Zhang Shaofei looked at Lei Gong: "What do you think?"

This was definitely not a unnecessary question, but another Zen idea. Lei Gong actually answered: "Withering is good."

Zhang Shaofei still nodded: "If so, if so, then let it wither and die naturally."

Zhang Shaofei asked Le Zhidan again: "What do you think?"

Le Zhidan was extremely smart and thought he would be able to give a better answer, so he said without thinking: "Let the withered people wither, and the prosperous people let them prosper." Le Zhidan thought that his answer was so perfect and unrestrained! Even the proud young monk showed admiration in his eyes.

However, Zhang Shaofei shook his head and said: "No, no. Let nature take its course and understand the meaning of Zen in nature, which is advocated by almost every generation of ancestors. However, Zen is not pure nature, and Zen practitioners are against laissez-faire Self-flow emphasizes people's initiative and initiative. As children of nature, we, as children of nature, abandon evil and promote good, and transform ourselves are nature; we control our own destiny and make it more in line with the laws of the universe and life, which is the real smooth flow. It's natural. This is the reason why Zen masters are truly wise!"

As he spoke, Zhang Shaofei's eyes were like warm fingers, caressing the young monk's face.

The young monk suddenly understood Zhang Shaofei's words, but he could not let go of his arrogance, so he reluctantly knelt down to Zhang Shaofei and said, "Wandering monk Fawu, come and pay homage to the mountain."

The reason why he said "worship the mountain" instead of worshiping the ancestors shows that he still looks down on Zhang Shaofei in his heart. When he kowtowed, his forehead did not touch the ground.

Le Zhidan jumped over, pointed at his forehead and said: "You are young, and you are arrogant and rude when you worship your ancestors, which is already a big mistake; and then you kowtow without touching the ground, which is even more wrong. You have no intention." To show respect, it is better not to kowtow!"

Fawu relied on his own cleverness and said disapprovingly: "The four elements of a monk are empty, so why bother to stick to formalities? Besides, if I kowtow without touching the ground and prostrate, it is equivalent to touching the ground and prostrate. Why do you need to be so clear about it?"

Lei Gong smiled and said: "You do have some eloquence. Transcend all forms in the world and not be trapped by forms. This is indeed Zen."

Fa Wu became more and more proud and glanced sideways at Zhang Shaofei. Unexpectedly, Le Zhidan jumped up unexpectedly and slapped him hard.

Fawu was furious and shouted: "Girls' House, why are you so rude? You actually hit someone!"

Le Zhidan responded tit for tat and said, "If I hit you, it means I didn't hit you. Why should you be so serious about saying goodbye?"

Using his spear and stabbing his shield, Fawu was stunned.

Le Zhidan was once slapped by Zhang Shaofei for this kind of thing, but this time he finally got his capital back from Fa Wu. She said reluctantly: "Besides, as a monk, the four elements are empty. Your body belongs to the earth and should have been empty long ago. I am emptying myself. What are you calling for? If you feel pain, it means that you have not cultivated to the point where the four elements are empty. I am helping you." You are practicing!"

Fawu looked embarrassed, and everyone couldn't help laughing.

Le Zhidan added: "If you feel different when you are being beaten now, and you can feel the difference between being beaten and not being beaten, then it proves that you did not touch the ground with your forehead when you kowtowed just now, and you were deliberately rude. A rude person should not Are you getting beaten?"

Dharma enlightenment was speechless, and his arrogance faded away.

Zhang Shaofei spoke: "Where are you from? You must be hiding something in your heart!"

"I am from Jiangxi. I became a monk when I was seven years old. I once read the Tripitaka in retreat, and I have thousands of scriptures in my chest. I have recited the Lotus Sutra alone more than 3,000 times so far!" said Fada. He raised his head again, very proud of his hard work.

Zhang Shaofei said: "You should work diligently. If you have recited tens of thousands of sutras and understood the meaning of the sutras, then you can be my teacher. However, you are proud of reciting the "Lotus Sutra" three thousand times. Big, it seems that you are too naive, so naive that you don’t know your own fault!”

Zhang Shaofei held up a sand pear and said, "Oh, this sand pear has gone through many winds and rains before it matures. Have you ever tasted the taste of a pear? The brush that printed the Lotus Sutra has been read more than once. I have recited it a million times, but I have never seen it become a Buddha! Likewise, if you are as arrogant as you, it is useless to recite it a million times!"

Fada couldn't help but lowered his head.

Zhang Shaofei continued: "Monks pay homage not only to express respect for others, but also to overcome their own 'arrogance'. Because once the habit of arrogance remains in the minds of monks and the 'self-grasping' is not eliminated, they will not be able to realize The truth of the universe and life. You just recite Buddhist scriptures verbally without understanding the meaning of the scriptures."

When Zhang Shaofei said this, he paused and then said: "You are called Fa Da, but you have never reached Fa!" So he tapped his hand gently on the stone and said a verse in time with the rhythm:

The book of gifts is folded all over the building, and the taunts cannot reach the ground. If I sin, I will be born, and if I forget my merits, my blessings will be incomparable. Your current name is Fada, and I will recite it without stopping. Recite in vain but follow the sound, knowing that your heart is a Bodhisattva. You have a reason now, and I will explain it to you now. But believers in Buddha are speechless, and lotuses sprout from their mouths.

Fada listened quietly, with a hesitant look on his face. Although he still stood blankly, he looked around to hide the shame and irritability in his heart.

Zhang Shaofei said slowly: "Zhang Shaofei's family is poor and his father died young. He has never studied or read. He only heard the Diamond Sutra once in the street in his life, and he understood his mind and nature because of one verse. As far as I know, all the classics are in Inspire our inherent enlightenment, Buddha nature and Prajna wisdom."

Fada lowered his head, his face alternated with joy, sadness, shame and regret. He folded his hands and repented: "Fada is young and ignorant. From now on, he must be humble and respectful towards others."

Master Le Zhidanchong ate the melon and said, "You are a good boy who corrects your mistakes when you know they are wrong! Come, sit down!" Everyone couldn't help but laugh again.

Fa Da sat half-assed on the stone brought by Le Zhidan and asked Zhang Shaofei coquettishly: "I recite the Lotus Sutra, but I don't understand the meaning of the sutra and often have doubts. Master is wise, please help me." Explain explain.”

"Fada, the Dharma is originally accessible, but your mind is not. There are no doubts in the Buddhist scriptures, but you have doubts in your heart. When you recite the Lotus Sutra, you must know what it says about enlightening the Buddha's knowledge and understanding, and showing the Buddha. Knowledge and view, enlightenment and Buddha’s knowledge and view, and entering into Buddha’s knowledge and view, right?”

Fada said sheepishly: "I'm ashamed, my disciple only knows the literal meaning."

Zhang Shaofei gave a detailed explanation: "Buddha's knowledge is the knowledge of enlightenment. Buddha is enlightenment. There are four kinds of enlightenment, the wisdom of opening awareness, the wisdom of showing awareness, the wisdom of comprehending awareness and the wisdom of deepening awareness. If When you hear enlightenment and revelation, you can go deep into the wisdom of enlightenment. This is the wisdom of enlightenment, and your own enlightened heart and nature can be revealed. The so-called wisdom of Buddha is actually your own heart, and there is no other Buddha. . People often cover themselves up with the light of their nature, are obsessed with various superficial phenomena, are disturbed by their own desires, and are willing to be driven by material desires. Therefore, I, the Buddha Sakyamuni, use various methods to speak earnestly and exhort people to settle down and harvest. Heart, don't seek outside your heart. If you have correct knowledge and insights, you will always be wise, observe your own mind, stop evil and do good, and this will unlock the wisdom of the Buddha."
