So Shenxiu's starting point is good, but the underlying theory is not optimistic, because he looks at the entire world from a personal standpoint to some extent.
Because you say that the world is a big dye vat, it is because you are still attached to a pure state in your heart, and there is still duality in your heart, and you still use the cognitive method of duality to view the world.
So what Hui Neng means is that what you think is a big dye vat is actually not a big dye vat. It is your own judgment. So Shenxiu, this brother, is still divided into you and me, and still has black and white residences.

Hui Neng no longer regards thoughts as thoughts, but "if you are not afraid of thinking about it, you are afraid of waking up late."
So Huineng knows that thoughts are thoughts, his awareness, and his heart are inherently pure, so thoughts are thoughts, and I am pure, so why clean it? I don't agree with it! Let it play by itself! Whether you think you need to clean it or not is entirely up to you, and the cycle will continue. It's fine if I know it as it is and don't argue with it.
So Sister Yu, you can understand that when a person identifies with his own thoughts, feels that his thoughts are right, and the heart that is constantly judging and judging what he thinks is right, the person will be confused and fall into a trap. These are all correct, the mistake is that you have lost your original intention. Your original mind is awareness, consciousness, and awareness, and thoughts are born from them.
