Chapter 6. The first communication between father and daughter

Tired John opened his eyes. He was awakened as usual in the morning by the blinding light. When the computer light is in alarm clock mode, it will turn on on time the next morning. He forgot to turn the lights to slow-brightening mode again last night. If he couldn't solve this problem, every morning would start like this. This has been several consecutive days since the mission began. The bright lights hurt his eyes, tears welled up in his eyes, and he covered his face with his hands. Maybe this would prevent a new day from coming, and he would rather stay in the warmth of his bed, away from the outside world. But he knew he couldn't do this, he had to get up and face the day.

He currently lives alone in this room, but this is only a temporary situation. He was originally sharing a double room with Kelly, a colleague from the cabin. However, on the first day of the mission, Kelly accidentally fell on the middle level of the cabin and fell nearly three meters. While he was lucky not to be seriously injured, he suffered a spinal injury and some internal concussions. Fortunately Dr. Celia provided him with good treatment and he was left with no permanent damage. However, while waiting for recovery, Milan needs to stay in the infirmary, while John has to face the lonely days alone. How Kelly fell, no one knows. There are railings in the corridor, making it difficult for even tall people to fall from there. But the strange thing is that such an accident happened to him.

The computer chimes the time every two minutes, its voice monotonous and relentless. The machine didn't care if John was still tired. It is also incapable of sensing his emotions. These chimes will continue until someone manually turns off the alarm. In this case, verbal instructions have no effect. This is done to avoid anyone oversleeping.

John sighed, pushed the quilt away, and sat up with squinted eyes. Another bad day was ahead of him. Same as every day. The same monotonous life. Same faces, they just noticed his presence but didn't really notice him. The same feeling of loneliness as usual, with no chance of changing. After completing his work, he would return to his residence. He rarely goes to bars or lounge areas. In his opinion, what's the point of going there? He didn't actually know anyone. Although he has been on the ship for two years, he has yet to make friends. And he didn't know what to do. He didn't dare try. People were watching him on the boat and it made him feel uneasy. They seemed to see something else through him. They didn't really seem to notice him. He is an ordinary man, ordinary and unremarkable. No one will notice his presence. If he disappeared, no one would notice. Even his roommates don't really notice him.

Therefore, John avoided recreational activities and after completing his work, retreated to his residence to contemplate in solitude. Most days, he goes to bed early. What could he do at night except sleep? So day after day, month after month. Sometimes he asked himself why he continued like this. Why not change your life. But his answer to the question was all too clear. He didn't have the courage to change his life. He is afraid of the unknown. He also knows what to expect. After all, his days are always so monotonous. But what would it be like if his life changed? It could very well be better, he knew that. But the inner fear was still there, controlling his fear. His mind couldn't beat the feeling. Therefore, he continued his previous life every day. Every day felt like a burden, making him weaker and weaker. Melancholy gripped his mind and soul. He felt like he was walking in another person's body. It's like he's just a spectator, not really participating in life.

When he was younger and in high school, he was completely open and honest with those around him. Although he is not a person who takes the initiative to contact everyone, he does not shy away or avoid it. He trusts the people around him almost blindly. His family got along that way, and up until that point he had never had a bad experience with it. However, some of his classmates ruthlessly exploited his trust and naivety. They found an easy target to bully and torture. They took every opportunity to make fun of them and use him as a scapegoat. Gradually, he became the laughing stock of the school. Amidst the psychological violence of teenagers and the lack of empathy at this age, he is gradually relegated to the margins. John didn't know how to deal with this. He was completely helpless and the target of their attack. He had no chance to defend himself. They ruthlessly destroyed his self-confidence. No matter what he did, they took his pants off. In the end, they don't even have to do anything more. As he gradually lost his self-confidence, he began to laugh at himself. Still, he struggled to blend in with them. He knew no one except his classmates. But doing so just gives them more points of attack.

In the workplace, such behavior will come under increased scrutiny as harassment. Ultimately, steps are taken to eliminate the situation, if only to ensure that the productivity of the affected employees is not affected. However, among teenage students, this type of thing is often viewed as adolescent behavior. No one is taking a serious look at this situation. No one seemed to notice either. Young people will solve these problems themselves. This is just a stage after all.

However, no one knew about his inner state. No one noticed the pain in his heart, which tortured him every day. No one noticed that he was becoming more and more like a psychological beatnik. He was completely devastated. If the soul were an organ, it would atrophy and lose function over time. He repeatedly asked himself why he had to experience such a fate. Unable to protect himself, he was completely exposed to the ravages of it all. He had no chance to resist. As a cruel reality, he had no happiness. It had completely disappeared from his face. Obliterated by the cruel reality. His eyes looked empty, like the eyes of a mask. If they have any expression at all, it's that of sadness and depression. His restlessness and insecurity can be seen as he walks through life like there are no certainties. He rarely smiles. Still, he insisted on looking unmarked. Never allow yourself to appear weak. Because that would further reduce his chances of being recognized. He even blamed himself for the mistake. Maybe he's too sensitive. Maybe he was overreacting emotionally. Maybe he is the only one who sees himself as the victim. Maybe everyone has this kind of pain, but he can't handle it while others can. It was obvious that he had done something wrong. It's all just his own fault.

However, he could not stop himself from falling into a heavy melancholy. During these times, he could barely do anything meaningful. He usually just sits there with his mind wandering, lost in deep contemplation of his destiny, life, and the afterlife. In particular, thoughts about death occupied most of his thoughts. Because in those moments, what he longed for most was to die. Although he had to admit, that wasn't entirely true. What I hope most is that everything will get better. But of course he understood how ridiculous and naive this wish was. Because this wish will never come true. This wish is too idealistic. And, what counts as good? What is a good life? He himself has no idea. He had no idea about it. But if this world is so cruel that only the strongest can survive, then he can only be one of those eliminated. Life here held no joy or interest for him. However, he did not dare to take the final decision and end his life. That tiny glimmer of hope kept him from doing so. And fear. Fear and death would not bring him the relief he expected. Fear in particular kept him from doing everything right, like so many things in his life. Then he will become a complete loser in everyone's eyes. The situation was already so bad, but deep down he didn't want it to get worse.

Therefore, he persists to this day. However, things were not going well and he began to regret spending more and more of his days like this. Just like this morning. It had been a few days since he was plagued by these thoughts again. It was like a shadow fell over him, preventing him from seeing the sunshine of life anymore. He didn't even know what was causing this. This emotion comes suddenly. A feeling of lowness and emptiness. Nothing can change it. Except live with it or perish in it.

John was still sitting on the bed, but he persuaded himself to stand up. More difficult than ever. Everything seemed meaningless to him. What does it matter if he shows up at work? Maybe if he didn't come, no one would notice his absence. Probably no one will even notice. When he finally struggled to his feet, his eyes fell on the closet where his hunting knife lay. One stab into the heart and everything will be over. But he pushed the thought away again. If only he wasn't such a pathetic coward.

The computer reported the time again, and John realized it was half an hour since his work began. But it also makes little sense. By the time he put on his uniform jumper, he was already making excuses for asking Daisy, the engineer, for leave. But his numbness prevented him from thinking clearly, so he couldn't think of an excuse. He will start talking nonsense again. Just like usual.

Celia sat at her desk with a frown on her face, staring at the computer data. But she stared across the data, into the void. She knows the data like the back of her hand. Now the computer has just output the test results, and she is thinking hard about it. Did the results surprise her? She herself wasn't sure. It seemed like her mind refused to set clear expectations for this exam. So any results may surprise her. But what happens next and what’s next? Of course, she had to inform the captain. After all, it involved serious accusations made against him by this strange young woman. Now this test result makes everything clear. No more controversy, only verifiable facts. The uncertainty caused has also been resolved. Not only did she need to inform Captain Noah, but other officials as well. And more importantly, it involves the captain personally.

Celia summoned the courage to stand up. There is no point in delaying any longer. She had to tell the captain. In fact, it wasn't bad news she had to deliver. Through the ship's intercom system, she contacted Captain Noah and asked him to head to the infirmary.

Just a few minutes later, he was standing in the doorway. Noah never wanted to waste any more time and wanted to know the results as soon as possible. After all, for him, this is the most important question at the moment, because it will determine the future direction of his life. Although he told himself over and over again, even if the young woman was really his daughter, it would not change anything about the future. She is adult and independent. She certainly wouldn't listen to him too much. He has no more nurturing responsibilities. And once things are sorted out, she'll probably go back to her old life. How could she stay on the ship? She is not a member of Starfleet. She would have no duties on the ship either. And she definitely had a job that she needed to go back to. She still has friends waiting for her. His mission will be to contact her occasionally and take care of her while on Earth. What other effects would it have on his life? Noah was obviously lost in his own thoughts.

"Doctor, I hope you have brought me good news." Noah greeted, his nervousness almost written on his face. His facial expression was tense.

"Well, it depends on the angle," Celia responded hesitantly. She's still searching for the right words. But her hesitation only further strained Noah's nerves. So she just said what came to her mind. "You became a father." She smiled awkwardly at her choice of words and added, "Congratulations."

For a brief moment, Noah closed his eyes and stood still. Afterward, he couldn't remember whether he was shocked or if it was just confirmation of what he had already determined. But even though he had a guess, he still had no idea what to do next.

"That's not necessarily bad news," Celia whispered, feeling like she needed to say something to comfort him. "Having children is definitely a wonderful thing."

Noah nodded tiredly. "Yes, of course." He didn't know what else to say. She tried to comfort him, which was nice of course, but she clearly couldn't understand what he was feeling inside. Anyone who has not experienced this cannot understand.

Noah once again wondered how everything got so bad. How did he get into this situation? What went wrong? He couldn't even blame himself for it because he didn't realize anything was wrong. His girlfriend never told him anything like this happened. He was confused as to how something like this could happen. For a moment, he even had the idea that maybe someone was playing a prank on him, trying to frame him. Of course, this idea is baseless, because how can a DNA test be tampered with? But apparently, when the brain encounters information it doesn't want to accept, it immediately seeks all possible explanations.

"I have to talk to her," Noah finally said, also trying to collect his thoughts. It's time to keep a cool head. Total confusion doesn't help much now. First, he had to deal with the next step. Take it step by step. Then everything else will fall into place. There was no point in imagining where the future would lead, since he had little control over what was to come.

"You should," Celia confirmed. "Though it may take courage," she added, watching his expression. "She's a good girl at heart. Granted, a little angry. But still good. Give her some time. Give her a chance."

Noah raised the corners of his mouth, showing an uneasy smile. "After our first meeting, I hoped that I could get a chance." He still remembered that encounter. She attacked him, leaving him dumbfounded and at a loss. Of course, this time it will be different. This time he at least had a rough idea of what he was going to face.

"I can't totally deny it." Celia smiled, even though the whole situation wasn't funny at all.

Noah also had a smile on his lips, but soon became serious again. "I don't know anything about her. I don't know who her mother is, where she was born, how she grew up, I don't even know her name," he vented his frustration.

Celia looked at him pityingly. "At least I can help with a name. Her name is Tiny. She does have a last name too, but she won't tell me."

"Maybe her last name will give a clue about her mother." Noah guessed.

"Possibly," Celia nodded slowly. She recalled Tiny once mentioning that her last name reminded her of her mother. "As for the rest, at least you have enough to talk about, if you want to know it all from herself." She paused. There was one more question, she wanted to ask his permission. "Sir, I have another question that I would like to clarify to the best of my ability."

Noah looked at her expectantly and nodded slightly for her to continue.

"As you said, we don't know who her mother is yet. I had hoped to find out through DNA analysis. However, in order to do so, I would need to send a sample of Tiny's DNA to a medical center on Earth. There are Millions of pieces of DNA data, not just from Starfleet, but from many government employees, politicians, leading business people and scientists. Also from most of the settlers who immigrated there in the early days of the colony. Where to find clues The chances are slim, about forty percent. But it's better than nothing."

Noah looked at her thoughtfully. This would mean that word that he was the father would immediately reach headquarters. Secrets will not be kept. But he had no intention of keeping it a secret. No, if Tiny was his daughter, he would bravely admit it. Although perhaps there will never be harmony between them. And this request may provide confirmation of questions about her mother. Even though he had his suspicions, it didn't feel quite right overall. He needed confirmation. "Of course," he finally nodded. "Please make a request."

"Thank you." Celia nodded her thanks. Now she might be able to satisfy her curiosity. Although of course that's not her main motivation. At least she would never admit it.

"Well, I'm going to find my daughter," Noah said, more to himself actually.

"Good luck," Celia said to him. She wasn't sure if he still noticed her words. He seemed completely lost in thought.

Doorbell rang. After Tiny pressed the door switch of her room, the door to her room opened almost immediately. The door slides sideways and disappears into the wall, leaving Tiny standing directly behind the door, leaving visitors feeling momentarily at a loss. And when she saw who was standing in front of the door, he didn't react.

Captain Noah stood in front of her and subconsciously took a small step back. The hostility on her face seemed to be etched deeply into his heart. He needed to take some time to collect his thoughts. They looked at each other in silence.

"Hello, Tiny," Noah finally spoke. He felt a little uncomfortable about what to say. There was so much they needed to talk about. There is too much in the past for them to face. But now, he couldn't find the right words. On the way to her room, he had prepared every sentence in his mind that he should or could exchange with his daughter, but now it was all gone. Her rejection and anger seemed to dilute his carefully prepared words.

"Hello," she replied simply, coldly. She looked at him with hatred on her face. "So, you already know that," she said dryly.

"Yes," Noah nodded slowly. "Dr. Celia told me a few minutes ago."

"I would have guessed it. Why else would you be here and want to talk to me. You have never shown interest in me since I came here. Only now, you are forced to come." Her anger returned Rising, the sound gradually became louder.

Noah realized that he was wrong, and very wrong. Despite missing many years, he could have avoided this mistake. Of course, he claims it was his daughter who surprised and overwhelmed him. But that definitely doesn't excuse him from caring about her anymore. Especially since he was already worried about the results of the DNA test. Now that he had confirmation, he asked himself why he hadn't spoken to her before. That way, they would now be taking a step forward. And even though she wasn't his daughter, he had to take care of her. Because no matter what, there are reasons for her actions that need to be explored. And no matter what, he couldn't just throw her somewhere and not care about her future.

"Can I come in?" he finally asked, looking at her calmly.

She hesitated, seeming to actually consider whether she should let him in. Or whether he should be dismissed at the door. But in the end she chose to give in and take a step to the side.

Noah walked into the dormitory slowly. This is a standard guest dormitory. Two rooms, one with a bed, a wardrobe, a chair and the other with a small sofa, a matching table and another wardrobe. But the dormitory has no windows. Still, it's more than enough to keep guests comfortably occupied for a few days. Even the guest quarters for generals and diplomats were modestly luxurious.

Since Tiny hadn't settled in, the dormitory looked strangely unoccupied. She didn't even take her personal belongings out of her duffel bag. No books, no data disks, no jewelry. Not even clothes visible. There was only a closed overnight bag leaning against the bed.

Tiny pointed at Noah and motioned for him to sit on the sofa. Noah did as he was told, relieved to have the chance to stop pacing awkwardly. Tiny sat in a chair, deliberately distancing herself from the sofa and her father. They stared at each other in silence. While Noah was still sorting out his thoughts and seriously considering his next words, Tini stared at him coldly, and the brief silence seemed to turn into a heavy atmosphere that seemed to drag on forever.

"Tini," he finally said, for lack of a better way to start. "I don't know what to say. I'm quite surprised by the situation and..."

"Surprised?" she interrupted. Her anger was mingled with derision. "Are you surprised? That I found you? Do you think you can escape like this? There will be retribution sooner or later," she glared at him fiercely.

He looked at her confused. What is she hinting at? What are you accusing him of? "I don't know what you're talking about," he admitted, "I'm surprised to have a daughter. I don't know how..."

"Liar!" she screamed. "Of course you know me. You just want to forget."

Noah took a breath. This is a harsh accusation. And her tone was starting to make him a little angry. Still, he had to do his best to stay calm.

"I promise you, I know nothing about you. I don't even know when this happened or who your mother is." Noah defended her.

"Of course I believe you don't know who my mother is!" she said viciously, "How could you remember having fun with so many women? You can't remember it at all!"

Noah was surprised by her words. What was she referring to? How could she possibly understand him? She didn't know him at all. There must be someone around her who is misleading her. This was the only explanation for her cold attitude. Someone must have instigated her.

"All the women I've had relationships with?" Noah repeated slowly. "I've had three relationships in total, and I can remember every one of them."

"I thought your tribe would cut out the tongues of liars," Tiny said hoarsely. "But apparently this ritual did not exist. What a shame!"

"Is your mother Olive?" Noah said, hoping she couldn't hear his uncertainty. While this should be correct based on her age, such things can never be certain.

Tiny also lost her composure for a moment now. She hadn't expected this. After all, she had always assumed that his memories of her and her mother had been repressed so deeply that he really wouldn't remember anymore. But now that he recalled everything, it only confirmed his guilt. This discovery made her eyes darken again. "Of course you remember. How could I believe you could forget! After you found out my mother was pregnant, you ended up abandoning us!" she hissed with twinkling eyes.

Noah blinked in surprise. This whole situation is getting more and more ridiculous. Where did this strange woman get so much wrong information? Where on earth did she get all this information? No, it's not a strange woman, it's his daughter, he revised in his mind. "I abandoned her?" he repeated, confused and shocked.

"Have you forgotten?" She said mockingly with a dangerous tone in her voice.

"Did your mother tell you?" he asked, without responding to her accusation.

She seemed to hesitate. Didn't she want to tell him this information? Or was she angry because he ignored her accusations. "No," she finally said clearly. "I was too young to have that conversation with my mom. Then we stopped talking. I learned that from my aunt."

Noah rolled his eyes in an obvious gesture. Turns out to be Olive's sister. She always hated Noah. Or rather, she never blessed him and her sister, she was always jealous because she never had good luck with men. She couldn't bear to see her sister so happy. Apparently, she never changed those feelings and now it seems like she said such ugly things to her niece. "You don't know exactly what you know about me," he tried to explain soothingly. "Actually, it wasn't me who left your mother. Quite the contrary." This sounds a little naive.

"What? Not only do you not have enough self-esteem to admit your shame, but you also accuse my mother?!" Tini stood up angrily. This man, her father, passed the responsibility onto others. This severe humiliation only made him more shameless in her opinion.

"I only tell the truth." Noah replied, but immediately felt a little ridiculous. It was the stupidest answer he could have given. She seemed to see it that way too.

"Liar! Shameless!!!" she shouted now. Fortunately the walls carried almost no sound. "You were shameless. You abandoned my mother. You never cared about her. You just disappeared. And..."

"It's really not like that." Noah interrupted her. Her baseless accusations frayed his nerves. He had to talk her into stopping these lies.

Tiny spat on the ground. "coward!"

Noah noticed that he was starting to get angry, but he didn't even know why, probably because of her accusatory and angry attitude. But he couldn't control it. All this consumed Noah's nerves and made him slowly become angry. Sure, Noah understood how she felt, but how was he supposed to talk to her? She doesn't try to understand his point of view or even listen to a word he says. Or at least listen. So why is she here? Damn it, why did Olive never tell them they had a daughter together? Why is she hiding this? It would have been simple to reach out to him and tell him about it. A few words will suffice. If Olive didn't want to do that, she didn't have to talk to him again. But, why has she never done this? Why did she suddenly disappear then? Although there were many questions in his mind, Noah finally spoke and said, "If you hate me so much, why do you come here to find me?"

Tiny hesitated. She felt slightly embarrassed to admit her motives. "I had hoped that you would tell me the whereabouts of my mother," she finally confessed in a hushed voice. Obviously, she doesn't want to admit that she doesn't even know where her mother Olive is, but now she wants his help.

Noah slowly stood up and paced the room. Tiny stared at him suspiciously, as if expecting him to make up a new lie. Then he stopped again and looked her straight in the eyes. Her anger disappeared in this moment. He notices how beautiful Tiny is, so much so that he wonders how she could be his daughter. "You look a lot like your mother," he said absently.

The comment seemed to displease her, and her eyes narrowed, an angry gleam returning. "I don't believe you remember her!" she growled. "Of course you don't know where she is. How could I possibly imagine that you would know."

Noah sighed. He had a daughter, he had to remind himself over and over again, he couldn't believe it. It is said that seeing your child for the first time is the happiest moment in your life, at least usually. However, his child, now almost twenty, was angry and resentful of him. He would probably never have a normal relationship with her, he knew that now. And, once she leaves the ship, he may never see her again. How should he live in the future? She knew she had a daughter, but could never participate in her life. The idea was stranger than he had imagined just a few days ago. The thought made him feel very sad and filled with an unprecedented pain in his heart.

"I don't know where she is," he admitted. "But I'll do my best to find out." If he can successfully track down Olive, then he's going to have to ask her some questions. And he won't give up until he gets the answer.

Tiny stood up and walked quickly to the door. The door opened and the young woman stood beside it, staring at him defiantly. The intention to drive Noah out couldn't be more obvious. "Don't bother," she said coldly. "I'll take care of it myself. Now please leave."

"Tini, we should..." Noah wanted to say something else, but her concise gesture silenced him. Eventually, he realized that there was no further progress to be made here. He frowned, feeling an indescribable uneasiness in his heart, and left the room. He couldn't even look back at her, he was so disappointed in the meeting.

In a dark, sparsely furnished room, a lone candle burned on a low table. Although it looks quite bright in a dark environment, its light barely reaches the walls of the room. It flickered now and then, making the shadows on the wall dance. But it maintains a smooth and even burn most of the time. It is a product that has been perfected over thousands of years to create a perfect candle. It has a radiance of perfection and calm, and hopefully its fire of peace will be passed on to the viewer. However, it is not suitable for lighting purposes. But that's not its purpose either, so it doesn't matter.

In front of a candle, a man sits with his eyes closed and his face relaxed. He sat cross-legged, with his back straight. Place your hands on your knees, fingertips touching lightly.

The man is meditating. He had been sitting like this for an hour without even making a small movement. Not a muscle moved, not even a twitch in his face. Someone who watches him for a long time might conclude that he is a puppet. But that’s part of meditation, which is about practicing discipline and maintaining inner balance. Additionally, meditation helps to analyze one's emotions and bring them under the control of logic again. This requires a kind of perseverance that few possess. However, Jeffrey learned this from an early age. This is every Vulcan's training. From an early age, Vulcans are taught to control their emotions and maintain discipline. Learning the Vulcan's legendary serenity requires years of training. However, every Vulcan can do it. Because in peace, they are able to react faster, do more, and become better and better as a result. A disciplined mind can multi-task or gain more knowledge. This gives them an advantage over others. No other people in the known galaxy are more thoughtful than the Vulcans. They can analyze every situation with computer-like precision. Their decisions are based on logic rather than being driven by emotion. They know no hatred or anger, no greed or envy. Nor can madness or other negative emotions lead them to do something wrong or morally unacceptable. However, they also lack the imagination for love or joy. This is the price they pay for their discipline. Because emotional control is comprehensive. You cannot choose the good aspects alone and discard the bad aspects. This won't work. Either give up all feelings or give up none.

However, Vulcans do not see this as a disadvantage. Because even positive feelings like love can affect decision-making abilities. People often say "love makes people blind". This feeling can be like being drunk. Under its influence, people will do things they would never do in a calm mind. And, even from love bad things can come. From love may arise jealousy. From jealousy can arise a rejection of others, rejection of others and in the worst cases even anger and hatred. For Vulcans, there are no good or bad feelings. In their view, every emotion threatens the discipline of thought, inner peace, and thus mental and physical health. Only logic can bring an inner peace that few other peoples or humans can experience.

Jeffrey learned discipline at an early age and learned to cherish it. Discipline brings order in every sentient creature. Through logic and discipline, he can avoid being driven by emotions and instincts at critical moments. With close logical coordination, he can become a being beyond himself.

Of course, logic prohibits viewing other living beings as less valuable, or even comparing them to animals. Because that would be arrogance and arrogance. It's also an emotional rush, which they don't have. No, they just see other species, like humans, as species that haven't developed to that extent yet. These species are like children during their development. They may still be a little primitive and naive, but that doesn't make them any less valuable.

For Jeffrey, daily meditation is especially important. Because here, surrounded by emotional beings in addition to two other Vulcans, he had to keep his discipline in check especially well. On the one hand, because this is what he hopes to do in his heart. On the other hand, he faces many foreign emotions every day that do not exist on his home planet. There he lives among his own kind and logic. Here, it is a place of laughter, love, crying and carnival. He will face sorrow and pain, but also happiness and indulgence. The chaos of all these emotions was present on the ship, colliding with him everywhere. The other person may be happy at one moment, and may become sad, angry, or desperate at the next moment. Additionally, they lack discipline, which makes them tiring and exhausting. He needed a strong will to resist it all, and quickly extract the essence of others' words and deeds when communicating with others. I wanted to help him do this. It restored the inner tranquility, and he took the emotion that might still stay on him. Moreover, the calmness generated is almost like sleep. In this way, he needs less sleep, so that he has more time to deal with work and tasks. This is logical, rather than wandering and spending time when there is no task.

Slowly, he opened his eyes and returned from the state of meditation. The internal balance recovers again. He is ready to face the challenge with his colleagues again. "Light", he issued a instruction to the computer and immediately lit the lights in the room. Then he leaned forward slightly and gently destroyed the candle.

With excited gaze, Noah stood in front of the command chair, just like the crew on the bridge, looking at the screen amazingly. There is a planet that can be comparable to the beauty of the earth. It shines in the darkness of space, almost like a gem. However, its color seems to be intertwined between blue and green. Like the pink frosty on it, the white spots rotate around it. This is undoubtedly a vibrant and beautiful home in this bred life and its difficult universe.

As they are getting closer to the boasting father IV, more and more details appear. Therefore, it gradually lost the blue component in the color image. This seems to be more attributed to the atmosphere rather than a large -scale waters. Because the surface of this planet is almost composed of land, it is evenly distributed on the entire planet, and it is interspersed with many rivers and lakes. There seems to be no ocean here. There are no large mountains, no folding land. However, this land was almost covered with green. There seems to be no inch of land without plant growth. Life has been rooted in every corner. The planet has rich vegetation, especially the vast grasslands and dense forests. Because the planet is vertical compared to the sun, there is no seasonal change. The temperature in various regions has not changed much, so life has developed without facing huge challenges. The rivers and lakes of the water system are helpful to this because they almost surround the planets perfectly. No corners will not be covered, whether through the river or rain. Such a supply is enough to make the entire planet green. Nevertheless, according to the initial test results, only plant life develops. The temperature of the entire planet is very high, so that the pole will not freeze. The water of the entire planet can be used for recycling.

When they are close to enough distance, they will enter the winding track so that they will gradually see each side of the planet.

Although the crew still stared at the planets and occasionally glanced at the instrument, Jeffrey had devoted himself to his work. He used the remote sensor sensor for the first analysis, and he observed the planet purely for scientific curiosity. The surprise and worship of the crew was completely unfamiliar to him. These are the emotions of his race successfully controlled and excluded. According to their point of view, such emotions only dispersed attention and reduce efficiency and performance. Only logic can make individual thinking fully play. Jeffrey can indeed confirm this based on his observations. Other races, especially human beings, have spent too much energy and time to deal with their emotions and influences. They could have used these times for more important things. Surprisingly, they have raised their technical understanding to the level that is enough to fly to the interstellar. But they did not collapse in their emotional disturbances.

Jeffrey noticed that there was a footsteps approaching, and someone stood beside him. From the action of this person, he realized that it was the captain. However, he was not disturbed by it, but continued his own analysis until it was completed. Then he looked up and signaled that the captain could talk to him now.

"Mr. Jeffrell, we still have enough time to study. Please enjoy this moment. We arrived at a beautiful planet and worthy of stopping." Captain Noah said straightforwardly.

Jeffrey raised the eyebrows on the right. The captain's argument is not logical and untenable. These are human thinking methods. After getting along with humans for a long time, he has become accustomed to this way of thinking, but he can never adapt. "This is a M -level planet, who is capable of breeding our familiar life," Jeffrey replied calmly. "Compared to the number of unimpeded planets, this may be an exception, but only 1,458 other M -level planets in the federal region. According to preliminary analysis, this planet does not have any different characteristics from other planets. As for the exploration time We don't have enough time to explore it at all. Therefore, we don't have time to waste. "He paused, but continued before Noah's words," In addition, 'beauty' can be different. For me, come to me. Say, there is too little red in its appearance. "

Noah laughed slightly. This is a typical Jeffrey answer, calmly and accurately analyzed the situation, without any emotional traces. He didn't expect any different answers from this Mars. In fact, he just wanted to remind him to let him appreciate the beauty in front of him.

The reason why Jeffrey believes that the redness of the planet is more attractive because his race home -Mars. It was a dry and hot place. There are almost no water on the entire planet, and most of the water resources are below the surface. Therefore, vegetation is also very sparse and barren. All this makes Mars look like a reddish brown from the space. Because the surface of the planet is mainly composed of the desert, and it is illuminated by a large and bright central star.

"Okay, Mr. Jeffrey. What is your preliminary analysis result?" The captain asked and became serious. Because of course, Jeffrey is correct. They came here to be happy to find joy, but to complete a task.

"This planet is slightly smaller than the earth, and the rotation cycle is 22 hours. There is no sign of the planet's shell layer. Although the sensor measures the temperature of up to 3,000 degrees Celsius at the core of the planet, it indicates that the interior of the planet is liquid, but the mantle is not affected The internal activities of the planet are not as strong as other planets. Although the thickness of the mantle of the earth reaches 410 kilometers, the thickness of the planet's mantle is as high as 1,000 kilometers. There is no obvious difference between the mantle and the crust.

The lack of sector movement explains the situation of the planet surface. Without land collisions, the terrain cannot rise, so the mountains or basins cannot be formed. Usually, the larger ocean is formed by the displacement of land. Nevertheless, as we see, a climate system that allows life existence and reproduction has been formed.

The climate is from the tropical tape of the equator to the geo -green temperate. Due to the vertical axis of the planet, there is no seasonal change here. As the Mandela pointed out in the report, no larger animal creatures were found. "

"Thank you very much," Noah nodded, when Jeffrey no longer spoke. "The task of the next few weeks has been determined. Please guide scientists and coordinate with them." He told the scientific official, and then turned to the screen again to continue to enjoy the scenery of the planet. At this point, the planet is full of the entire screen. In a few seconds, they will enter the orbit surrounding planets and are expected to leave in half a year.

Then there was still a few minutes of silence, until Ingma reported that they had entered the planet track. Real scientific research tasks have begun.

Knocking the door reminded someone to stand at the door of Noah's room and want to come in. In fact, he didn't particularly want to receive visitors. He was lying on the sofa, raised his legs high, and completely fell into deep thinking. His dialogue with his daughter was still lingering in his heart. Since talking to her yesterday, every time Noah tried to communicate with her, she refused it. She seems to be not interested in continuing to deal with the problems between them. Is she satisfied with the status quo? Is the differences between them indifferent? There are many things to be solved between them, but she seems to be ignored at all. Does she just want to blame him from the beginning, rather than seeking reconciliation? But this idea was too far -fetched and naive, and he immediately abandoned it. She is 19 years old and should be mature enough to not act for such low -level motivations.

The joy in the morning when he approached the Father IV had gradually faded. Although this joy does not last long. However, when he saw the planet, he experienced his original intention to join the Star Fleet -in order to prepare a new planet so that humans could survive on it and pave the road for human permanent colonial interstellar.

But in the end, his personal problems once again occupied his brain space. Under normal circumstances, Noah is not a person who is indifferent to self -pity or is easily discouraged in front of the problem. But this problem made him extremely troublesome, because he involved his own children, it seemed that everything became more complicated and nervous. He always has stronger emotions for his child.

The doorbell rang again, reminding the people in front of Noah to not plan to leave easily. He sighed and sat up. Maybe he should go to see who is outside the door. Who knows, maybe it is Ti Ni, she may decide to continue talking with him.
