But Linchuan Port, the outlet of Linchuan Water, emerged at this time. The reason is that since the Song Dynasty, there have been salt fields on the local seashore. In order to export salt, the entrance of Linchuan Water has become a natural river port for exporting salt.
In the Ming Dynasty, Linchuan Li was set up near Linchuan Port. The specific location is "Longpo" in the middle of the two main rivers in Sanya, Sanya River and Linchuan River. Among the fourteen "li" under the jurisdiction of Yazhou in the Ming Dynasty, Linchuanli was included. It can be seen that the population at that time was at least 100 households.
However, when the Sanya Development Force of the Senate arrived, the population of Linchuan had dropped sharply to less than fifty households. And they are all so-called "Zao Ji", that is, salt people who specialize in drying salt. Obviously, the reason why a li was set up here was entirely because of the salt field. Although the Sanya Salt Field is listed as one of the six major salt fields in Qiongdao under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development.
