Chapter 3. Ingemar boarded the Republic

In the transfer room of the Republic starship, Dre Ingmar's skin was slightly numb, and his body was materializing in reality.

Before him, the outline of the room gradually became clearer. The opposite wall reflected the glimmer of the teleportation beam. The operation console on the wall is clearly visible, and the transmission technician standing behind monitors the transmission process. Just in front of the teleportation platform, stood a black-haired woman. Her military uniform showed that she was a commander. She had her long hair braided from her shoulders to her back. Her upright posture gave her a somewhat serious look. Her facial expression barely moves, giving her a serious look. Only her green eyes don't quite match her appearance, which generally leaves people a bit confused. In the eyes of her subordinates, she is not very emotional. Privately people joked that she must have some Martian blood. She has high demands on her crew, but is also considered fair and just.

When the materialization process was complete, the slight tingling sensation on Ingmar's skin immediately disappeared. He stepped out of the teleportation platform in two steps and saluted the female commander.

"Lieutenant Dre Ingmar reports for service," he said with military crispness.

"Welcome aboard," she replied. Her voice has a smoky note that in other circumstances might be called sexy. "I'm Gabriel Caro."

"Nice to meet you," Ingmar grinned. Ingemar has short, dark hair that is styled fashionably. Although he is still relatively young, his facial features already appear very masculine. Overall, he looks simply charming. His influence on the opposite sex was equally significant. His smile alone can make women fall for him. He is very confident in his charm and deliberately uses it to achieve his goals. And his goal is to pursue the most beautiful women. This attitude not only brought him friends, but also many enemies.

She responded with a polite smile, then immediately turned serious. "Your personal belongings have been delivered to your quarters. You will find your work schedule there. You will meet with the Captain in an hour. At two p.m. is the leadership team meeting," she informed him.

Ingmar nodded. He actually didn't feel very comfortable inside. The tone here surprised him a little, and he didn't like it very much. He knew full well that this would be his last chance in Starfleet. His new superiors knew everything that had happened in his past. So he realized they wouldn't give him a warm welcome. Commander Carol's brief approach to him, however, seemed to contain more rejection than he expected. So he didn't say much as she accompanied him to the dormitory.

His residence is relatively spacious. He has two rooms and a bathroom at his disposal. That's more than most crew members have. Since he is part of the leadership team, he enjoys more space. Regular crew members live in double quarters. Ingmar is happy that he has earned this status. He has horrifying flashbacks to that time, when he also had to share a room with a crew member. For some reason, he always had bad luck. His roommates either snore every night or are extremely messy. During the three-month mission, one of his companions even farted continuously in the room. However, he chose to ignore the problem rather than see a doctor for treatment. Especially in the morning, the air in the room is disgusting. Ingemar even negotiated with his superiors, but they didn't care. Ingemar couldn't stand it anymore, so he slept in the young women's rooms most nights. Although this also caused trouble for him, after all, all the women who hosted him for the night also had double quarters. But compared to the alternative, the hassle is bearable.

At that time, he decided to advance his career as quickly as possible. Despite his repeated conflicts, he succeeded.

Now he stands here. His dormitory was of course not decorated yet. His belongings were packed and scattered around the room, and although they weren't much, it would probably take a few hours to sort them out. He just wasn't sure if he really should do it. Who knows how long he'll be on this ship and whether he'll be able to take advantage of his opportunity.

Dre Ingmar's eyes wandered around the room. This dormitory is located on the 3rd floor, close to the perimeter. Therefore, he had a large window to look out at the stars. There is a sofa in front of the window, which is standard in the room. A small table complements the overall effect. Opposite the window, there is a wall cabinet that extends all the way to the door. A computer terminal and indoor controller are installed to the left of the door. Pass a door on the right next to the wall cabinet, leading to the second room. This room is smaller and is used as a bedroom. A bed and another wardrobe are standard.

The space inside the cabin is not very large, but it is enough. And there's an entertainment deck on board, so you can spend a lot of time outside of your dormitory.

He didn't really want to unpack and tidy up the room, so he sat on the sofa, raised his legs, and looked out the window through the cushions. However, there isn't much to see outside. The ship is inside a space station, so it cannot see Earth. Ingemar could only look at an iron-grey wall, nothing particularly interesting. But the monotony of the scenery at least didn't distract him, so he lost himself in his own thoughts. He imagined what life would be like on this ship.

He sat until the computer reminded him of his meeting with the captain. Then he slowly stood up and prepared to go. There were still five minutes left before the meeting, and he was not far from the captain's office. He just had to take the elevator up, so he still had time. Still, inner unease pushed him forward. He never wanted to turn the captain against him on the first day, even though he usually liked to be rebellious. But he knew full well that if he fell out with the captain on the first day, his last chance would be doomed.

He went up a floor and exited the elevator again. The second level is located in the center of the hull, slightly higher. Therefore, this cabin has a smaller area compared to the floors below. Here there are three conference rooms, emergency toilets for the ship's personnel, and the captain's watch room, where the captain can have confidential conversations with the crew or communicate via space communications. Furthermore, if the captain does not need to be present on the bridge, he can work quietly here.

Two of the three meeting rooms wrap around the perimeter of the hull and are located along the exterior walls. Therefore, looking out from there provides a view of space outside the hull. But there’s often no time in meetings to enjoy the view. One of the conference rooms is reserved for the leadership team and cannot be used by other crew members. The third conference room is located in the center of the hull and is circular in shape and therefore has no windows. In addition to the two large conference rooms on the outer wall, there is also the captain's small office.

Ingmar stopped hesitantly in front of the elevator. He was two minutes ahead of schedule, but he didn't want to disturb the captain just yet. So he had to find a way to kill time. Although the selection here is limited. The corridor in front of him was white, no different from the corridors on other floors. The only difference is that there are fewer people here. Only when a meeting is set up will the corridors become briefly crowded as attendees stream to the conference room or back again. So Ingemar had nothing to do but wait for these two minutes to pass. When the appointed time finally arrived, his mood had become dull.

When he walked into the sensor range of the cabin door, he immediately heard a powerful "come in" sound. Then the door slid open with a slight scraping sound. Captain Noah is sitting behind his desk, turning off the screen. He had just looked at the data on his newest crew. Although Ingmar would have guessed this, Noah didn't feel the need to let him know directly.

Noah stood up and walked around the desk. Then he extended his hand in a friendly manner and said to Ingmar: "Welcome to the fleet, Mr. Ingmar." His voice sounded absolutely sincere.

Dre Ingmar was a little surprised. The first is Noah's appearance. Noah exudes a great sense of authority without appearing arrogant or arrogant. On the contrary, he gives people a kind feeling. He looks fit and athletic. But the most surprising thing was his hair. They shone silvery gray and were slender. In the fleet, it is quite unusual for a captain to have long hair, unless the captain is a woman. This made Ingmar gain more respect for Noah. It's not that Ingmar likes long hair on men, quite the opposite in fact, although it seems to suit the Indian quite well. But because Noah did it, even though it might not have been a good thing in the eyes of the admirals. So Noah was also a rebel in a way who was unwilling to accept all the rules. That way, he might understand Ingemar better. At least that's what Ingemar hopes.

"Thank you very much," Ingmar said politely. "I'm honored to be here."

Noah smiled and offered Ingmar a seat in the corner of the room. A small table is placed here for informal personal conversations, allowing both parties to sit diagonally across from each other. This way, the table doesn't become a symbol of power like a desk, which sometimes makes sense in certain conversations but can hinder the flow of conversation in other situations.

After sitting down, Noah started talking. "According to your file, you have served on many ships. For a relatively short period of time, this is already a good choice. I know the official version. These are all in your personnel file Record it in detail." He paused to let his words take effect. Indeed, they worked. Ingmar felt the temperature in the room drop. What a great start. The captain immediately pointed out his mistake. Clearly, he had no interest in giving Ingmar another chance.

"But I also want to tell you that I will not evaluate your performance based solely on documentation," Noah continued, to Ingmar's relief. "For me, only the performance you show from today will be considered. That's the only thing I can assess."

"Thank you very much," Ingmar said, because he didn't know what else to say. If what Noah just said was true, then he did have a real chance.

But Noah raised his hand to signal him not to be too dismissive. "Don't relax too much, Mr. Ingmar. Your position is third on the ship, after Commander Carol and me. This means you bear great responsibility. Due to your past mistakes, you will undoubtedly Getting more attention than anyone else. Not just from me, but from other members of the crew.”

Ingmar swallowed and nodded, but his face remained determined. Noah's words did not mean rejecting him from the beginning. Maybe his career will slow down a little bit, but that won't be a big deal. For his age, he has achieved a lot. Not everyone can become a captain at the age of thirty like James Kirk. Maybe it would be good for him to slow down and have the opportunity to gradually adapt to the role. "I understand, Captain," Ingmar finally said. "I will do my best to take advantage of this opportunity. I will not let you down." He himself was a little surprised at what he said. He actually didn't want to give in so much at first. But Noah's presence was so impressive that he couldn't help but say so.

A smile appeared on the captain's lips. "I'm very happy to hear that." It's not easy to tell whether Ingmar's words are credible.

They continued chatting for a few minutes about the ship's daily routine, time sheets, and personnel. These are just brief, surface-level messages through which Noah can convey something to Ingemar. Additional information will be presented to Ingmar by Commander Carol. She would introduce him to his duties. In this way, the first conversation ended quickly. There will be more contact over the next few months before it becomes clear whether Ingemar can put his money where his mouth is. Noah wasn't sure about that. Ingmar's impression, while not bad, was at least better than expected based on the profile. But his past actions still linger in Noah's mind. No matter how much he wanted to be absolutely objective, he couldn't erase it.

Dre Ingmar walked through the cabin hallway. His destination was the infirmary. Captain Noah reminded him that he still needed to undergo a medical examination. While all Starfleet members are required to undergo such inspections on a regular basis, additional inspections are required when changing ships. Ingmar hated the program. He thought it was pure nuisance. What problems can be found through such an inspection? He is young, healthy and full of energy. This is true in every way. In his view, these constant checks were unnecessary. They are just there to annoy the crew. But rules are rules. So he had no choice but to comply.

In fact, he was more worried about the encounter with the Republic's Ms. Celia than the inspection itself. Celia is one of Dre Ingmar's old flames. When he saw her name on the crew list, he immediately thought of her. This only happened a few days ago. Of course, he doesn't remember every one of his women. Especially strangers who only last one night are sometimes not worth remembering. But Celia was different. They stayed together for eight months. For Ingemar, it was almost forever. She is almost Ingmar's ideal candidate for a relationship. But ultimately, he felt trapped and restricted. This was a feeling he didn't like. So he ended the relationship abruptly, leaving her very hurt. An ugly quarrel ensued between them, and he never saw Celia again.

The news that Ingemar found out that he would be serving alongside her was almost worse than any disciplinary action he had suffered before. So far, he hasn't met any of his old flames. He didn't know how to handle the situation, he had expected the worst. If Celia was still angry with him, that was to be expected, but he had no guarantee that Celia wouldn't cause him trouble. After all, it was obvious which side the captain would take in a dispute. She's the doctor, and he's just the whiny guy who's been moved around because he's never completely followed orders anywhere. To avoid such a scene with her on the ship, he immediately got in touch with her. He wanted to clarify their relationship beforehand and negotiate a truce. After all, since they are both part of the leadership, they are bound to inevitably interact with each other.

They met two days ago in San Francisco. They were a little awkward with each other. Even the greeting was a bit stilted. I only said a simple "hello" and no more words. Which wouldn't be surprising, if they remembered that the last words exchanged between them were screams. Later, they slowly relaxed. They strolled along the Golden Gate Bay and enjoyed the California sunshine. They talked about what they had done since then. And there's been a lot of speculation about their upcoming mission. They even rediscovered their matching sense of humor and laughed a lot. They didn't talk about their shared past. Finally, they both think they can get along on the boat now. After all, they were both nearly a decade older than they were at the time, which made professional collaboration between them easier. Still, it may take some time before they can be completely carefree together again. And in the beginning, every meeting will feel like a new beginning.

Celia was already there waiting for him. She directed him to lie down on a bed. "Now you're totally listening to me," she tried to joke, but her voice sounded stiff.

Ingmar grinned. "Don't talk empty words."

She squinted at him, regretting giving him a chance. But she didn't say anything. Instead, she picked up her tools and began inspecting Ingmar. She worked silently. Ingmar didn't speak either. He usually cracked jokes, but this time he remained silent. It's like they need to find out more about each other, even though they had reached a consensus the last time they met.

During the examination, Ingmar secretly observed his ex-girlfriend. Even though nearly ten years have passed, little has changed about her. She is as young as he is. She has sleek blonde hair that reaches her shoulders. Her slender face has a pair of humorous blue eyes. She was very attractive, Ingmar remembered clearly, but her slim figure was not visible under the uniform.

Dr. Celia showed no emotion after analyzing the data collected. On the screen in front of her, data was laid out in a row. To someone like Ingemar, who knew relatively little about medicine, these data meant absolutely nothing. But for doctors, the data form a clear picture.

Ingmar stood behind her. He was slightly taller than her, so he could easily see over her shoulders. A chill ran down the back of Celia's neck, and she felt a little nervous. She felt he was standing a little too close. She was worried that he would touch her soon. But he still had enough grace not to touch her.

"There's nothing wrong with the physical examination, look, right?" Ingmar said confidently.

"Yes," she nodded slowly, "almost."

He took a step back and she breathed a sigh of relief.

"Almost?" he repeated in disbelief.

Celia turned to him, with a hint of derision in her blue eyes, "Your liver function has dropped, is it the wild party?"

He didn't answer, just showed a meaningful smile.

"You are still the same, never missing any opportunity to celebrate," she shook her head in frustration.

"Now that I'm on Earth, I have to take advantage of this opportunity. And it's not as wild as you think," he responded innocently. His sincere gaze touched her deep inside again, although this time it felt more like friendship.

When he was about to turn around and leave, a new idea suddenly came to his mind. "Are these issues enough to warrant me calling in sick? Let's say a week?"

"You're going to call in sick when you first get on the ship?" She looked at him in disbelief.

Ingmar shrugged, "I just finished my last mission four days ago, so I haven't had a real vacation yet. It's only fair that I can rest for a few more days."

Celia shook her head, only Ingmar would think of such a thing. And calling this fair is really too arrogant, and it is also his typical style. He seemed completely unconcerned that such a start would make him less popular. This is why he always attracts negative attention.

"I'm sorry, but I don't agree," she said coldly, then turned to the computer.

"This is just a try," he said seemingly helplessly. He approached her again.

"I thought maybe by..."

"Forget it, Ingmar," she interrupted him flatly. "Those days are gone."

Ingmar was silent for a moment, then said, "I understand. I'm sorry." He paced a little uneasily. A strange uneasiness that he was unfamiliar with came over him. She was still carrying him, as if she didn't intend to face him. She ignored him completely.

"If there's nothing else, I'll leave now. We'll see you later." He said and left the room in a hurry.

Celia watched him go. Even though everything that happened is in the past, she still has some feelings for Ingmar. No longer love, but a feeling of friendship. At least she hoped so. She never wanted to be involved with him again, this was her firm determination.

When he abandoned her, she hated him with all her heart. She hates him and would rather kill him with her own hands. At the time, she thought she never wanted to see him again. However, as time passed and her inner anger subsided, she began to see that time from a different perspective. Sure, Ingmar is a jerk and a selfish idiot, but maybe his problem isn't entirely personal. All women at that time worshiped him. This is still true. This may have made him get carried away. She had limited knowledge of Ingmar and no knowledge of his past. He doesn't like to talk about it either. She respects that. But maybe something happened during that period that made him like this. Of course, that doesn't excuse his behavior, but it might be an explanation.

When she learned that he had been assigned to serve on board the Republic, she felt mixed emotions. On the one hand, they share a common past, which is an unchangeable fact. But on the other hand, she was kind of looking forward to seeing him again. She had a strange expectation of a possible rekindling of friendship between them, even though her reason was clear that that was not possible. But when Ingmar contacted her, it seemed that expectation was confirmed. Although the initial meeting was not smooth and not as simple as she expected, it was a fresh and promising beginning. Ingemar also looked different. He still boasted about himself and exuded strong confidence, but she felt that he had also experienced some human experiences and left some imprints of the years. He was less arrogant, cracking jokes a lot, and Celia thought this day was the best in a long time. She is no longer in love with him, but she knows now that they have a special connection. Maybe this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

Two days later, Otis received his nomination papers. A messenger delivered them to his office in the center of the city. He hurriedly signed the document to acknowledge receipt and was alone again. He had already fired two of his previous employees, and now the office was much quieter. But his own work became busy. He now begins to wonder whether the two employees were fired prematurely. Because some things had to be put on hold, he simply didn't have enough time to do it all. He just glanced at the papers and threw them on a table. Just as he was about to return to other tasks, he suddenly stopped. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw something strange on the document. He returned to the table and picked up the papers. He scanned it quickly but found nothing to confirm his suspicions. However, he was sure he had seen something amiss before. An inner uneasiness came over him that he couldn't explain. So he sat down at his desk and read the documents word for word, intently. Although he actually had other things to do, he knew he couldn't rest easy until he was sure there was something wrong with the documents.

In a short period of time, he almost finished reading the first page, but he also discovered a problem. His term as a member of Parliament is indeed five years. So Stewart was not wrong in what he said in Parliament. This discovery was like a heavy blow to him. They took advantage of his willingness and commitment. Five years is more than twice the length of a typical term. It might also be easier to change this if he immediately challenges it in Parliament. It's almost too late now. He felt like a fool for believing that Stewart had just made a slip of the tongue two days ago. Even though he knew from the beginning it wasn't that simple, he deluded himself into believing that possibility. But he will never give up easily. He will keep fighting until this is corrected.

Otis angrily threw the papers on the table and slid his chair over to the computer terminal. He quickly opened his communication tool and called the parliamentary leadership office. After a while, a female voice appeared and politely asked him how he could help.

"I am Otis, a member of the Assembly, and I want to see the leadership of the Assembly immediately," he demanded over the phone, barely suppressing his anger. He didn't want to vent his anger on this woman, after all she was not the source of the problem.

"Ah, Mr. Otis." There was an obvious familiarity in her voice, even though he was sure he had never spoken to this woman before. "I'm sorry, but Mr. Stewart is in a meeting and cannot be interrupted," she told him with a faux friendly smile.

"How long will this meeting last?" He felt his anger continuing to grow. Stewart had caused all this for him, so he should take some time to deal with it immediately.

"I can't say for sure, but I don't think he's even going to answer the phone today," she replied.

"Where is his representative?" he asked. He will not be rejected easily.

"They are also at this meeting and will not provide services today." She was still polite, but her voice gradually took on a cold tone.

"All five representatives were at the meeting?" He couldn't believe why this man had any representatives.

"Yes, all five are here," she confirmed tersely.

This is ridiculous. Know what's going on here. Stewart and the trusted men around him knew exactly how they were deceiving Otis and exploiting his ambitions. Now no one dares to admit this behavior and face him. They were all avoiding him. But Otis is less than two weeks away from leaving this planet. They couldn't keep avoiding him. Until then, Otis will never give up. If he keeps up the pressure long enough, maybe they'll listen to him. Even if it's just because they want Otis to stop bothering them once he's gone.

"Then tell Mr. Stewart that I called him and asked him to get back to me," he said brusquely.

"I will," she promised, but Otis didn't believe her.

He didn't say anything more and hung up the call. He knew it wasn't polite, but every word he spoke made him more angry, and he didn't know how much longer he could endure it. He slapped the table with his palms. No, he will never sit still and wait for death. Now, they were about to see his power.

Along with Celia, Dre Ingmar walked into the conference room of the Republic. Ingmar wanted to hear from her about the upcoming Republic mission before the meeting. In this way, he can prepare in advance, react appropriately to the captain's words, and leave a calm and calm impression. To his dismay, however, Celia had no idea what they were about to face. Therefore, he had no choice but to endure it.

When they entered the conference room, other senior officials were already there. Ingmar saw some unfamiliar faces. Among them are Captain Noah and Commander Carol. He didn't know the other four people yet.

The most striking is a creature slightly over two meters tall, with green skin that covers its face like reptilian leather. In the throat area, the skin folds, like an iguana's. Its face looks a bit like a chameleon. Even its eyes, one on the left and one on the right of its head, can move independently. It's mesmerizing to watch. Or her? Gender is not obvious. Ingemar just hopes the creature doesn't use its long, flexible tongue like a chameleon to catch food. Then there may be live, palm-sized insects. Just thinking about it doesn't do much to whet your appetite. However, the question of whether the creature could change color like a chameleon was so amusing to Ingmar that he had to restrain himself from laughing out loud. The creature is introduced as Lieutenant Hogan, the ship's helmsman. And called him "Sir." So the issue about gender is solved. Answers to other questions will only be available at a later date. When Ingmar held out his hand in greeting, he noticed that Hogan had only two opposite clawed fingers, and a smaller, shrunken third. Apparently a relic of his race's evolution.

Next, a curly red head greeted him, introducing himself as Chief Engineer Alva Daisy. Ingmar noticed that she was a rather attractive woman, but about ten years older than him. It's not a temptation for him. But she comes across as friendly and lively.

Lieutenant Ted, the security chief, was about the same height as Ingmar, but his shoulders were broader and his build was more muscular. He looks like he can lift someone up with ease and take them down without hesitation. Next to him, Ingmar felt rather unathletic, even though that wasn't the case. After all, he used to be proud of his body, as he regularly participated in fitness sessions on his previous ship. But when he saw Ted, he knew he still had a lot of work to do. Ted has a square face but a friendly smile. Of course, he also knows how to be unfriendly, he is the security chief after all. His eyes and white teeth contrasted sharply with his dark skin. The characteristic short hair on his head is neatly cut. His handshake was firm but not excessive. Apparently he knows how to control his powers.

The last person was a tall, slender woman with long, curly hair that shone an interesting chestnut color. She is slender, almost fragile, and her movements are graceful and light. Her skin has a slight green tint that matches her personality. Her eyes shone with a silvery light, a color Ingmar had never seen before. Overall, he had never seen anyone from Ursa. This race is considered very closed and conservative. Very few Ursa planets leave their home planet for a career. Even on other planets, they rarely appear. If you want to trade with them, you must go to their planet.

"Lieutenant Vader, communications officer," she introduced herself. Her voice sounded sweet and seductive. Ingmar couldn't help but think of the old legends about those female creatures with such charming voices that could confuse the crew and make them deviate from their course, eventually causing them to run aground on the rocks. Vader could almost be such a woman. Her eyes can captivate people.

"Now that you've gotten to know each other, please sit down," Noah called out, taking control of the situation again. He himself sat at the head of the long table.

This conference room is located on a deck below the bridge. Since this deck is also slightly above the level of the lower level and is relatively small, these rooms also have windows looking out. The shape of the room is long, matching the curvature of the entire deck. The entire length of the room is only slightly longer than the table, which can easily accommodate ten people on either side, but only one person on either end of the table. Typically, the most senior officer, usually the captain, will sit at one end of the table. Behind this chair, a screen is mounted on the wall so that images can be displayed during meetings or to communicate with other departments or other ships. Normally, this room is reserved for the command team only. Each department has other meeting rooms. In addition, it is used for diplomatic receptions and meetings with representatives of other species, but this rarely happens on the Republic.

On Noah's right, with his back to the window, sat Vice Captain Gabriel Carol. Next to her sat Alva Daisy, and then Vida. Ingmar himself sat on Noah's left, looking at Daisy. Next to him sat Muse Celia, then Hogan and Ted. Everyone turned their attention to the captain.

Noah begins reporting on his meeting with Admiral Ohn. He conveyed the admiral's praise and recognition for the performance of the previous mission. But when he announced the Republic's next mission, there was little enthusiasm. No one wants to spend months babysitting some scientists. Daisy did not hide her opposition to this.

"Captain, does it really have to be like this? When can we explore the universe again? Unknown space, new galaxies, new miracles?" Daisy expressed everyone's thoughts.

"This is a research mission," Noah responded. "We will explore Kuafu IV, an unknown answer." A sly smile appeared on his face, seeming to be teasing Daisy.

She rolled her eyes. "That's not what I meant. I am happy to leave this kind of detailed research work to others. Our mission should be to explore a planet, spend a few days doing research, and then continue flying." She raised her hands helplessly. "If it was a planet with intelligent species, sophisticated technology and a certain civilization, that would be fine. But now it's just a rock in the universe with a few flowers growing on it."

"But it's a pretty big chunk of rock," Noah said with a wry smile. He became serious. "This is our order, and we will carry it out. On the way to Kuafu IV, we will also make two turnarounds. First, we will go to Andoria to pick up our science officer. Mr. Jeffrey is currently there. Of course, in such a research mission, our Vulcans are absolutely indispensable." The captain barely concealed a sly smile. He was clearly excited to have Vulcan join the team of scientists and have them deal with the calm and logical Vulcan. He wanted to see how scientists, who were often very narcissistic, would react when Jeffrey tore up their results because they were not detailed enough in his opinion. With his cool Vulcan ways and attention to detail, where he considers even a hundredth of a percent important, he can drive a person crazy with ease.

"Finally, we will also host two crew members aboard Starbase 478," he continued. "Then we will spend the next six months in Kuafu IV." A sadistic smile accompanied these words and he said to the chief engineer.

"That sounds like so much fun," Daisy muttered glumly.

Noah ignored her objection. Instead, he turned to the security supervisor Ted. "Prepare some lives for our guests. And they should be able to enter the laboratory freely."

"Yes, captain," Ted nodded slowly. Although his security officials have to provide guests with services from time to time, he still does not like this task.

"In addition, each scientist's landing operation must be accompanied by a security team," Noah said. "At least a few weeks ago. Although this planet is considered safe, we still know too little to ensure that it is really safe."

"There will be a team standby all day long," Ted promises.

"Maybe there are vicious plants there," Daisy murmured, but his voice was not small, letting everyone hear it.

Noah nodded to Ted, then put his hands on the table, and looked around. There was a hint of light in his eyes. "Because in this task, most departments will be relatively idle. I have arranged some training and training."

There was a slight complaint on the table, and people's eyes turned. No one is excited about such prospects. Although the participants recognized the purpose of these measures and saw the meaning. But thinking that something makes sense, it does not mean that it must be excited. Everyone knows that employees do not have much interest to participate in such training. In fact, it is surprising that although the participants usually claim to have something to help from daily work, few people like these training beforehand.

"We will provide extensive training content. From the behavior of the first contact, until the pressure management of the workplace, it will cover a general part. It has been a few years, "Noah continued, and did not care about his officials. After all, he has expected this. Moreover, if he honestly said that he had a similar response to the invitation to the headquarters. But he felt that these training was very necessary, otherwise he would feel sorry for the position of captain. He continued, "Then, there will be professional training for various departments, especially for various professional fields. For example, there is a new component in the replicator. At present Understand. I hope to reduce the existence of this single knowledge. At the time of crisis, everyone must be able to go up for others. "

"This is already very good," Daisy responded gloomily. The captain's request was regarded as a criticism of her people, and she couldn't ignore it. Their team collaborated perfectly before that.

"Now, we can only better prepare for the upcoming Republican task." The Captain's tone showed that this problem is not worth discussing. He has made his decision. Of course, he also knows that some people may have objected to some of the upcoming training content. But he would not compromise. Because he would never want to be bored in the next few months. In this way, at least everyone will be busy, even those who are not directly related to the task. Such training effects are not the most important.

Daisy resisted the response, but nodded simply. She understands that she has said enough. She never wants to weaken the authority of the captain. This has never been her purpose.

The captain glanced at the people present and saw no one wanted to express his opinions, so he decided not to continue this topic. He conveyed some matters to other officers and ended the meeting. Participants stood up and left the room clearly. Before starting, everyone has a lot of things to do.

After leaving the conference room, Ingma and Silia walked out of the elevator together. When they were alone in the elevator, others could not hear their conversation, Ingma turned to her colleague Silia. "It just moved from one trouble to another," he murmured dissatisfied.

"What?" Silia looked at him in doubt. She didn't understand what he wanted to say.

"This mission." When he thought of this, he turned his eyes. "I got a boat, and the last task of Colombia was to escort the delivery ship near the Borders of the Room Lan. Four long months. You can't imagine something more boring than this. In the whole time, what happened. Nothing happened. Nothing at all. The Room Lan did not show up at all, and no one was interested in those cargo ships. "

Dr. Silia looked at him with doubt. "You should be fortunate. Who knows if the Rooman people attacked you, will you still stand here now." She couldn't believe that he really hoped that such a thing would happen. No one will hope so much.

"That's at least not so boring." He shrugged. "I can stick to it, just because I think that the next mission will definitely be better. But this is the case now." He pointed to the conference room. "It sounds worse. As a nanny for a few scientists. We will be bored." He performed quite dramatic in tone and the effect was not bad.

Silia laughed. "It should not be so bad. We will have the opportunity to study. This is the point. I don't know why everyone feels so bad." She looked at him with big eyes.

"It may not be so bad for you. After all, you will have things to do. You can study a large number of new diseases, bacteria and other things." He retorted. "But most people on board are not researchers."

She realized that what he said was not completely unreasonable. But she didn't want to see so pessimistic. The captain will try his best to make everyone busy, and no crew will be bored. In contrast, Silia would rather choose a peaceful task, not fighting, destruction and death.

The elevator stopped and the door opened. The empty corridor is in front of them. Silia took a step forward, but stopped at the door. "Actually, you should be fortunate that it is not a researcher. Because when I need to study diseases, bacteria, and other things, you can take a vacation on this planet. And maybe there are some on the planet for some suitable for you and beautiful ladies to spend a happy time with the beautiful lady. The place of time. "She frowned at him, hoping that he would not take her words as an invitation.

There was a cunning in his eyes. A slight smile on his face. "I haven't thought of this yet. I will have enough time to find this place. Now I just need to find out what beautiful women on the boat." This idea seemed to make him happy, and his eyes flashed in his eyes.

The doctor pretended to be angry and shook his head. Ingma obviously has not changed. She mocked his thoughts secretly. But at least he is full of hope now. "You still have a few days until we reach that planet." She took a step back and walked out of the elevator. "Before that, you will definitely know most of the crew."

"You can also show me the medical data of the crew, there must be photos in it," he shouted to her, and then the elevator door closed.

Silia slowly turned around. The corner of her mouth was still smiling, and this made her look a little confused. When she turned a curved alley and almost hit another lady, Silia cleared her throat and apologized. She has always been thinking and could not see the lady in time. When she continued, she glanced back briefly. The lady was very beautiful and was a lieutenant according to the rank of the uniform. Her long blond hair is in line with the taste of Ingma. If the lieutenant associated with him, she would not be surprised. Perhaps Silia should warn other female crew members to be careful of Ing horses. Just to ensure that no one will experience the same thing as her.

When he walked into the bridge, Noah felt stomach peristalsis, which was a good feeling. A sense of departure and expectation. A feeling that restores everything. Today is the day. The Republic is about to start a new task. Although most crew members think that this task is boring and annoying, it is important to start again. He returned to his boat and set off between the interstellar. Only here he really feels comfortable. This is a feeling of freedom and independence, which makes him like it. In the dead universe, walking in the galaxy of life is free and independent.

Of course, he knew he was not really independent. He has his order, must follow, and can be contacted by his superiors at any time. The message sent through the Asian space is much faster than the speed of light.

As an example, the news will be passed at a speed faster than any ship. Although the Republic can reach WA in a short time

The speed of P 9 (a new USS Excelsio

Can even reach WA

P 9.5), but these are just emergency speeds. This speed will bring too much burden on the promotion system and energy reserves and cannot be continuously used. But this is not the case for news. Once sent, the message will continue to move forward at the same speed. Therefore, every message of his superior usually has only a short delay, and the longest is only a few hours of delay. Sometimes he is jealous of the early captain of the sailing boat. They are really free. Once they go to sea, they may be almost unable to contact for several days or weeks or even months. But they also have other problems, and they must be more difficult. This state is actually better now.

He was sitting on the command chair. His gaze looked around the entire bridge. Everything is ready, all senior officials are present. Only the position of the scientific officer Jeffrey is still empty. They will pick him up in Antolia and have another scientist.

From the officials of the officials, the captain can see them excited as he is as of his start. Almost all crew members are like this. He could not detect any emotions on the driver Hogan's changeable face. Noah has never seen his emotional performance, although he has learned about this crawling creature for nearly three years. But about this creature, he almost knew nothing. Except for him may be the only individual in his race. No one knows his race. According to the archives of the Star Fleet, he is from the four -quadrant of Delta, about 70,000 light years from here. The ships far away from the federal have never been there. Because even if you move forward at the highest speed, it takes at least 80 years to travel there. This is completely a utopian idea. Hogan said his world was attacked by cubic spacecraft. He successfully escaped a small spacecraft. He couldn't explain how he came to the four -quadrant of Alpha. When he was eventually discovered by the Star Fleet, the spacecraft was too small to be used for such long flights. Therefore, people think he entered the four -quadrant of Alpha through a space tunnel. At the beginning, the relevant personnel doubted this. No one can confirm Hogan's statement. He may be spy. Therefore, he was detained for about a year. It was not until General Navy and scientists believed his story that he released him. Because Hobal did not know where to go, he applied to the Star Fleet. Therefore, in the end he was sent to the Republic after successful training.

Although Hogan appeared on the bridge, he rarely spoke and did not seek contact with the crew, so it was not known about his situation. Most people speculate that he may just join the Star Fleet, hoping to find a way home in this way.

"Lieutenant Ingle, did we get a take -off license?" Noah didn't want to wait any more, he eager to feel the vastness of the universe again.

"Received, chief." The young lieutenant replied immediately.

Noah nodded with satisfaction. It's time to go. "Mr. Hogan, unlock the docking card, and then take us out."

"Followed, the chief." The crawling creature murmured, and the sharp claws moved on the console.

The connection channels of the supply pipeline and the space station are separated, the huge caliper at the fixed spacecraft position is opened, and the republic is about to be released. With the help of motor jets, the ship slowly turns slowly in a huge space station. Although there is enough space, this is still a tricky manipulation. Because as long as you deviate a little bit, you may collide with the wall of the space station. This will be a disaster for spacecraft and space stations. Although spacecraft and space stations will not be destroyed because of this, damage will still be huge.

"Set the route of boasting Father IV, the speed is WA

p 5. "Noah issued orders. As the spacecraft completed the steering and drove towards the door to the outside of the space station, the situation was not so nervous. These doors were designed for larger ships. After a few seconds, the Republican number was only a few seconds later, the Republican number was the Republican number. It entered the free and bright universe and began to accelerate sailing.
