All things in the world, whether they are people, animals, or plants, are actually full of a sense of contradiction, but they are just more or less different.

During this period of military training, as an outsider but also an insider, I always had some strange feelings... I always like to pay attention to small things; I often hear or see, short and concise words, one by one. The little things that are down to the smallest detail. For example, the wind is a little strong; it is a little cold today... Although these events or words are different, they are all filled with a different kind of contradiction.

These different feelings of contradiction can't help but remind me of a very special kind of teacher. He said something, which roughly means that whether a person is excellent depends on whether there are two completely different and mutually exclusive things in his mind. Even if you have different opinions, you can still maintain the ability to act independently.

In my opinion, this military training is different because of these contradictory feelings.

In this military training, I saw the great spirit of unity with patriotism as the core; the firm spirit of collectivism... But in addition, I saw the display of individuality in the group. I think I can become more and more firm in my belief in individualism. It is not wrong. If I must say it is wrong, it is that individualism is easy to be excessive, which leads to the proliferation of personal selfish desires... So I think I can better understand Xunzi's point of view of self-denial and restoration of propriety.

From the time when Mencius proposed that human nature is inherently good to when Xunzi proposed that human nature is inherently evil, there was actually a gap of several decades between the emergence of these two views. I think it’s not that Xunzi disagrees with Mencius’s view that human nature is inherently good. It’s just that in that war-torn era, Xunzi saw the dark side of human nature, and therefore proposed to use self-denial to return people to the origin of goodness and achieve the purpose of restoring propriety.

This is like a cycle. A person comes to this world with pure innocence and faces the world with the purest kindness. However, due to the good and bad influences of the world's chaos, a person gradually becomes contradictory and gradually follows the good path. The evil nature transformed into human nature.

Under this opportunity, Xunzi followed the changes of the times and proposed that human nature is inherently evil, and rituals should be used to restrain the dark desires in human nature, so as to achieve the purpose of restoring rituals. The views of Xun and Meng seem to remind people that people in this era will gradually fall into a cycle of continuous escape: human nature is inherently good - human nature gradually becomes evil - and returns to its original goodness.

When we were in middle school, we studied an ancient text selected from the Book of Rites: "The Journey of the Great Dao". Among them is the beautiful blueprint of the "Great Harmony Society" drawn by the sages. I think that even if the current productivity and production relations have not reached that level and cannot turn the beautiful vision into reality, this spiritual food that has traveled through thousands of years is still It inspires every good-minded Chinese to still look forward to the day when facing the skeletal reality, looking forward to the day when the vision of a harmonious society will be realized in the long corridor of time.

At this moment, I seem to have a deeper understanding of the sentence "Success does not have to be mine, success must be mine."

I want to get rid of the feeling of contradiction and just move forward resolutely, but do good things without worrying about the future. And I firmly believe that after thousands of years, future generations of travelers will surely reach the day when the world is unified.
