li Congke exclaimed: "This is God's will!"
So Lu Wenji and Yao Yi were appointed as ministers of Zhongshu and Pingzhangshi, and became prime ministers of the empire; Cui Jujian was appointed minister of the Ministry of Industry.
