In the outside world, he is a respected and sacred Buddha, but in Lingshan he is just a decoration.
Especially in front of Tathagata, he was like a grandson.
"Amitabha, Buddha, I'm back." Maitreya still performed a Buddhist salute to the Tathagata.
"Do you still have the nerve to come back?" Tathagata asked as if he had already planned it.
Maitreya blinked, "What's wrong?"
"None of the four catastrophes was successfully completed. Are you pretending to be stupid with me?" Tathagata's eyes widened.

I will punish you with a hundred dragon bone whips and charge you ten acquired spiritual treasures to rush in. This anger has been accumulated in Maitreya's heart for too long. He was beaten by Tathagata just because of a smile, and he had some unpleasantness with Ran Deng. However, Ran Deng was fine, but he had to face the wall and think about his fault.
Facing this injustice, Maitreya could no longer bear it.
Seeing Maitreya's attitude, all the Buddhas in Lingshan opened their mouths in surprise.
Maitreya's submissiveness in the past was completely different from that of now, which completely subverted their understanding of Maitreya.
"Oh my god, Maitreya Buddha has swallowed the courage of a bear and openly refuted the Buddha. This is too bold." All the Buddhas had the same question in their minds.
Tathagata also showed an expression of disbelief. He did not expect Maitreya to be so bold.
"It's so outrageous. You are openly disobeying me and questioning me. Do you believe that I will demote you to the lower realm and make you suffer like Jiang Long?" Tathagata said fiercely with his eyes wide open.
Maitreya sneered, pointed at Tathagata and said, "If you have the ability, why don't you demote me and give it a try?"

He had already guessed that Maitreya and the Saint had been getting closer recently, and it was probably the Saint who had drawn a big cake for him to make him commit suicide like this.
So Tathagata wanted to take advantage of his plan.
Keeping Maitreya alive will be a disaster sooner or later, so it is better to demote him to the lower realm and deny him the chance to get close to the saint.
