Does the thick-browed Wang Jianli really want to unite with the capital to rebel?
The truth of the matter is that Wang Jianli pretended to agree to stabilize the capital and win its trust. In private, he secretly reported important information to Li Siyuan immediately about the gangs and rebellion in the capital.
Therefore, Li Siyuan knew Wang Jianli's innocence, but he couldn't bear to reveal to An Zhongjie the important secret that Comrade Wang Jianli was our undercover agent.
An Chongjiu was unyielding and became more and more noisy, insisting on killing Wang Jianli's entire family. Wang Jianshe also went to court to accuse An Chongjiu of being arrogant and domineering and alienating the emperor and his ministers. The two faced each other in the air, greeting each other's eighteenth generation ancestors.
Wang JianShu asked to go to Beijing to argue with An Zhongjie face to face, and to report An Zhongjie's various illegal activities in real name. Li Siyuan issued an edict to summon him to Beijing.
Wang Jianli was not a vegetarian. After arriving in Beijing, he exposed An Zhong's teachings, organized cliques, married Zhang Yanlang, and ostracized the imperial court...
Zhang Yanlang's position is Xuanhui Envoy and Judge Third Division, which means he is responsible for palace affairs, and he also serves as the Minister of Finance. His political marriage with An Chongjie was a powerful alliance, integrating military power, financial power, personnel appointment and dismissal power, and palace affairs.
Wang Jianli accused An Zhongjie of being domineering and disobedient. Just when An Zhongjie was acting coquettishly with Li Siyuan regarding the placement of Hua Wenqi, Li Siyuan also felt that An Zhongjie was indeed going too far, so he summoned An Zhongjie angrily. He said to him angrily: "Didn't you say you didn't want to do it two days ago? Just in time, Wang Jianli came. You two exchanged positions. He replaced you as Privy Councilor, and you went to Zhenzhou to rest. By the way, that Zhang Yanlang Let’s release it outside too.”
An Zhong was dissatisfied, and like an abandoned wife, she quarreled with the scumbag Li Siyuan, "I have worked hard and served His Majesty for decades. Your Majesty has passed the 9th Five-Year Plan, and I am in charge of the country's secrets again. I have worked hard and... For several years, fortunately, the world has been peaceful... Now, you actually want to abandon me and exile me to another place? Okay, then give me a reason, what crime have I committed, and why should I be exiled? "
Li Siyuan's face was red, his ears were red and his neck was thick, he threw up his sleeves and left.
Li Siyuan and An Zhongjie, the son-in-law and minister, sometimes really look like a couple quarreling.
After the unhappy breakup, Li Siyuan was still angry and complained to Zhu Hongzhao, another person in charge of palace affairs, "Why is An Zhongjie like this? It's so annoying."
Zhu Hongzhao appeared in the previous article when talking about the two rivers. He is also a direct descendant of Li Siyuan. He has also been suppressed by An Zhongjiao for a long time. He was just sent to Dongchuan not long ago as the deputy envoy of Dongchuan Jiedu to supervise Dong Zhang. Because it is said that after Xichuan Meng Zhixiang killed the supervisor Li Yan, Jin Chan escaped from his shell and fled back to the central government. Now he is appointed as the envoy of Xuanhui South Academy.
Zhu Hongzhao has been suppressed by An Zhongjie before and is an unknown soy sauce man. However, this man is very deep in the city and is even more insidious and cunning. He had been bullied by An Zhongjie, and now An Zhongjie angered Li Siyuan. When Li Siyuan complained to him about An Zhongjie, Zhu Hongzhao's approach was a textbook-level workplace model:
"Your Majesty usually regards Mr. An as his right-hand man. If he is exiled today for a trivial matter, it will inevitably destabilize the hearts of the people in the court. Your Majesty, I boldly ask you to calm down and think again after you calm down!"
Zhu Hongzhao's kind words brought Li Siyuan back to his senses, and he immediately summoned An Chongjie again, explaining and comforting An Zhongjie in a pleasant manner.
"I was wrong."
"Where did you go wrong?"
"Oh, it's just wrong anyway."
As a result, the monarch and his ministers reconciled.
Please remember Zhu Hongzhao. He is by no means a gentleman who forgets his own interests and puts the overall situation first. Although he puts in good words for An Zhongjie at the moment regardless of past grudges, he will be the one who kicks An Zhongjie into the coffin in the future.
It was he who saved An Chongjie, and he was also the one who harmed An Chongjie. The political logic of this will be discussed later.
After appeasing An and giving instructions, Wang Jianli also said goodbye and returned to Zhenzhou. Li Siyuan was worried that after he returned, An Zhongjiao, who stayed in the central government, would continue to frame him, so he kept him here. "Haven't you been asking to return to the central government recently to help me eradicate the traitors in the DPRK? Why do you want to go back again?" Already?"
Just stay, there's no place for people to be buried in the loess.
It happened that Zheng Jue, who was also the Minister of the Ministry of Criminal Affairs, Tongping Zhangshi, and a "specialist in teasing," asked to retire and return to his hometown. He submitted four times in a row to "beg for his bones." Li Siyuan gave him permission to serve as an official with Zuopushi, and Wang Jianli was appointed as the official. Youpuse is also the minister of Zhongshu, Pingzhangshi, a bachelor of Jixian Palace, and a judge of Yantiehubu Duzhi.
The mutual strife between An Chongjie and Wang Jianli has come to an end for the time being.
From this process, if An Chongjie was sharp enough, he should be able to capture two important small details: Li Siyuan recruited Wang Jianli to go to Beijing; Wang Jianli stayed in the central government.
At first glance, it appears that Li Siyuan asked both parties to confront each other face to face, with the leader mediating. But the political signal was already very obvious, indicating that Li Siyuan was already on guard against An Chongjiao.
The reason why Wang Jianli was allowed to go to Beijing was because he wanted to report An Zhongjiao's black materials in a real-name way; and to keep Wang Jianli in the central government was because Li Siyuan wanted to restrict and balance An Zhongjiao. This method is very low-level, very common, and very clear, but it did not attract enough attention from An Zhongjie and ignored this serious warning.
9. Li Congcan
Regarding Li Congcan's identity, there is a slight dispute in authoritative history books. The "Old History of the Five Dynasties" says that he is Li Siyuan's son, while the "New History of the Five Dynasties" says that he is Li Siyuan's nephew. No matter son or nephew.
An Chongjie was dictatorial and had power over the government and the public. Even the princes did not dare to compete with him and were extremely afraid of him. The princes Li Congrong and Li Conghou even tried to flatter him with all their might.
In fact, just because the prince is afraid does not prove that An Zhonghui is arrogant and domineering, because for a prince who is likely to inherit the throne, making friends with ministers privately or criticizing courtiers is a taboo in the palace and a sign of regicide and usurping power. Therefore, princes must be low-key and restrained, especially staying far away from powerful ministers.
But this Li Congcan refused to submit to An Chongjie. According to historical records, Li Congcan was a fierce man, generous with his wealth, and high-profile. He liked to make friends with civil and military officials and had great ambitions. He especially disliked An Chong's teachings.
An Zhongjie was even more displeased with him.
In the second year of Tiancheng (927), Li Siyuan went to Bianzhou to have a meal, which lasted for a year and a half. He did not return to Luoyang until February of the fourth year of Tiancheng (929). As soon as he returned home, An Chongjie reported a shocking news: Li Congcan had committed treason.
It turned out that when Li Siyuan left for Bianzhou, he appointed Li Congcan as the imperial envoy. One day, Li Congcan gave a banquet to the guests, and they were all drunk and very happy. During this period, some guests encouraged Li Congcan to sit on the dragon chair. As expected, Li Congcan took advantage of the power of wine and sat on the dragon chair that only the emperor could sit on. The group of people cheered and had a great time.
If you dare to sit on the dragon's throne, you are tired of living. An Zhongjiao asked him to be punished.
So Li Siyuan issued an edict to demote Li Congcan to Fangzhou Sihu to join the army, and committed suicide in search of a reward.
Did Li Congcan ever act drunkenly? Or, who instigated him? Is there any operation by An Zhongjie? These questions have become an eternal mystery.
As a prince or nephew, he was killed by An Zhongjie just because he did not respect An Zhongjie enough and could not submit.
Li Congcan's death marked the peak of An Chongjie's power.
Things must be reversed when they reach their extremes. Perhaps Li Congcan, who was dissatisfied with himself, was killed too easily. An Zhongjiao swelled, drifted, and forgot about himself.
Next, An Zhongjie put another prince on the death list, and An Zhongjie vowed not to give up until this person was killed. This person is Li Siyuan's adopted son-Li Congke.
