【Shiro visits his mother】
Han Yanhui was a native of Youzhou and a second-generation official. His father had served as governor in Jizhou, Ruzhou, and Shunzhou. Han Yanhui was talented and well-educated, so he showed his extraordinary talent at a very young age. He was appreciated by Liu Rengong, the governor of the Lulong Army in Youzhou at the time, and he was called into his staff.
After Liu Shouguang imprisoned his father and seized power, Han Yanhui was also reused. When Liu Shouguang was at the end of his rope, he sent Han Yanhui as envoy to Khitan to request Khitan to go south for support.
After Han Yanhui saw Yelu Abaoji, he bowed and refused to kneel.
Perhaps touching on the inferiority complex of "Beidi", Yelu Abaoji became furious and scolded Han Yanhui for being rude. Not only did he refuse to send troops to help Liu Shouguang, he also detained Han Yanhui and made him a herdsman.
Han Yanhui would rather be a butcher on the grassland than bow to the overlord of the grassland. Young Han Yanhui was determined to pay tribute to "Su Wu Shepherd".
Behind every successful man, there must be a virtuous woman. Zhu Wen, Li Keyong, and Yelu Abaoji were all without exception. The woman standing behind Yelu Abaoji is named Shuluping, and she is Yelu Abaoji's cousin and wife. This woman is not simple, and her wonderful story will be scattered in the following article.
After Shuluping heard that Han Yanhui refused to kneel and was punished as a soldier, he immediately ran to Yelu Abaoji and said that Han Yanhui was unyielding and a rare virtuous person. This person should be used to help you conquer the world. What are you doing? Let him let go?
Yelu Abaoji's anger subsided, so he summoned Han Yanhui again, pretending to be a courteous and virtuous corporal, and talked with him calmly about the past and the present, and spoke from the bottom of his heart. After a few words of conversation, Yelu Abao praised him, saying that Han Yanhui was truly a virtuous person sent from heaven! So he treated Han Yanhui favorably and kept him as his adviser.
In the following external attacks (Dangxiang, Shiwei, etc.), Han Yanhui repeatedly made clever plans and made countless meritorious deeds.
Han Yanhui, who had lived outside the Great Wall for a long time, missed his homeland very much and often wrote poems and poems. His infinite attachment to his hometown was revealed in his words. Therefore, Han Yanhui made a major decision - to defect and return.
Han Yanhui waited for an opportunity to escape back to the Central Plains. At that time, Youzhou had been included in the territory of Hedong forces, and Han Yanhui defected to Li Cunxu.
Any tree that is beautiful in the forest will be destroyed by the wind. Han Yanhui was excluded and framed by his old colleague Wang Mian.
Wang Yan and Han Yanhui had worked together under Liu Rengong in Youzhou and were old colleagues. Moreover, the two had a very similar experience: Wang Yan had served as a friendly envoy to Fengxiang on the order of Liu Rengong and made a good friend with Li Maozhen. When Wang Yan arrived at Taiyuan Mansion in Hedong, he happened to catch up with Liu Rengong betraying Li Keyong and announcing his separation from Hedong forces. So Li Keyong intercepted Wang Yan, the envoy from Youzhou, and persuaded him to serve for Hedong because he admired his talent. Yan flatly refused, saying that he would never betray his old master and must return to Youzhou to resume his life.
Li Keyong was furious and ordered him to be thrown into prison to await his fate.
"Brother, I was wrong..." Wang Yan's attitude immediately turned 180 degrees, apologized to Li Keyong very sincerely, and accepted the appointment of Hedong Group with dignity.
He who knows the current affairs is a hero. Wang Yanjunjie has stayed with Hedong Group since then.
It has been emphasized many times in the previous article that although the Hedong Group conquered Youzhou by force, its mass base was very weak and relied heavily on the "indigenous gang" in Youzhou to rule Youzhou. To put it harshly, it needed the leading party, the Japanese devils, and "Treacherous". Therefore, a large number of highly respected officials from the former Youzhou, including Wang Yan, gained the favor of the Hedong Group, especially those like Wang Yan, the first generation of "youzhou traitors" who switched to Hedong during the Liu Rengong period. They were the last Trusted, most promoted agent, political vase.
When Liu Shouguang and his son were captured by Li Cunxu, Li Cunxu ordered Wang Mian to draft and make "Lu Bu". Comrade Wang Yan, who was outstanding in talent and learning, did not know who "Lu Bu" was and did not dare to ask. He could only inquire in private.
Someone with understanding told him that it was to announce the victory and tell the world that we had defeated the big bad guy. It was written on a big piece of cloth and picked up for the crowd to watch.
"Oh...it's just about swearing, I'm good at it." Then, Wang Jian's writing flowed out, his mouth was fragrant, his words were flowing, and he finished it in one go.
The original text of this "Lubu" is not available in historical materials. It only records that "there is no evasion in the drafting, and there are few righteous people in this way."
In other words, Wang Yan had no respect for his old owners, the Liu family and his son, and was very rude and sarcastic. Perhaps he just didn't use the foul language. Wang Yan also gained a large number of black fans and was despised by the world.
Wang Yan really had a fight with Li Xiaoxi, who betrayed Liu Shouguang, but he was just lucky enough to survive.
Afraid of lustful power, he bowed his head and threw himself into the east of the river; he threw stones into the well and humiliated his old master by exposing his cloth; he was jealous of his talents and slandered Han Yanhui. This is a summary of Wang Mian’s life.
There may not be ghosts and gods in the world, but there is karma. Wang Yan's disregard for his integrity aroused public outrage, and in the end, he did not end well. His story will be presented later.
Wang Yan is still a popular person around Li Cunxu, a senior adviser on the Youzhou issue, and is deeply trusted. When he deliberately tried to frame Han Yanhui, Han Yanhui was unable to resist. There were only two choices before him: die or leave. Han Yanhui chose the latter.
Han Yanhui applied for family leave from Li Cunxu, saying that he would go back to his hometown in Youzhou to visit his mother.
Halfway through Zhenzhou, Han Yanhui stopped by to visit an old friend, Zhang Wenli.
During the chat, Zhang Wenli asked him what his next plan was.
Han Yanhui did not shy away and told the truth, "Now, the entire north of the Yellow River has become the sphere of influence of Hedong, and it is no longer possible for me to serve as an official in Hedong. I have only one way out, to return to Khitan."
Zhang Wenli changed his face when he heard this and said: "You betrayed the Khitan, how can you throw yourself into a trap again? Aren't you afraid that Yelu Abaoji will kill you?"
Han Yanhui smiled slightly and said confidently: "I am his right-hand man and he can't live without me. For him, I am lost and found again. It's too late for him to be happy. How can he be willing to kill me?"
Zhang Wenli sighed, "It doesn't matter, life and death are destiny, wealth is in heaven. Take care of yourself!"
After bidding farewell to Zhang Wenli, Han Yanhui went back to his hometown in Youzhou to visit his mother, and then resolutely entered the Khitan territory.
As expected, when Yelu Abaoji heard that Han Yanhui was back, he was overjoyed. He took his hand, patted his shoulders and back, and said, "I miss you so much!"
Han Yanhui's answer to his leaving without saying goodbye made Yelu Abaoji even more moved. According to historical records, Han Yanhui said: "It is not filial to forget one's relatives, and it is not loyal to abandon the emperor. Although I fled, my heart is with Your Majesty. I will come back."
Yelv Abaoji was so moved that he didn't want to give it up, and immediately gave Han Yanhui a Khitan name: Xilie (transliteration, meaning "return" in Khitan language). Not only did Han Yanhui not be held accountable for his previous defection, but he was given greater official position and power, and Han Yanhui was treated more highly.
There is a slight controversy over the translation of Han Yanhui's sentence. The focus of the dispute is who the "jun" in "abandoning the emperor and not being loyal" refers to. Most people interpreted it as Liu Shouguang and Li Cunxu, the old masters of the Central Plains. They said that Han Yanhui meant that his mother and the old masters were in the Central Plains. If I didn't go back and take a look, it would be unfaithful and unfilial, so I left without saying goodbye and went back to check it out. wish.
I personally believe that any sentence cannot be translated out of context or out of context. If we look at the whole sentence together, this "jun" should refer to Yelu Abaoji. This sentence should be translated as: If I don't return to the Central Plains to see my mother, I will be unfilial; if I betray you, I will be unfaithful. Since ancient times, it is difficult to have both loyalty and filial piety. I went home to visit my mother this time just so that I would not leave any trace of unfilial piety. In fact, during the days I left, I have been thinking about you, Your Majesty!
In other words, Han Yanhui was strongly hinting to Yelu Abaoji: If there is a dilemma between loyalty and filial piety, I would rather stay with you to be loyal than stay in the Central Plains to fulfill filial piety. Your Majesty, you are closer than my own mother!
The classic Peking Opera play "Silang Visits His Mother" tells the story of Yang Yanhui, Yang Silang, one of the "Yang Family Generals" of the Song Dynasty. He was captured by the Khitan and lived incognito for fifteen years. During the Great War of the Song Dynasty, Yang Yanhui and Princess Tiejing deceived Yanmen Pass to visit his mother Taijun She in the Song Dynasty military camp, and then returned to the Khitan story.
It is said that Yang Yanhui in "Silang Visits His Mother" was artistically processed based on Han Yanhui's return to his hometown to visit his mother.
Among the "Generals of the Yang Family", Yang Jiye, the old lord of Yang, was born in the Five Dynasties period. He first served the Northern Han Dynasty (belonging to the "Ten Kingdoms"), then returned to the Song Dynasty and became a famous general in the fight against the Liao Dynasty. The story of "General of the Yang Family" has been processed and polished by later generations, and has become a well-known heroic story. In addition to the above-mentioned "Silang Visits His Mother", the more famous ones include "Mu Guiying Takes the Command", "Twelve Widows Conquer the West", etc. .
In many literary and artistic works of later generations, people after the Yang family are often fabricated, such as the "green-faced beast" Yang Zhi in "Water Margin"; Yang Zaixing, a general of Yue Fei's tribe in "The Complete Story of Yue"; Yang Tiexin and Yang Kang written by Mr. Jin Yong , Yang Guo.
Near the end of this book, the real "Yang family generals" in history will be restored.
