Luo Binhan failed to react immediately to this incident. When the voice sounded in his mind, his first reaction was to interpret it as some kind of spiritual attack, or a vision before his death. He lay helplessly on the ground, waiting for nightmares or eternal sleep to come, but then he was dragged up from the ground by the shadow of Asabam.
"Don't eat him," she ordered.
"Why should I eat this?" Luo Binhan asked.
Then the little voice in his head spoke again. It said in a humble and polite tone: "It sounds to me like she is asking me. Eating is my need, but it is not so urgent in the face of death. So I think you are not my food for the time being... You Okay, host. Thank you for letting me stay."
Luo Binhan listened to this calmly. He stood there for a few seconds with the support of Asabam's shadow, and then reached out and knocked on his head. The sound sounded crisp, perhaps ripe. He is now a corpse who thinks he is alive.
"I don't think so." The voice in his head said, "If thoughts continue to exist, you cannot be said to be dead, otherwise how can non-material life be recognized? But if you only recognize material life, we can also discuss your How theories are built. Would you mind sharing your theory?”
Luo Binhan made no attempt to talk to this voice. He glared at Assabamu as hard as he could, letting her know that there were plenty of good ways to kill someone with a single decapitation. Asabam ignored him and threw the container into the shadows, causing it to disappear as if it were stuck in a mire.
After doing all this, she turned her head and said to Luo Binhan: "It will separate you from the stars."
"What?" Luo Binhan said. Bang Bang rubbed his legs at him excitedly, and the voice in his head let out a sigh.
"Ah, now I understand," said the voice, "the reason why she put me on you. Of course, I know about those UFOs and now I want to keep you safe from them. I'm okay with that, hopefully. You can also adapt to my presence. But we can communicate more, it’s not hard, you just have to think about it in your head.”
At this time, Luo Binhan had somewhat accepted this new situation. He heard clearly the words of the voice in his head, and also discovered Bangbang's unusual attitude. He looked at each other in confusion until Bang Bang couldn't help but whisper: "Volcano!"
This sentence made Luo Binhan's mind flash. He remembered the adventures of extinct volcanoes that Bang Bang had told with great enthusiasm. The sentimental alien life deep in the heart of the mountain - a green, viscous slurry of raw matter that is constantly incubating its offspring.
Luo Binhan slowly touched his face, and a smooth and cold feeling came from his fingertips, like aloe vera juice with fleshy leaves (he was lucky enough to learn about his sister's homemade facial mask recipe once).
"Hello." The voice in his head said in a cautious tone, "I don't mind you touching me like this, host. But please don't scratch too hard, you will hurt yourself."
"...Okay." Luo Binhan said. He felt that he gradually understood everything. And after he made this decision, the voice in his head let out a contented sigh.
"Accept your own changes. This is the first step to achieve harmony." It said leisurely, "Although we are two strangers, if nature arranges it cleverly, we can get along as one. There is no need to be obsessed with your past appearance and appearance. Form, because everything is changing.”
Luo Binhan couldn't help but question how this philosophy was obtained from an extinct volcano tunnel where only minerals were available for food. He was particularly worried about whether the "change of self" would involve permanent brain damage. As soon as the idea occurred to him, the voice in his head began to protest slowly, claiming that his idea was pure prejudice. Luo Binhan ignored it. He looked directly at Asabam to get a reasonable explanation from the real leader of all this.
"Will it separate me from the stars?" he growled at Asabam. "Won't you just chop off my fucking head!"
This time he saw Asabam smiling. It was genuine ridicule, albeit a forced one. Luo Binhan was so furious that he almost didn't want to protect Bang Bang's important long legs. Before he could think of a suitable and appropriate way to relieve his anger, the shadow behind Asabam quickly expanded.
The shadow in the mist twisted and grew to more than ten times the size in the blink of an eye, like a giant with many arms and legs showing its teeth and claws. Luo Binhan was startled by this sight, and then he noticed that the shadow of Asabam's feet extended into the fog, as if she was controlling the weirdness behind the fog.
The giant of shadow fell heavily on them, like a mountain falling on top of their heads. The movement instantly lifted the fog in front of them, and at that moment Luo Binhan was sure that he had seen something. Not a vague shadow. It is not a monotonous and desolate land. Just a few dozen steps away from them was a cliff-like cutoff. A huge, corrupted head was revealed outside the cliff.
The head wore an equally huge crown of thorns as thick as an oak tree, with dead hair tangled like tangled grass, and two hazy eyes that could hold ten Luo Binhans. Its skin and lips were sore and loose, allowing worm-like shadows to move in and out of the flesh. There is no nose or ears, and the entire face is as sharp as a spike. That terrifying appearance gave it an extremely gloomy expression, staring at Luo Binhan through the fog.
The monster standing outside the cliff was so close to them that fear almost paralyzed Luo Binhan's heart. It was not that he had never seen huge creatures before, but the monster was different from anything he had seen before. Its emotional eyes are enough to prove that it is not some kind of building imitating a real person, but the emotions revealed in its eyes are so weird and sinister, exuding a strong aura of death like the mist lingering around its cheeks. This startling glance almost brought Luo Binhan to the verge of collapse. He felt as if his whole body had been hit by a strong electric current, and he was sure that he would be killed by the monster.
Then his vision broke. Darkness enveloped him like a tide, squeezing him into the narrow, soft shaft. He began to fall downward, through the familiar shaft. It was only then that the terrifying feeling spread from his nerves. He couldn't help but want to scream, but his lips were tightly sealed by some kind of slimy object.
"Shh." The voice in his head said softly, "Don't be nervous, host. Don't disturb the great one. Let it continue its eternal sleep in the shadow mist. You see, how magnificent they are, and how pitiful they are. Even death cannot disappear forever, but let the insignificant witness their decay. They will never participate in the cycle of life, which in my opinion is more unfortunate than being insignificant. What about you? Are you willing to exist forever? Or Join that cycle of change?”
Luo Binhan didn't have time to answer. He had fallen to the bottom of the well of darkness. The world suddenly turned upside down and he fell to the heavy ground. The bright light and strong wind from all directions made him almost unable to open his eyes.
"Well, that's a small problem," said the voice in his head. Then Luo Binhan felt that the mucous membrane on the surface of his eyeballs became darker. It was like a dark green contact lens, blocking him from too strong light. Relying on this layer of visual protection, Luo Binhan was finally able to lift his head from under his arms and look around the surrounding environment.
He saw the sky filled with glowing clouds. Golden, brilliant clouds made up of light particles surged and undulated under the violent storm, heading towards the distant Milky Way.
Those clouds were so bright that one almost felt like they would be melted by the light, while the ground was covered with dust as soft as ashes. The wind blew them over one meter high. If Luo Binhan hadn't been blocked by mucus in his airway (but he didn't feel suffocated), he would have coughed up his lungs.
His attention was drawn to those amazing cloud currents. After a while, he turned his attention to the wind-swept ground. He saw countless criss-cross ravines on the ground, like scratches and footprints left by giant beasts on the earth. It was undoubtedly caused by some kind of giant thing. Because of its astonishing weight, it even tramples the soft sand as flat as a mirror surface.
This sight should have frightened Luo Binhan, but when he carefully examined the footprints imprinted on the ground, the ecstasy of surviving a desperate situation surged out of his chest. Those huge footprints are not shaped like animals, but have extremely neat and clear edges. The front end of the footprints is similar to a rectangle with rounded corners, and the rear is followed by an ellipse. In Luo Binhan's impression, no beast had such footprints. There was only one thing that could perfectly fit this strange shape - and that was Upsilon's spaceship.
