As for where the Budai monk went? When the Sixth Patriarch Huineng said this, he gave it up and didn't say anything. The Sixth Patriarch Huineng changed the topic——

Besides, there was a pair of brothers who had the same ambition and both became monks. The two of them help each other, encourage each other, study hard, and clear away the dirt in their souls.

After years of arduous practice, they finally stopped their delusions, eradicated their worries, became enlightened and became great Bodhisattvas.

The two of them were not satisfied, but set stricter demands on themselves, learning from the Buddhas of the three generations, doing the difficult things, and saving all sentient beings.

They promoted Buddhism all over the world. When they heard that there was no Buddhism in a place, they traveled across mountains and rivers to teach people there, so that they could practice Buddhism and realize their lives.

When everyone respects and treats others with compassion, national harmony, social tranquility, and people's happiness will naturally be achieved.

In the process of spreading the Dharma, the two of them took in many monks and lay disciples, and thousands of monks followed them to meditate in the jungle.

At that time, there was a remote country, and the king believed in witchcraft. Therefore, all kinds of evil spirits came to this country, used various witchcraft to seduce the king, and taught him evil spells. When people see the king like this, people all over the country are addicted to illusory magic, evil spirits are prevalent in the country, and evil spirits become common...

Everyone in this country engages in evil arts, everyone wants to harm others, and is always wary of harming others. People's hearts are becoming increasingly sinister, social customs are extremely corrupt, and even wind and rain disorders, earthquakes and tsunamis, and frequent disasters...

If the country is evil, evildoers will be born.

As a result, monsters and monsters came one after another in this country, and plague and cholera took away countless lives. What's even more terrifying is that there is a huge poisonous dragon lurking in the mountains near the country's capital. It is intensifying its practice of spraying poisonous mist. Once it matures, the poisonous gas it spreads will permeate the entire country, and everyone will be poisoned to death.

The Bodhisattva brothers have profound wisdom. After foreseeing this situation in meditation, they discussed: "The country we live in has accepted the teachings of Buddhism. The people are loyal, the king is kind, the father is righteous and the son is filial, and the husband is faithful and the wife is chaste. , everyone is a virtuous person, and every home is a home of good deeds. We can no longer play a greater role by staying here. And in that remote country, because the king believed in evil ways, the people followed suit, resulting in a decline in social order. Everyone is in danger. Especially the poisonous dragon, once it attacks, it will definitely harm the people. We seek Buddhism not to get rid of our own troubles, but to save sentient beings, remove people's suffering, and give them happiness. Therefore, we We should go there to spread the Dharma and guide people towards kindness and kindness.”

My brother said: "However, the people in that country have dark hearts, are extremely selfish, and are morally corrupt. They are afraid of suffering a loss and simply do not believe that there are still good deeds in the world. Therefore, even if we make fantastic claims, they will not believe in Buddhism."

He said: "Then we should use actions instead of words and use our own practices to prove that Buddhism guides people towards kindness and kindness."

The younger brother smiled and said: "Brother, if you say this, you must be confident."

Brother nodded: "I think we should solve the problem of the poisonous dragon first."

The disciple said: "Killing is the first major precept in Buddhism; saving one life is better than building a seven-level pagoda. If we stop the poisonous dragon from harming the people, it will inevitably hurt itself; but if we do not get rid of it, there will definitely be disasters. Countless people have suffered. Brother, how should we deal with this matter?"

The elder brother thought seriously for a while and said: "You are right. If we harm living beings for no reason, we are indeed breaking the great precept and should receive severe consequences. However, we should also know that in order to save more people, we must also avoid Let the poisonous dragon cause more sins. Even if it is killed, it is completely in line with the wish of all Buddhas to save all sentient beings. By getting rid of the dragon, we can not only save the people of a country, but also let them see that there are people who are willing to die for the benefit of others. dangerous places, thereby leading them to yearn for kindness and practice Buddhism. In this way, even if we have to bear the karma and go to hell because of hurting the poisonous dragon, we are willing to do so."

"Yes," the younger brother said, "If I don't go to hell, who will! Bodhisattvas take it as their duty to save all sentient beings."

For some reason, my brother fell into deep thought again.

After a while, he looked at his younger brother lovingly and said: "Little brother, that poisonous dragon is very strong. It will be very dangerous for us to subdue it. It is very likely that we will die together with it before we can completely defeat it. You..."

The younger brother patted his chest and said generously: "Fighting the enemy in battle, fighting bloody battles, and not fearing life and death, this is the courage of a general! Entering the mountains without fear of tigers, catching tigers and leopards, and fighting bear bears, this is the courage of a hunter! Entering the water without fear A dragon dares to go into the sea to hit the waves, or to enter a deep pool to catch turtles. This is the courage of a fisherman! But we Bodhisattvas, in order to benefit all sentient beings and save the lives of others, are not afraid of climbing mountains of swords, not afraid of going to hell, and are not afraid of being broken into pieces!"

"Okay!" The elder brother couldn't help but give his younger brother a high-five and said, "If we don't fight with our lives against the evil dragon, how will the people of that country be saved? Fight! Brother, you become an elephant, I Transform into a lion and fight to the death with the poisonous dragon!"

So, the two brothers bowed their heads to the ten directions and swore: "It is our fault that all sentient beings are not in peace; it is our fault that the people are not happy! If we can become Buddhas in the next life, we will decide to save all sentient beings."

The two of them left their country quietly for fear of alarming their disciples.

They traveled thousands of mountains and rivers and found the place where the poisonous dragon was.

The younger brother first turned into an elephant and broke into the cave where the poisonous dragon lurked.

The poisonous dragon was angered by his audacity, and jumped out from the depths of the cave with its mouth wide open, trying to swallow the elephant in one bite.

The elephant was very smart and avoided its pounce and entanglement, turned around and ran outside the cave.

How can the poisonous dragon be willing to let go? It shot out like lightning...

The brother who was ambushing at the entrance of the cave turned into a majestic lion. When he saw the poisonous dragon being led out by his brother, he immediately pounced on it by surprise and jumped on the dragon's back...

The younger brother also turned around and risked being bitten by the poisonous dragon, risking his own life to fight with it in close combat!

The poisonous dragon is no ordinary person. He raised his head high, roared wildly, twisted his body with all his strength, and exerted the greatest power——

The dragon's head dances wildly, and stubborn rocks break apart; the dragon's body twists, and its scales fly; the dragon's tail sweeps across, and the trees snap!

Not to be outdone, the elephant pierced the poisonous dragon's body with its long tusks, and did not retreat even if it was repeatedly whipped by the dragon's tail!

The lion bit the dragon's poisonous sac, determined not to let it spray out the poisonous mist...

In the wilderness, giant dragons, lions, and elephants fought together. The battle was extremely fierce, and the roar shook the sky, shaking the earth, and the sky and the earth changed color——

Dark clouds lock the sky, and the wind blows wildly. The black clouds pressed down like landslides, and the strong wind was like thousands of monsters swooping over! The earth is shaking, the mountains are shaking, ghosts are crying and wolves are howling, and the world seems to be about to be destroyed...

Their fighting alarmed the surrounding people and the king in the capital. They hid in the surrounding safe areas and witnessed the brutal fight.

Finally, the elephant's tusks pierced the dragon's heart, and the dragon's iron tail also smashed the elephant's head. Although the lion bit off the dragon's poison sac, he himself was poisoned. All three lose.

The poisonous dragon slumped to death, while the lion and elephant also fell to the ground and died heroically.

The souls of the people across the country and the king were deeply shaken. The thick fog of ignorance dissipated, and they suddenly realized their enlightenment.

They knew very well that if it had not been for the self-sacrifice of the elephants and lions, all of them would have perished!

Looking at the bodies of the two brothers, everyone shed tears of mixed emotions. They praised the kindness and benevolence of lions and elephants with their mouths, and reflected on themselves in their hearts...

The king caressed their bodies and said: "These two people who are willing to sacrifice for others must be gods in the lower world. Otherwise, who in the world has such a broad and loving heart?"

Here, the disciples of the two brothers found this place. They saw the Master's compassion for the whole world, and his sacrifice to save the people of a country. They were both happy and sad. While praising their holiness, they buried their bodies.

At this time, the king and the people realized that the two people who sacrificed their lives to save the people were not gods at all, but people of flesh and blood like them!

However, he is a Buddhist disciple who practices Bodhisattva practice and pursues the Buddhist tenet of compassion, joy and equanimity, so he is able to sacrifice himself for others. In order to benefit the public, they can climb mountains of swords and descend into seas of fire, even to death.

The king and the people of the country were deeply moved.

Oh my God, such noble sentiments exist in the world!

The Buddha's benevolent teachings can actually produce such merit!

The disciples of the two brothers inherited Master's legacy and traveled to various parts of the country to promote Master's teachings and spread the basic Buddhist spirit of compassion, joy, equality, and peace.

The people knew the kindness of the two Bodhisattvas, so they consciously and voluntarily lived according to the Buddha's teachings - refrain from doing evil and practice good deeds.
