Before leaving last time, Tathagata had beaten him once.
Maitreya has always kept this in mind, and seeing Tathagata still so arrogant now, Maitreya became even more angry.
"It doesn't matter if it's yours. Now I have the final say on Lingshan." Maitreya pointed at himself with his thumb and continued: "You, Tathagata, are now relegated to the second place. How dare you contradict me like this? Even I will demean you. Even in the lower world, saints won’t say anything.”
"Haha, it's a good thing if I don't belittle you, how can you still belittle me?" Tathagata continued to sneer.
Maitreya's chest kept rising and falling, and he had been beaten to the point of losing his temper by Tathagata.
If it weren't for Lingshan's current embarrassing situation, Maitreya would really want to demote this boy Tathagata to the lower realm.
"Hmph, once the control of the Buddhist scripture collectors is completed, I will demote you to the lower realm as soon as possible to see if you still dare to speak harshly." Maitreya cursed in his heart.
Seeing that Maitreya was no longer arrogant, Tathagata walked aside alone and entered meditation. In fact, he was communicating with some of his former cronies, planning his next rebellion.
I don't know how much time passed, but Maitreya probably couldn't wait any longer. He looked at Tathagata and said, "Tathagata, take out your Buddha's Light Mirror and see where the Buddhist pilgrims have gone."
Tathagata raised his head and looked at him, raised the corner of his mouth, and sneered: "How can I use the Buddha's Light Mirror casually? If you have the ability, you beg me?"
Miroku suddenly frowned.
So next, the two quarreled again.
Maitreya really wanted to drive Tathagata down to the lower world, but the last time he went to Mount Sumeru to report this matter to the sage, the sage did not show any reaction.
Therefore, Maitreya also has some concerns. If the Tathagata is really demoted to the lower realm, will the saint be angry?
After arguing for a while, the two of them felt it was boring, so they both shut up.
The other Buddhas watched this farce as if it was a lively show.
After a while, Puxian came back.
Seeing the return of Samantabhadra, Maitreya's face was filled with joy. The Buddhist monk finally had news.
However, after hearing Samantabhadra's words, Maitreya froze on the spot.
I saw Samantabhadra walking up to Maitreya, bowing and bowing, and then said, "Let me tell you, Buddha, something bad has happened."
"What happened?" Maitreya asked.
Puxian said: "Disciple found that the Buddhist scripture collector seemed to be missing. I went to Qinglong Mountain, and the news I got from there was that the Buddhist scripture collector had left half a year ago. Then I went to Baijiao Mountain, but the Jade Rabbit said I have never seen the pilgrims arrive."
"Then what?" Maitreya's face became more and more livid.
"Then the disciple speculated whether the Buddhist pilgrims bypassed Baijiao Mountain and went directly to Tongtai Mansion in Tianzhu Kingdom. However, after some investigation, there was no sign of any Buddhist monks in Tongtai Mansion."
Miroku was stunned when he heard the news.
Did the pilgrim disappear out of thin air?
"I didn't go to Baijiao Mountain or Tongtai Mansion, so where did this Buddhist monk go? Did he disappear out of thin air?" Maitreya said, counting on his fingers.
However, the secret is hidden and cannot be calculated at all.
Tathagata on the side laughed secretly. He had already informed Lin Xian that there was a trap in Lingshan, so how could the Buddhist pilgrims still come?
It's just that Tathagata doesn't know where the pilgrims have gone.
The other Buddhas around were also confused. They all showed doubts on their faces and secretly sent messages to discuss the whereabouts of the Buddhist monks.
"Damn it, where did the pilgrim go?" Maitreya's face was full of anger.
He had planned it for so long, and the trap in Lingshan was perfectly laid out, but in the end he learned that the person who wanted to learn the scriptures was missing.
Samantabhadra shook his head with an ugly look on his face, "I don't know, Lord Buddha, those Buddhist monks didn't come to our Lingshan Mountain at all. After the Qinglong Mountain disaster ended, they seemed to have disappeared."
"Impossible. If the pilgrims don't come to Lingshan, will they still be able to fly?"
The pilgrim had indeed flown away, but Maitreya had no idea where he was.
Maitreya had no other choice, and finally pinned his hope on Tathagata's Buddha's Light Mirror, and shouted: "Tathagata, you have already come to this point, why don't you take out your Buddha's Light Mirror?"
The Tathagata stood aside, unmoved. Now that he was traveling to the west, he didn't care at all.
"Are you deaf when I speak? I ask you to take out the Buddha's Light Mirror." Maitreya was so angry that his whole body trembled.
However, Tathagata still looked calm.
He looked at Maitreya, raised the corner of his mouth slightly, and said calmly: "I asked you to beg me just now, but you don't want to beg. Now even if you kneel in front of me and call me daddy, I may not even take it out."
Humiliation, Tathagata actually humiliated Maitreya in front of all the Buddhas.
Maitreya was furious when he heard this. He was the Lingshan Buddha, and he was humiliated again and again by Tathagata.
"Tathagata, how dare you openly commit the following crime? I think you are getting impatient." Maitreya yelled.
Tathagata shrugged and said, "Come and bite me."
Bang!
The lotus throne under Maitreya's throne was immediately smashed in half by Maitreya's palm.
Maitreya was really angry. If he couldn't defeat Tathagata, he would have done it long ago.
At this moment, Maitreya's eyes narrowed slightly, his teeth were grinding and cracking, and the anger in his heart could no longer be hidden.
Finally, Miroku couldn't help but burst out.
He immediately shouted: "Where are the Seventeen Arhats? I will take the Tathagata here, beat him with a thousand sticks, and then be demoted to the lower world and become an ascetic. You will not be allowed to come to my spiritual mountain for eternity."
Maitreya has completely ignored him, and now even if the saint personally comes to stop him, he will demote Tathagata to the lower realm.
However, after giving the order, his voice echoed for a long time in the main hall, but no one stood up and took action against Tathagata. Tathagata still stood there calmly and calmly.
Maitreya was stunned for a moment, then turned to look at the Seventeen Arhats not far away.
The seventeen Arhats stood there with their heads lowered, as if they had not heard his order and were not moved at all.
"Seventeen Arhats, are you deaf? I am calling you." Maitreya shouted.
At this time, the Crouching Tiger Arhat raised his head and said to Maitreya: "Please tell me, Buddha, Tathagata Buddha was kind to us back then. No matter how bad he was before, we will never do anything to him again."
"What?" Maitreya was stunned, his expression of shock was hard to describe.
It is hard to believe that the Seventeen Arhats would rather take the risk of disobeying the decree and standing on the Tathagata's side.
Maitreya really wants to say that Tathagata has beaten you before and even demoted the dragon-subduing Arhat to the lower realm. Why do you still support such a Buddha?
However, after Maitreya thought about it, he realized that he seemed to be beating people even more harshly after he came on stage.
But Maitreya would not give up just yet. He stared at the Seventeen Arhats with bloodshot eyes and said viciously: "Seventeen Arhats, are you going to rebel too?"
The Seventeen Arhats did not speak.
The meaning is obvious, the Seventeen Arhats have made up their minds to rebel.
Not speaking is the default.
Maitreya took a breath, it was unimaginable that not even the Seventeen Arhats would listen to him.
His eyes immediately looked at the other Buddhas and Bodhisattvas around him.
"What are you waiting for? This Tathagata and the Seventeen Arhats have made it clear that they are going to rebel, and you still won't let me take them down?"
However, in the Great Hall, only his roar echoed.
All the Buddhas in Lingshan lowered their heads and remained silent, as if this matter had nothing to do with them.
As for Tathagata and the Seventeen Arhats, no one took action against them.
