The First Emperor combined military and state power into one body, and he really had everything to do. Half a year passed. One night, he was reviewing documents in the imperial study room. Because he was sleepy, he fell on the desk and took a nap. Suddenly he heard a clanking sound from the sword stand. After the emperor woke up, he saw a beam of light on the tip of the sword reaching straight into the sky. It turned out that he had two swords, one was Lu Lu, which was used when he assassinated Jing Ke. Because the sword blade was too long and could not be pulled out of the sheath, he put the sword away in a high cabinet and no longer wore it. Later, he changed to a short sword named Tai'a and wore it on his body. When the First Emperor saw this vision, he summoned his favorite minister Song Wuji and asked him why the sword made noise. Wuji said: "Your Majesty's sword absorbs the essence of heaven, earth, sun and moon. This energy is called sword energy!" The emperor was happy, so he took the sword in his hand and said with pride: "I want to patrol the east and use this sword to subdue the southeast." Yun Qi, what do you think?" Song Wuji said: "I heard that King Wei of Chu buried Jin people in Fanli City to suppress the king's Qi, so he changed the name of Fanli City to Jinling City. Your Majesty is a proud man of heaven. If you follow the example of the ancients, Isn't it possible to subdue Yun Qi?" The emperor was extremely happy.
One day in the summer of the twenty-seventh year of the First Emperor's reign, this great human king began his second grand tour in his life. This time he ordered Zuo Prime Minister Wei Zhuang to assist Fusu and Wei Liao to guard the capital. Then he led hundreds of officials and a large group of people out of Hangu Pass and walked eastward, and soon arrived at Xue County. There is a mountain in Zouxian County of Xue County called Mount Yi, and the First Emperor climbed Mount Mount Yi. While admiring the scenery, he asked happily: "Tell me, what are the allusions here?" Wang Wan replied: "During the Spring and Autumn Period, Duke Wen of Zhu once moved the capital to the south of Mount Yi, and the ancient ruins still exist today." Qin Shihuang disdainfully said. He said: "The king of a small country is not worth mentioning?" He ordered Li Si to compose an inscription and inscribe it on a stele. The content was the last words of the first chapter, which was also the first stone inscription, and was called "Stone Carving on Mount Yi".
Then the First Emperor came to Lu County, the hometown of Confucius, to look for Confucius' descendants. At that time, the ninth generation grandson of Confucius, Kong Yu, came to pay his respects. Kong Yu, also known as Ziyu, was the son of Kong Qian, the former Prime Minister of King Anxi of Wei Dynasty, and the brother of Kong Teng. The emperor discussed poetry, books and education with him. Kong Yu quoted from scriptures and answered fluently. When the emperor saw that he was knowledgeable and knowledgeable, he gave him the title of 'Wentongjun'. For a time, the Confucian disciples were extremely prosperous. But at this time, many literati suggested that the emperor hold a Zen ceremony in Taishan and Liangfu Mountains. When the emperor heard about the conferment of Zen, he thought: Mount Tai is known as the Lord of the Five Mountains. Since ancient times, sage kings and sage kings have held the ceremony of conferring Zen on the mountain to achieve their merits of repaying heaven and deeds to earth. If I can also use the title of Zen to summon the officials of Shandong, firstly, I will let the people know that I am the emperor who is destined by heaven; secondly, I will be able to intimidate Shandong; thirdly, I will bury Lu Lujian here to subdue the strong energy of the earth. With all these benefits, why not do it? So I asked Kong Yu. Kong Yu said: "The world has just been unified, people from all over the world have not yet surrendered, and the national treasury has not yet been filled. I'm afraid there will be something wrong with practicing Zen at this time!" The First Emperor said: "Since the decline of Emperor Zhou, no one has ever held this event. Youdao means that those who change their surnames and become kings to bring peace to the world should be granted the title of Taidai and Zen Liangfu to show that the destiny of heaven has been fulfilled. Now that the country is unified, if I don't sacrifice to heaven and earth, how can I advocate etiquette and education to the people? How can we convince the people of the world?" He ordered officials from all over the country to gather in Jibei to prepare for the grand Zen ceremony. The First Emperor then marched towards Jibei. Kong Kun knew that he had offended the emperor, so he did not go.
One day, the First Emperor met with officials from various places in Boyang City, the capital of Jibei County, and they brought a dazzling array of offerings. One morning, the emperor led his ministers and officials from Shandong to the foot of Mount Tai. Seeing that Mount Tai was majestic and the peaks were abrupt and spectacular, he asked about the enshrinement of Zen. Chunyu Yue said: "Books such as "Shang Shu Shun Dian" and "Zhou Guan" say that there are seventy-two kings who have held Zen ceremonies, but Guan Yiwu thinks there are twelve. They are Wu Huai and Fu Xi. He, Shennong, Yandi, Huangdi, Zhuanxu, Emperor Li, Yao, Shun, Yu, King Tang of Shang, King Cheng of Zhou. More than a hundred years later, Confucius compiled the Six Classics and said that there were seventy-two kings who were granted Zen status. Do you know who is right?" Qin Huang said: "I don't care about this, I just want to know the specific matters of the Zen seal?" Chunyu Yue said slightly embarrassed: "I don't know the details." The first emperor was very disappointed, so he ordered the people of Lu to be All the famous scholars were summoned to inquire about specific matters, and more than seventy people responded. However, these people also knew nothing about the Feng Chan matter, which greatly disappointed the talented and sagacity of the First Emperor, and he drove them all away in a rage.
After the Confucian scholars left, Emperor Qin decided to open a road from the southern foot to the top of the mountain. Three months later, the road was built. When the emperor saw that the newly built mountain road was wide and flat, he happily said to the doctors: "Some time ago, what those nerds said disappointed me! Now can you tell me how to formulate the specific program of this Zen?" Dr. Bao Bering His answer: "The main purpose of Feng Chan is to offer sacrifices to the gods of heaven and earth. You should first build an altar on the mountain and then perform the sacrifices. The rituals of the sacrifices are roughly the same as the Qin people's rituals of offering sacrifices to the White Emperor and the ancestral temple." The emperor was overjoyed when he heard this and asked him to do so. People built altars on mountains. Because it is a sacrifice to heaven, it is called the Temple of Heaven. The doctors drew up a specific ritual and prepared many sacrificial supplies.
On the day of the sacrifice, Emperor Qin led his ministers to the altar. The Temple of Heaven is built of five-color soil, and flags symbolizing various directions are erected around it. The five-color banners are green in the east, red in the south, white in the west, black in the north, and yellow in the center. Emperor Qin climbed onto the altar and ordered a Tai Zhu to follow him. The rest of the people stood under the altar and set up a giant umbrella to protect them from the scorching sun. At this time, the emperor's heart was full of excitement and high spirits. He stood facing the east. What is in front of you is a wide and long sacrificial table, on which are the tablets of the gods. It is really decorated with ivory treasures, cauldrons, incense candles and purple mist; gold statues and jade dendrobiums hold fine wine, and white horses are placed on silver plates and plain silk. All kinds of offerings are available.
The ceremony of Zen began, and Taizhu said loudly: "The first item is to burn firewood to tell Heaven." That is to burn the accumulated firewood and set off fireworks to inform the Emperor that the Emperor has arrived at Mount Tai. The First Emperor complied with the charter ceremony. He lit the accumulated salary with his own hands, the darkness slowly rose, and the music officials also played the elegant music "Eternal Arrival". After the song ended, Tai Zhu said again: "The second item is to scatter flowers to welcome the gods." The First Emperor threw the flowers in the basket into the sky. At this time, all the officials knelt down to welcome the arrival of the god. The horns and golden drums under the altar sounded together, and the music officials played another elegant music "Jia Zhi". After scattering the flowers, the First Emperor lit the incense and candles, and then gently lifted off the gauze covering the offerings, meaning to invite the gods to come and taste them. Tai Zhu added: "The third item is to sacrifice to the Emperor of Heaven." There are five Emperors of Heaven. They are the White Emperor of the West, the Black Emperor of the North, the Green Emperor of the East, the Red Emperor of the South, and the Central Yellow Emperor. The First Emperor burned incense and wine and offered sacrifices one by one. At this time, the music officials sang "Deng Ge" acapella again, and the elegant tune spread to far away places. Next, Taizhu said: "The fourth item is to perform meritorious deeds to repay heaven." The ministers recited passionately:
When the emperor comes to the throne, he makes laws and regulations, and his subordinates revise them. In the twenty-sixth year, when the world was first united, everyone was convinced. Personally visit distant places, climb Mount Tai, and explore the East Pole. Follow the ministers' deeds, originate their careers, and only recite their merits. The way of governance is running smoothly, and all productions are appropriate, and all have their own laws. The great righteousness will never be forgotten, and it will be passed down to future generations. Don't abandon it. The emperor's obedience to the saints not only brought peace to the world, but also made unremitting efforts to govern. Work hard and sleep day and night, build long-term benefits, and specialize in teaching. The scriptures are taught and promulgated, and they are clear from far and near, and inherit the holy will. There is a clear distinction between high and low, men and women should be polite and obey their duties carefully. Zhao separates the inside and outside, and the waste is not pure, and it is given to the heirs. Transform into infinity, abide by the edicts left behind, and uphold the precepts forever.
After reciting, all the ministers shouted long live. Tai Zhu said again: "The fifth item is the shaman-god translation." Then the eight shaman-gods boarded the altar, beat drums and danced, conveyed and translated the words of the gods. They sang together: "The emperor came to the throne and made Mingfa, which is very in line with the emperor of heaven." I hope that the emperor will obey the imperial edict and uphold the precepts forever, and his transformation will be endless." After the witch god clearly conveyed his will to mortals, he stepped down from the stage. Tai Zhu said again: "The sixth item is the Emperor's blessings." The First Emperor then pulled out the Lu Lu Sword and gave a blessing to the heaven in a loud voice: "I accept the destiny of God and ascend the throne of the Emperor to govern the people. I will definitely do it." We must fulfill our responsibilities and hold our hair in our hands, so that we can live up to heaven and live up to the people. I am well aware of the difficulty of running a country, so when handling all affairs, we must abide by the laws and systems of the Qin State. Only in this way can the country achieve long-term peace and stability. I should be more diligent and diligent, get up early and go to bed late, and seek the welfare of the people. I always think of 'training the people in the common way, and guiding the people to understand'. All affairs should be handled according to the laws of justice, and good government will be passed down for generations! "
The emperor's congratulatory voice was very loud, and his voice echoed in the sky for a long time. All the people who heard the congratulation were in awe of God and his son. After finishing the congratulatory speech, Tai Zhu said again: "The seventh item is to bury the treasures of the land and the country." The First Emperor congratulated: "Although I am selfless, I made the right mistake! But why did I see the aura of the emperor in the southeast when I was patrolling the west? ? From that day on, I have been restless day and night. Now I pray to the Emperor of Heaven to protect my country forever, and my country to last forever! I specially bury this powerful weapon to suppress the country here, and pray for eternal peace!" When the First Emperor said the last words, The voice was almost hoarse. At this time, an official walked up to the altar and took the seal and the Lulu sword from the emperor's hands. He turned around and walked off the stage, burying the seal, the sword, cinnabar, and the notice together. Where he is buried is unknown to the world. Next, Tai Zhu said: "The eighth item is to offer sacrifices to send off the gods." That is to relight the incense and send all the gods away. At this time, the music officials began to play "Xiu Cheng" to praise the gods. Tai Zhu added: "The ninth item is that the emperor accepts the congratulations of the ministers." The music officials then played "Yong'an", and the praise ceremony was successfully completed. At this time, the ceremony of worshiping the heaven was also over. The emperor was relieved and asked Li Si to carve the article he had just read on a huge stone, calling it "Taishan Carved Stone". The First Emperor also ordered the sacrificial meat to be wrapped in thatch and distributed to officials in various places, telling them to be loyal to their duties and do their jobs well.
The next day, the First Emperor led his ministers to Liangfu Mountain. Someone had long eradicated a square piece of flat land there, so the First Emperor used black cattle to solemnly offer sacrifices to the earth gods. The earth gods included the gods of enjoying the earth from Mount Tai and Mount Liangfu, the gods of war from Pinglu, the gods from the three mountains, and the gods from Zhifu. The Yang God, the Moon God of Laishan, the Sun God of Chengshan, the Four Seasons God of Langya Mountain, and the God of the Five Mountains. The First Emperor repaid the honor of the land, read an article with gorgeous rhetoric, and asked Li Si to engrave this article on a stone tablet, which was called "Liang Fu's Carving on Stone". At this point, the Zen ceremony was successfully concluded.
By holding the Zen Ceremony, the First Emperor wanted everyone in the world to know that he was obeying the orders of God to rule the people. After the conferment of Zen, officials from various places returned to their respective positions. The emperor continued his eastward tour. He passed through Linzi and came to the Bohai Sea. He went south along the coast, passed Huangxian, Zhifu, Chengshanjiao, and continued his southern tour until he reached Langye Mountain. There is an alliance platform on the mountain called Yuewang Platform. According to historical records: During the Spring and Autumn Period, King Gou Jian of Yue was the hegemon. He formed a bloody alliance here and ordered Qin, Jin, Qi, Chu and other countries to jointly swear to assist the Zhou royal family. The First Emperor visited this historic site and said ambitiously: "The Yue State is a barbarian state, and Gou Jian is the king of a small country. He can still hold a big country hostage to fight for hegemony, let alone our Qin State! Now that I have unified the world and am rich all over the world, am I not as good as Gou Jian?" "So he ordered 30,000 households from Guizhou to live at the foot of Langye Mountain, exempting them from twelve years of corvee service. They also recruited civilians to build Langye Tower, which was several times higher than Yuewang Tower.
When the First Emperor was at Langye Terrace, a sorcerer named Xu Fu came and said that there were three fairy mountains in the East China Sea, namely Penglai, Fangzhang and Yingzhou, and that there were elixirs of immortality on the mountains. When the First Emperor heard about such a good thing, he wanted Xu Fu to go to the East China Sea to look for it. But Xu Fu said: "Your Majesty, please build thirty large ships for me, and then select three thousand boys and girls." The First Emperor asked what he wanted the boys and girls to do. Xu Fu said: "The most precious things in the world are gold, pearls and treasures, but these things are of no use to the immortals and cannot move their hearts. If you dedicate your children to them, the immortals will be happy and can give you the elixir of immortality." Give it to Your Majesty. The First Emperor was overjoyed when he heard this, and ordered the officials to follow Xu Fu's wishes. He also sent people to various places in Shandong to recruit boys and girls. This matter soon caused an uproar. This was the emperor's policy against the people. start.
The First Emperor visited Pengcheng again on his southern tour. One night he dreamed that two little boys were competing for the sun. Song Wuji said: "Some villain must be making trouble. Your Majesty, please continue to patrol. Treacherous people will not dare to offend you!" The First Emperor continued his southern tour, and they came to Xiangshan Mountain in Dongting Lake. But when we were going down the mountain after swimming, we suddenly encountered a thunderstorm and huge waves broke out in the lake. The First Emperor was very panicked. Song Wuji said: "Your Majesty, why don't you use treasures to suppress it?" The First Emperor ordered people to throw a priceless jade into Dongting Lake to worship the wind god, but the wind and waves still continued. The emperor became angry and asked: "Who is the king of Xiang?" The doctor replied: "Emperor Yao had two daughters, one named Ehuang and the other named Nvying. They married Yushun. The emperor passed away during his southern tour. Cangwu, the two girls threw themselves into the water and died. After their deaths, they were buried here, and later generations respected them as the goddesses of Xiangshan. The legend of Bamboo here is that they shed tears on the bamboo, and the tears stained them." The First Emperor became even more angry after hearing this. , and said: "The two emperors Yao and Shun have made great achievements in the world. What virtues and abilities do these two women have, and what kind of temple should be built for them?" He ordered the mountain to be set on fire, and the temple of Xiangjun was also destroyed. He also asked Li Si to carve a seal sealing the mountain, and painted the cliff red, which meant that he was wearing prison clothes. The First Emperor returned home after carrying out a series of sabotage activities. The car drove back to Beijing from Nanjun and Nanyang counties via Wuguan.
