Xingxin was dubious and murmured: "Can such a strange thing happen in the world?"

Soon, I became physically and mentally abnormal, with nausea and vomiting, a tendency to eat sour foods, and a strange aroma that hit my nostrils.

After so many years of marriage, this has never happened before.

When Xingxin saw it, he was very happy and hurriedly asked an old doctor to diagnose my mother's pulse. The old doctor held my pulse and carefully assessed it for a while, then stroked his beard and laughed: "Brother Lu, I would like to congratulate you first. Your wife is like a sour plum to usher in spring. She is pregnant with Liujia. I am going to have a son in my family!"

"What?" Xingxin didn't seem to believe his ears, but he heard the old doctor's words clearly.

Xingxin stood aside with his mouth wide open, looking straight at the old doctor without saying a word. He was so happy that he was so happy.

Although I am also happy, how can I not be happy when I heard that I am pregnant? But I am always calmer than Xing Xin, and I will never be too happy.

I was happy in my heart and took action. I hurriedly wrapped a red wedding bag and thanked this old doctor.

After the old man got the money and left, Xingxin danced with joy and smiled like a child.

He was so confused. How could I have the right to decide whether it would be a boy or a girl? Xingxin thought I had the final say, so she was so happy that she was incoherent and confused. One moment he was grateful to heaven, another moment he was grateful to Guanyin Bodhisattva, and the next moment he was grateful to his ancestors. He didn’t know who to be grateful to.

He was overjoyed and impatient, wandering around the house and outside, wanting to do something, but unable to do anything.

I smiled secretly in my heart: "Husband, you are over 40 years old and you are pregnant, so you are naturally very happy, but husband, don't forget to take care of yourself and control your emotions!" After a word of reminder to him, he reluctantly calmed himself down.

He took me to the Buddhist hall set up at home and kowtowed to the statue of Guanyin.

He was grateful first and then requested. He was grateful to Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva for being compassionate and giving him hope, and asked Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva to be compassionate and protect him in having a child as he wished.

From then on, our morning and evening worship services became more pious and diligent.

In the twelfth year of Zhenguan in the Tang Dynasty, at midnight on the eighth day of the second month of the Wuxu year, I finally gave birth to Neng'er. It was God's wish. We have been waiting for a child for many years, and now our wish has come true. You can imagine how we feel...

As a goddess of love, Liang Jinlian couldn't help but say when Li told her about Huineng's birth, "His father's wish must be for his son to become a successful child and to honor his ancestors."

"Yes!" Mrs. Li nodded, and then continued:

The greatest misfortune in life is losing one's mother in childhood, one's spouse in middle age, and one's son in old age. After Neng'er was born, his father died of illness when he was three years old...

When Li said this, his throat was choked up and his eyes filled with tears, shedding tears for his pitiful life experience.

Seeing this, Liang Jinlian quickly took out the silk handkerchief from her pocket and gently wiped the tears in Li's eyes. A lotus heart showed compassion for the poor life experience of Li and Huineng. The red phoenix eyes filled with autumn water were filled with tears of sympathy.

Liang Jinlian saw that Li was looking at her silently and said nothing, and was too embarrassed to ask again, so she had to look at Li silently as well.

Li's words were like a stone striking a thousand waves, setting off a storm in Liang Jinlian's heart. After a long silence, Mrs. Li could no longer bear to reject Liang Jinlian's intention. When she opened her mouth, words poured out like a flood without a dam:

After Neng'er's father died of illness, I was devastated. If it weren't for Neng'er, I really wanted to kill him and go with his father.

At that time, I was so sad that I fainted from tears. When Neng'er saw it, he was frightened. Although he was only three years old and not very sensible, he seemed to understand that both his parents were dead. He hurriedly pulled my lapel and cried loudly.

When I was in a coma, I faintly heard Neng'er's cry, and I was shocked. When I opened my eyes, I saw Neng'er looking at me with tears streaming down his face, crying pitifully.

I quickly sat up and held Neng'er in my arms. Mother and son burst into tears. Neighbors heard the crying and came over one after another. When they saw this situation, they were also very sad.

Neng'er's father has passed away. The villagers helped arrange Xingxin's funeral arrangements and advised us, mother and son, not to be overly sad.

With the help of the neighbors, Xingxuan was buried in the coffin. I took Neng'er to thank these kind-hearted villagers one by one.

At this time, the family was destitute, and the villagers felt pity for us, mother and son, and often gave us alms. However, I don’t want to rely on the villagers for a long time. Every day I either go up the mountain to cut firewood or open up wasteland and farm fields. Although it is very hard, my clever and sensible ability brings me hope. At such a young age, this child can actually avoid the ants on the ground and walk without harming even a small life.

Not only is he smart and kind, but he is also better at thinking than other children of his age. He often focuses his eyes, wondering where his father has gone.

Finally, Neng'er grew up to twelve years old. He was not only smart and kind, but also physically strong. He often went to the mountains with his neighbors to cut firewood. He could cut dozens of kilograms of firewood at a time and carry it back home across the mountains and ridges.

Seeing that he was honest, kind and taciturn, the villagers liked him very much. They took him up the mountain to collect firewood and taught him how to chop and bundle firewood.

The days are passing by like water, and the Chinese New Year is almost here. Rich people kill pigs and chickens and sew new clothes, but Neng'er doesn't have this blessing. He just doesn't go to the mountains to chop firewood for the time being. A kind-hearted neighbor saw that our mother and son were living in poverty, so they brought us pork and chicken to celebrate the New Year.

When Mrs. Li said this, she looked at Liang Jinlian, sighed, and then said, I didn't want to take the pork and chicken, but the neighbor sincerely wanted to give it to me, but I felt it was disrespectful to refuse, so I had to take it.

I thought that my family was poor and the food was not good, but Neng'er often had to go up the mountain with the villagers to chop firewood. It was really difficult for him at such a young age, so I just wanted to make some meat to replenish his health.

I made the pork and chicken delicious and appetizing, but Neng'er didn't take a bite. No matter how hard I tried to persuade him, he didn't move his chopsticks. He looked at the pork and chicken, and seemed to think of the tragic scene when the pigs and chickens were killed, and felt extremely sad. When I saw how kind he was, I didn't know whether I was happy or sad for a moment.

I looked at the chessboard hanging on the wall and thought that my husband relied on this to dispel Si'er's depression. But when he had a son and his wish came true, he left us, mother and son, and passed away so early. If he could live to this day and see his son being so kind, what would he think? Is it happy or sad? I burst into tears thinking about this.

Neng'er saw it and hurriedly comforted me: Mom, please teach me how to play chess. When I learn how to play chess, we can play chess every day when we have time.

Seeing Neng'er's sincerity, I had no choice but to agree. Neng'er is really smart. He learned to play chess in less than half a day, and he often makes clever moves that I didn't expect.

During the New Year, Neng'er was afraid that I would be sad, so he often played chess with me. After the fifteenth day of the first lunar month, people begin to get busy. The children of the poor have already become the head of the household, and Neng'er, who has just turned twelve, already knows how to earn money to support his family.

Neng'er goes up the mountain with the villagers to cut firewood every day, and then goes to the market to sell it with the villagers.

At first, Neng'er walked with the villagers, but the villagers had enough food and clothing at home, so they didn't rest every day like him.

Later, Neng'er couldn't keep company, so he walked alone, going up the mountain to chop firewood and sell it in the market. Day after day, month after month, Neng'er never stopped going up the mountain to collect firewood. Every day, apart from going up the mountain to collect firewood, carrying it to the market, selling it and buying rice oil back to support his life, he would listen to me chanting sutras, or be alone. Sitting in the courtyard thinking about some difficult questions.

"Auntie, what issues was Brother Aneng thinking about at that time?" Liang Jinlian looked at Mr. Li out of curiosity and asked.

Li smiled slightly and said, "Neng'er said that what he was thinking about was, 'Why is everyone's experience so different? Some are rich and powerful, some are poor and humble, some are strong, and some are hundreds of years old. Suffering from illness, some are kind-hearted, and some do all kinds of evil. Why do snakes eat frogs, frogs eat insects, and insects eat ants? They always eat like this, the weak eat the strong. Why on earth is this?'.

After Mrs. Li answered Liang Jinlian's question, she raised her hands, stretched her waist, and recalled:

Days passed like water, and by the time Xinyou was in the first year of Longshuo, Neng'er was already a twenty-four-year-old young man. Not only is he physically strong, he is also intelligent and understanding, and he is a filial piety to his mother, which makes me happy. The hard-working and kind-hearted Neng'er still went to the mountains to collect firewood every day, then picked it up at the market, sold it and bought rice oil back to support his life... Until later, Neng'er accidentally listened to An Daocheng reciting the "Diamond Sutra", that sentence Every line of Zen speaks directly to the mind, and every word of holy words opens up the mystery. It was also when his good roots matured and his wisdom sprouted. When he heard the two sentences "There should be no place to live, but the heart is born", his heart was shocked, his head was roaring, and a huge lightning seemed to be drawn in front of his eyes.

Suddenly, I forgot all about my body and mind. I only felt that everything in the world, including me and all sentient beings, thousands of doors and myriads of dharmas, and the four great and five aggregates, had all returned to the void, with nothing to live in. In an instant, flowers bloom in the heart, spiritual energy surges, worries are suddenly stopped, delusional thoughts are extinguished, Prajna appears immediately, and everything that has been recalled in the past is clear and clear.

Li, a senior Buddhist scholar, commented: When Neng'er heard the sutra, he suddenly became enlightened, turned away the clouds and saw the moon, suddenly became enlightened, realized his true nature, and reached the state of seeing his true nature directly...

"Auntie, what you said is too profound. I don't quite understand it. Can you explain it more clearly?" When Liang Jinlian heard this, she added something vaguely understanding.

Mrs. Li looked at Liang Jinlian sheepishly and said apologetically: "Alian, I don't understand it very well. I only know that it comes from the scriptures in the Diamond Sutra."

Liang Jinlian heard the Diamond Sutra for the first time and looked at Mr. Li with curiosity.

Seeing that Liang Jinlian couldn't stop and looked at her with a diligent look, Mrs. Li had no choice but to tell Liang Jinlian what she knew and understood as much as possible:

"There should be no abode, but the mind should be born." This verse is one of the most important verses in the Diamond Sutra. The "Diamond Sutra" is the true prajna, which can open up people's great wisdom. All the Diamond Sutras are manifestations of broken forms.

The sentence "There should be no place to live, but the heart should be born" shows the essence and function at the same time. That is: the use cannot be separated from the body, and the body cannot be separated from the use. "There should be nothing to live in" does not exist, and "the mind that arises" does not fall into nothingness. This is the essence of vajra. So when Neng'er heard this sentence, he immediately realized the truth. There should be nothing to live in, that is, nothing should live in. If you can stop everything, that is the realm of reality. Now that we have realized that reality has no form and achieves nothing, what ego, worries, birth and death, and ignorance can remain? When the mind is born according to Prajna wisdom, it is put into use. It is the bodhisattva heart, bodhicitta, compassion, equanimity, altruism and selflessness that give rise to endless compassion and aspiration. Such a mind, etc., are all minds that are born without abode. It is the true mind, the pure mind, which is the Buddha mind.

"Auntie, after what you said, I seem to understand. You just said that Brother Aneng gave the mooncakes to the old beggar, and when he saw the old beggar being beaten, he tried his best to protect him. This is a true heart, a pure heart, that is, the Buddha's heart. ', I understand it this way, right?" Liang Jinlian couldn't help but add another sentence.

"That's probably what I mean." After Mrs. Li finished answering, she extended her thumb and praised, "Alian, you are very wise and understanding!"

Liang Jinlian's face turned red when she was praised by Mrs. Li. She lowered her head shyly and said modestly, "That's right. Auntie praised her."

"A-Lian, don't be embarrassed. Auntie is telling the truth." After praising Liang Jinlian, Mrs. Li turned to the topic of the Diamond Sutra: The hearts of all living beings are greed, perseverance, and the heart of lofty ideals. , different thoughts, and even eighty-four thousand troubled thoughts. Such minds, etc., are all minds that are born from a place, which is the mind of delusion, the mind of karma, that is, the mind of sentient beings. Because living beings are attached to signs everywhere, and there are many signs, there are also many minds. If the mind is too many, it cannot be pure. If the mind is not pure, it cannot understand the true nature. Therefore, if you want to realize the true heart, you have to let go of everything. Then everything will stop and the true heart will be seen by itself, which is the heart of the Tao. The Tao arises from the heart, and the heart sees from the Tao. When it comes to the final analysis, this word "Tao" cannot be said. The so-called words are cut off, and the mind's path is cut off. This principle is subtle and difficult for beginners to understand. The Buddha wanted people to understand that reality has no form, and that being free from thoughts is the true mind, so he said, "There should be no abiding." The Buddha also wanted people to understand the wonder of how to use it, so he conveniently said: "The mind is born" and "There should be no abode, but the mind is born." This sentence may seem contradictory, but in fact it is so.

When Mrs. Li said this, she looked at Liang Jinlian who was really listening and asked, "Alian, my aunt said it according to the scriptures, do you understand?"

"Well, I understand a lot." Liang Jinlian nodded and said.
