In May 2022, an infected person appeared in my community, and I was asked to be quarantined at home for 14 days. At that time, I was the only one at home. It was so cool not to have to go to work. It was so fun to play games and read novels every day.
However, the first few days of this kind of day were fine, but by the sixth or seventh day, it became a bit boring.
Moreover, there was a book shortage at that time, and I couldn't find any novels that I could read. Many novels stopped reading after a few chapters, so I came up with the idea of writing my own book.
On May 7, I started writing a book, and Poison Master was born.
At first I just wanted to kill time, but I never thought that one day this book would have such success.
During that time, I was playing the Legend private server, so many of Poison Master’s initial game templates were based on Legend.
It’s just that reading and writing are really two different things. As a bookworm for more than ten years, I actually have many, many ideas in my mind, but I want to write them out but don’t know how to express them.
Fortunately, at that time, there was not much but plenty of time. The idea at the time was that after going to work for a few days, I would probably not touch it again.
However, on the fifth day, I suddenly saw readers in the data reading my book and commenting on it. I still remember that comment at that time...
"It's very well written, come on!"
Just because of this comment, I instantly gained unlimited motivation, so I started coding seriously.
After the quarantine ended, the book was successfully signed, and during this period I received many comments one after another, which strengthened my belief in continuing to write.
This book can be successfully completed entirely because of all readers. Without your encouragement, there would be no Poison Lord today.
I read the comments every day, and I am moved by so many comments.
But similarly, this book has been criticized a lot, not only against the book, but also in many cases with personal attacks on the author.
To be honest, seeing this kind of comments really affected my mood, and even made me want to give up several times. If I hadn't thought about there being so many readers who liked it, maybe I would have given up long ago.
I have never cursed when I read a book for more than ten years. If I don’t think it looks good, I will just change the book. Writing is not easy, especially after writing a book myself. It’s really hard to feel that all you have to do to write is to be scolded.
A large part of the reason why many authors cannot persevere is because of the abuse from readers.
Every author comes from a novice, who can write a masterpiece from the beginning? With more understanding and less abuse, more people will be willing to write books, and more people will be willing to write books. Good works are born.
This book was started without much thought in the early stage, so there were many unreasonable settings in the early stage, which made it particularly difficult to write in the later stage.
But fortunately, it has a perfect ending in the end, which can also be considered as a satisfactory explanation for readers who like Poison Lord.
Because I don’t want to have endless matryoshka dolls, the new journey is left to the readers to imagine. Maybe I will write an extra chapter when I have time to write about their stories in the new chapter and satisfy everyone’s curiosity.
As for the new book, I will start writing it in the next few days. This time I will build a good framework before writing, and try not to have unreasonable settings.
Then I will write more words before posting, and I will be even more scared of being urged every day, hahaha.
As for the update, I will first promise you two chapters a day for the new book. After all, I have to go to work. As for whether I can do more, I will see the data of the new book and decide whether I want to go full-time.
