I have said before that when I heard Jiang Tao talk about digging out blood here, I thought of some things recorded in "Maoshan Sanqing Shu".
Maybe the red thing is not blood, but now I picked up the blood soil and put it under my nose to smell it, but there really was no smell of blood.
It's okay to say that I didn't know the smell of blood before, but since I have experienced so many things, I can be considered very familiar with the smell of blood.
But now the soil does not smell like blood, but rather the smell of sulfur and lime, which is simply a pungent smell similar to gas.
This pungent smell, coupled with the color like blood, can only mean one thing.
Cinnabar!
And my previous guess based on "Maoshan Sanqing Shu" was exactly cinnabar!
So why would guessing cinnabar make me more worried than hearing it was blood?
Maybe most people don't know much about cinnabar, or they only know that cinnabar is red, but they don't understand its other functions.
Cinnabar is not only introduced in "Maoshan Sanqing Shu", but also recorded in "Compendium of Materia Medica".
"It is sweet in taste and cold in nature. It has the power to suppress evil heat. It can ward off ghosts and calm the mind. It can protect the heart and detoxify. It is endowed with fire to generate life. It has yang on the outside and yin on the inside. It has the pure spirit energy of the earth, so it is non-toxic but can detoxify."
To put it simply, in addition to being used as a red pigment, cinnabar can also be used to suppress evil and eliminate evil. Therefore, Taoist talismans are all made of cinnabar because it has a strong effect of warding off evil and is the best choice for painting talismans.
It is said that cinnabar has the effect of suppressing evil spirits, but this is not a cinnabar mining area, but a large amount of cinnabar was found. There is only one possibility!
This must be the cinnabar tomb recorded in "Maoshan Sanqing Shu"!
What is a cinnabar tomb? To put it simply, at the time of burial, the sealing soil on the top of the tomb was divided into three layers. Close to the top of the tomb was a layer of loose soil with lime added. The loose soil is the fine soil after filtering and screening of the soil in nature. After adding lime, it becomes as hard as cement.
The middle layer is paved with cinnabar mixed with red soil, and then the top layer is covered with ordinary sand and gravel as a material similar to the ground surface.
This kind of cinnabar tomb is extremely strange. When the burial was just started, the rainwater entered the soil. The cinnabar in the middle layer was relatively fine, and would pass through the soil and stones on the surface. Along with the rainwater, red water would flow from the surface, just like from the ground. The ground looked like blood was oozing out, it was extremely weird!
As mentioned before, the function of cinnabar is to suppress evil spirits, so the function of cinnabar tomb is self-evident.
The entire tomb plays a role in suppressing evil spirits!
So under what circumstances would cinnabar tombs be used? In fact, it is rare to use cinnabar to seal the soil, because the bright red color can make people mistake it for blood, and blood in the tomb is a sign of great evil, so most people do not Will use it.
The situation when cinnabar tombs are used is that the corpse has undergone adverse changes before being buried. In other words, it has symptoms of being raised, so cinnabar is used to seal the soil to suppress the evil spirits in the tomb!
The suppressive effect of the cinnabar tomb is extremely strong, and it is unlikely that ordinary evil spirits will come out after being suppressed. My guess is that it is most likely because these people destroyed the cinnabar seal when they were digging the earth. This caused the things in the tomb to escape!
The moment I was sure it was the Cinnabar Tomb, I let out a long sigh. Is this thing so powerful? Even the cinnabar tomb was used!
"Maoshan Sanqingshu" is a book that records Taoism. Generally, there are very few records about this kind of tombs, but this cinnabar tomb is clearly recorded in it. It is one of the few tombs. It can be imagined that You know, how vicious the things inside can be!
At this moment, Jiang Tao and Uncle Jiang also jumped down. They looked at me staring at the cinnabar soil in my hands and didn't say anything for a long time. They were also a little anxious.
"Lin Jiu, do you have any ideas?" Uncle Jiang spoke first.
I raised my head and glanced at Uncle Jiang. His face was full of anxiety, as if he was waiting for my answer.
"When my grandma passed away, she left me a book. There were relevant records in it, and I learned about it from there." I said slowly.
Then, I told them my inferences without reservation.
After Jiang Tao listened, he didn't seem to understand the pros and cons, but Uncle Jiang frowned and asked me in a deep voice: "Then, do you have any solution?"
After I finished talking about the books my grandma left for me and my inference just now, Uncle Jiang's attitude towards me changed again, as if he really thought I could help them solve the problem.
Sometimes it's like this. To gain the trust of others, it often only takes one sentence or one thing. In addition, Uncle Jiang and the others were already in urgent need of medical treatment, so they simply asked me directly if there was any solution.
I sighed, was it finally my turn to make a decision?
