Ordinary life continues. After birth, old age, illness and death, Cheng Ling felt another four hardships.
Love parting is painful...
The saying goes: "There is no joy when we get to know each other, no sorrow when we are separated." Parting in life and death, tragedies in the world, losing a spouse in youth, losing a son in middle age, are extremely sad, even if it is not a farewell, or to seek food and clothing, or due to forced Due to the situation, it will also be painful to be separated from the people you love.
However, there is no eternal feast in the world. As close as a father and son, as close as a couple, it is rare to stay together for life, not to mention other things. Everything is impermanent, and no one can avoid the pain of separation from love.
Resentment will cause suffering...
Opposite to the pain of separation from love, the pain of resentment and hatred. Like-minded friends, sworn lovers, deeply loving couples, or children who share the joy of life, separation or death, everything cannot be done independently.
But on the contrary, those people who are hateful in appearance, boring in language, or whose interests are conflicting and incompatible, gather together again. If we could never see such disgusting and abominable people for the rest of our lives, wouldn't our eyes be pure? none
Human resources issues in society are complicated and complicated. "It's not just that the families don't get together because they hate each other." In some situations, the more people hate each other, the more they are arranged together and follow each other like shadows, as if there is no time to separate. Isn't this right? Extremely distressing?
I can't ask for hardship...
If you want to obtain a certain thing, you cannot achieve it financially; if you want to seek a certain position, you cannot get it if there are too many people and too few people. Man A falls in love with woman O, but woman B falls in love with man C. My ambition is to become an elite in the computer industry, but in order to eat, I have to work as a waiter in an Internet cafe.
These are all undesirable hardships. Don't say you can't ask for it, even if you ask for the first wish, the second wish will be born immediately. The valley is easy to fill, but the desire is difficult to satisfy. Who would feel that everything is satisfied? If you are not satisfied, you have to ask for something. If you don’t get what you ask for, wouldn’t it be distressing?
The five yins are blazing and suffering...
The five yin are the five aggregates. The five yin gather into the body and burn like fire, from which the first seven sufferings arise. The color and yin are blazing, the four elements are out of tune, and there is suffering from disease. The yin of acceptance is blazing, and the acceptance of separation makes all the sufferings turn to the extreme: the yin of thinking is blazing, and the desire to pursue each other is accompanied by love and separation, resentment and hatred, and the suffering of not being able to seek. The active yin is blazing, causing various karma, and also being the cause of subsequent retribution. Moreover, due to the continuous flow of karma, there will be suffering from aging and aging. The yin of consciousness is blazing, causing confusion and karma. Three lives will pass, and there will be suffering in life and death.
In Buddhism, the eight sufferings are sometimes divided into three categories: suffering, destruction and suffering!
Suffering: It is the pain that people feel in life. Even if it is not pointed out in the Buddhist scriptures, it is considered to be suffering. This includes the physical pain of birth, the pain of aging, the pain of disease, and the pain of death.
The pain of separation from love caused by the social environment: the pain of not being able to stay with loved ones; the pain of not being able to get what you want: the pain of resentment and hatred: the pain of resentment that the road to home is narrow, and the pain of not being able to see when you look down; and the pain of the five aggregates being blazing: that is, The pain caused by the imbalance of body and mind in the five aggregates.
Bad suffering: refers to our normally happy feelings. From the perspective of Buddhist wisdom, what we call happy feelings are not real happiness, and are actually painful.
For example, when we are hungry, we want to eat, and when we are full, we feel happy. But if we continue to eat, will we still feel happy? When your body is dirty, you feel happy when you take a bath, but do you feel happy when you soak in water for a long time? Watching TV makes you happy when you are bored, but does it make you happy if you watch it day and night?
It can be seen that our so-called happiness is because after we have a certain desire, it is satisfied through external stimulation and a temporary psychological balance occurs, so we feel happy. However, the essence of eating is not happiness. If the essence of eating is happiness If you eat steamed buns, you should feel happy no matter how much you eat. However, this is not the case. When we eat steamed buns with a strong desire, we will feel happy when we eat one, two, or three. When we eat four, five, or six, you will feel happy. I found that the original happiness had turned into pain at this time.
Eating is like this, and all happiness obtained through desire in the world is like this, because this kind of happiness can become bad, so it is called bad suffering.
Xing Buxin: Xing is the meaning of change. Everything in the world is subject to change, which is the law of life in the universe. But the world does not understand this law and pursues eternity. I hope that my body, family, marriage, career, interpersonal relationships, and love will last forever. In fact, there is nothing eternal in the world. Things are impermanent, and beautiful things are often short-lived and fleeting.
And because our understanding is contrary to the facts of the world, we suffer. In short, everything in the Saha world is suffering.
As he continues to grow and realize, Cheng Ling's state of mind is slowly improving. As time goes by, he has grown from a baby to a teenager. He has begun to leave the small village chief where he was born, walk on the road, and see the outside world.
Along the way, he saw the eight sufferings of life, and inspiration kept flashing and brewing in his mind. As he walked, there was a sudden "boom" and he seemed to understand something.
All suffering comes from attachment, which refers to people's rejection of the illusion, unreality, and harmony of the five aggregates of body and mind, and stubbornly believe that there is a self that can freely dominate. Because there is no self in the first place, but we are attached to it, and we are always centered on myself, we will have all kinds of troubles and sufferings.
But stubbornly insisting on all dharmas and thinking that they are real will change with the changes of objective conditions. The Buddha said: "All dharmas arise due to causes and conditions, and all dharmas cease due to causes and conditions."
Being attached to "I" and not knowing all things will cause troubles and obstacles, leading to the segmented life and death of the six paths of reincarnation. Because of the attachment to what one considers to be "Dharma", one becomes aware of obstacles and is exposed to changes in the three realms of life and death.
In simpler terms: "Dharma attachment" means taking all external things seriously, which creates discrimination, love and hate. When something is in line with one's own will, greed arises, and when it is not in line with one's own will, resentment arises.
"Ignorance is the condition of action, action is the condition of consciousness, consciousness is the condition of name and form, name and form are the condition of the six senses, the six senses are the condition of contact, contact is the condition of feeling, feeling is the condition of love, love is the condition of taking, taking is the condition of existence, existence is the condition of birth, birth is the condition of old age, death and sorrow. Suffering. Therefore, we know that ignorance is the root of all suffering in life and death, and the root of all suffering is based on this root of ignorance."
This is a passage in the Sword Code. After Cheng Ling understood it, he never understood it, but after experiencing the eight sufferings of life, he suddenly became enlightened.
To put it bluntly, this is just a theory used by Buddhism to confuse the world. If you want to get rid of the eight sufferings of life, escape from the six paths of reincarnation, and realize your self-grasping thoughts, you must have enough faith in Buddhism, promote Buddhism, and preach to the world.
But these are not the Tao that Cheng Ling pursues. He decisively gave up on this kind of enlightenment, and before he knew it, he walked to the top of a mountain, overlooking the earth, looking at the ups and downs in the distance, and just stood there, motionless...
The way of heaven is endless, the road is boundless, and what a monk cultivates throughout his life is this way. Everyone's way is different. With personal insights and experiences, the way is ever-changing, and everything in the world can become a way!
What is my way...?
Cheng Ling's face was uncertain, and his eyes showed alternating determination and confusion. Based on the insights he gained along the way, he could integrate it as long as he wanted to, but this is the way of Buddhism, and he does not want it to end no matter what.
Time passed slowly, and unknowingly, the daytime changes on the top of the mountain, but three days passed in a row! In the past three days, Cheng Ling seemed to have spent three hundred years, and he looked as if he had suddenly aged.
For three days, his body did not move at all, except for his heart, which was like a roaring wave, constantly rising and falling, permeating his whole body.
"Tao... what is Tao..." Cheng Ling murmured to himself. In the past three days, such words had come from his mouth countless times. He seemed to be asking himself, and again As if searching, the confusion in the eyes is even stronger.
"What on earth is the Tao..." While pursuing, he didn't notice that the spiritual energy around him began to gather slowly, gradually accelerating, and on the third day, it was almost formed outside the body. A storm, moving with crazy speed.
"What... is the Tao!" His voice seemed to have experienced all the vicissitudes of life, and it also contained a persistent pursuit.
The raindrops fell and hit the ground, and a flash of thunder passed by, as if the heaven and earth had just opened. At this moment, there was a roar in Cheng Ling's mind. He murmured: "This way of heaven and earth can be verified by everyone. Everyone can achieve Tao. Heaven is not Tao. Tao is transformed from the thoughts of heaven and earth. This thought can be possessed by everyone."
"All things living in the world do not violate heaven and earth, and do not mess with yin and yang. However, the way of heaven is like a big net. The criss-crossing lines in this net are the rules of heaven and earth. No matter where you are in heaven and earth, you cannot escape in the end. Free from the constraints of rules.”
"As we practice Taoism, we either obey or resist. All life, death, and cause and effect are actually transformed by the way of heaven. And my existence first breaks this rule. In this case, what rules, what life and death, what cause and effect, everything It’s all illusion.”
"I am the way of heaven!"
Like bells in the morning and drums in the evening, Cheng Ling's shout resounded on the top of the mountain and spread throughout the Eight Sufferings Hall.
Once he understood his own way, his soul was completely open-minded, and he began to move, taking one step forward, as if he was merging into the world. Originally, with his mortal body, it was impossible to achieve such an effect, but there was an inexplicable heat swirling in his body, permeating his whole body, and he walked even faster.
His goal is a mountain, the highest mountain in the Eight Painful Palace. Only by climbing to the top can he touch the way of heaven and achieve himself.
Half a month later, he arrived at the foot of the mountain. Looking at the towering peaks, Cheng Ling took a deep breath and stepped directly up the mountain with decisive eyes.
Although he has attained enlightenment, he is still a mortal now. Step by step, even if his knees are broken and blood flows out, he climbs towards the top of the mountain without stopping. There is always an obsession in his heart that supports him to keep moving forward.
The strong wind blew but could not stop the progress, the heavy rain fell, but it could not get an inch wet, and the thunder and lightning remained motionless, as if Cheng Ling's body was protected by heaven, and all the rules of heaven could not damage it in the slightest.
Day by day, I keep moving towards the goal in my heart.
Finally... Cheng Ling reached the top of the mountain. The moment he stood on the top of the mountain, it was as if spring thunder was roaring in his ears, making his whole person feel like his soul was out of his body. Suddenly, he seemed to see something. A scene of black and white yin and yang.
"Heaven is Yang, earth is cause, the sun is Yang, and the moon is Yin. Heaven and earth, sun and moon, Yin and Yang are in harmony. My way runs through heaven and earth, and governs Yin and Yang. Give it to me!"
In an instant, Cheng Ling saw his soul separate from his body, rising slowly, touching the ethereal ways of heaven, as if he could just pick them up at his fingertips. At this moment, although he was still a mortal, his understanding of the way of heaven was beyond the perfection of the Immortal Emperor.
