Zen Master Rude nodded: "That's right! Originally, the Dragon Vein was the place where the emperor was born; but the auspicious clouds here are so peaceful and gentle, and there is no domineering power like the emperor's dominion over the world. The charm here, More graceful than a king, more free and easy than a literary tune. When the poor monk climbed to the highest Tianlu Mountain on the coast of the South China Sea, he saw a curl of Zen energy, just like the Mani Pearl held by the Buddha at the Lingshan Conference, illuminating the world. The flow of nectar flows to the village at the foot of Longshan Mountain. There is a large strange stone with a crack in the middle on Tianlu Mountain. You see, the Daishan Temple over there and my Tianlu Temple are at an angle to each other, like the two horns of a green dragon. The poor monk carefully observed it. There is a hilltop. The top of the mountain is green, and the shape of the mountain is exactly like the head of Buddha. The grass on the hillside is golden, just like the golden cassock of the eminent monk. When I asked the local mountain people, they replied that the name of this mountain is Shengzu Peak. Poor. The monk was surprised after careful inspection. This mountain peak really looks like a solemn and solemn Buddha sitting in the sky. Oh, this is a treasure land that sucks the dew from the sky and produces a generation of great masters!"
After Zhang Shaofei heard this, he immediately became interested and asked: "Ah, the master is full of economics and eloquent. You can carefully observe astronomy and know geography. I hope you can tell me the geographical shape of this mountain in detail."
Zen Master Ru De: "Since the donor asked me today, I can tell you the truth. The poor monk once learned the art of being a disciple from the masters of Buddhism and Taoism."
Zhang Shaofei clasped his hands together and bowed again: "I hope that Master will not hesitate to teach me to enlighten the ignorant."
Zen Master Ru De raised his hand and pointed outside and said: "Look at Tianlu Mountain, which is hundreds of feet high. It overlooks Gaozhou in the south and Duanzhou in the north. It stretches for hundreds of miles. It looks like a huge screen, and it is even more like a lying river. The blue dragon blocks the typhoon blowing from the ocean, protects this area of Xinzhou from being invaded, and protects the people from the suffering of wind disasters."
Zhang Shaofei agreed: "Indeed, there are very few typhoons here in Xinzhou. Even if a typhoon comes occasionally, it is already at the end of the war. This is all blocked by Tianlu Mountain as a barrier. The master is indeed knowledgeable, talented, and proficient in the art of public opinion. Carefully observe astronomy and geography.”
Zen Master Rude took a breath and continued: "Also, Tianlu Mountain has abundant rainfall every year. In the dense canyon, there are green waves and tree shades. There are waterfalls and springs everywhere, and deep jade streams, with water pouring down. The rivers outside the mountains nourish the lush land of Xinzhou. Even if the sun is scorching like fire and there is a severe drought all around, the Xinzhou area is still nourished by the sweet springs of Tianlu Mountain, and will not be harmed by ponds drying up and fields cracked."
Zhang Shaofei: "I heard the elders in the village say that we in Xinzhou have never worried about severe droughts. But what if it rains heavily for several days?"
Zen Master Ru De: "The terrain of Xinzhou is high on one side and low on the other, and the rivers are crisscrossing each other. If there are continuous heavy rains, the accumulated water will gather in the Xinzhou River and flow straight to the wide Xijiang River, so Xinzhou will not suffer from waterlogging. So Xinzhou will not suffer from waterlogging. In this area of zhou, even if the world is in chaos outside, no matter how the situation changes, the weather will still be smooth here, the fields will have at least half the harvest, and the people will naturally live and work in peace and contentment."
Zhang Shaofei admired: "Ah, I heard from the master that you are indeed unique in choosing to practice Zen here."
Zen Master Rude said calmly: "Amitabha, some things in the world are difficult to explain clearly using common sense. The poor monk's past and present lives were destined to be connected with Tianlu Mountain. "
Zen Master Rude speaks the truth. He first entered Buddhism at the White Horse Temple in Luoyang, the eastern capital. There are magnificent palaces, towers and pavilions, with raised eaves and jingling bells. Every day there are crowds of pilgrims and candles in full bloom. Zen Master Ru De felt that in the bustling place of Luoyang, where people were coming and going, it was too noisy and noisy, and it was difficult for him to calm down. Moreover, there are thousands of monks in the White Horse Temple, and there are many eminent monks who have attained enlightenment, all of whom are in high positions. In this land full of talents, it was difficult for me to stand out, so I traveled thousands of miles southward with my studies. After several twists and turns, I came to Xinzhou, Lingnan, and finally settled in the remote and quiet Daishan Temple to study with Master Dinghui. Buddha practices Zen.
Zhang Shaofei listened to Zen Master Rude's story about his past, and his interest did not diminish. He asked again: "Master's choice has its own reasons. Let me ask one more question, master, how long have you been living in Tianlu Temple?"
Zen Master Ru De fell into memories: "The poor monk has been determined to follow the path of Zen Buddhism since he was a child. At the age of sixteen, he came to the Daishan Temple opposite and became a monk. He followed Master Dinghui, chanted sutras and studied Buddhism, and was deeply influenced by Master Dinghui. Teachings, facing red rain and green chimes, devote yourself to Zen practice and enlightenment. Nine years ago, the old Zen Master Nianjin of Tianlu Temple passed away, and the poor monk followed the teacher's instructions and came to Tianlu Temple to be the abbot. The years passed by, and time passed by like a white horse. In the blink of an eye, the tree of my life on Tianlu Mountain has been carved with more than twenty growth rings."
Zhang Shaofei picked up the tea cup, took a sip of tea, and sighed: "With the Tao, time flies like an arrow, and the sun and the moon fly by. The master has been stationed in this mountain for more than 20 years, and it seems that he is very familiar with the surroundings here."
Zen Master Rude looked up at the clear blue sky and white clouds outside the window, and said with deep affection: "There are many footprints of poor monks within ten miles of Tianlu Temple. I regard the mountains, rivers, flowers, plants and trees here as my own." A part of life. Look at the clouds in the sky and the flowers blooming and falling in front of the court. Spring flowers, autumn moon, summer cicadas and winter plums embellish the wonderful life of the poor monk. Every plant and tree is always related to love! The poor monk makes this his home. I am cutting the river clouds to make my robe, and quietly inviting the mountains and moon to make my Zen room. I plan to spend my whole life here reading the Buddhist scriptures."
Zhang Shaofei said in an admiring tone: "Master lives in a secluded place, his heart is in the Zen gate, he meditates quietly, and he is unswervingly determined. He is really respectable and respectable."
Zen Master Ru De waved his hand: "Good! Good! The donor does not need to praise the poor monk. What is the reason for the donor to come here this time?"
Zhang Shaofei leaned forward and said, "People say that Taoism and Buddhism are profound and profound. I would like to come and listen to the master's experience of Zen practice and enlightenment."
Zen Master Rude stroked his short beard on his chin and asked, "I wonder if the donor wants to hear the poor monk explain the teachings of the Avatamsaka Sutra, or does he want me to explain the teachings of the Lankavatara Sutra?"
Zhang Shaofei's face was indifferent and he was not interested in this: "Master, you read those scriptures day and night, forgetting to sleep and eat. I believe you have already understood the mysteries inside. But how can we, the people in the mountains, know the profound teachings of the scriptures?"
"This..." Zen Master Rude frowned and pondered for a moment, "Then, how about the poor monk reciting the full text of the Diamond Sutra to you?"
Zhang Shaofei shook his head: "How much time will it take for you to recite the full text of the Diamond Sutra to me? Moreover, those scriptures contain many profound words and many cumbersome chapters. If you interpret the meaning of the scriptures from the words in the book, and talk about Taoism and cultivation, Zen, I think among the hundreds of Li people believers in Tianlu Mountain, there is not one in a hundred who can really understand it."
