"You, you'd better come in." Zen Master Huiming said unbearably.
"Okay." Zhang Shaofei kicked his feet lightly, and his strong body jumped in like a civet cat.
Zen Master Huiming raised the sutra in his hand and asked, "It's really not easy for you to recite this sutra. Is anyone in your family able to recite sutras?"
Zhang Shaofei answered truthfully: "My mother often recites sutras at home."
Zen Master Huiming: "Your mother also recites sutras?"
Zhang Shaofei recounted: "She has been reciting some sutras at home since she was a child. But compared with the master, she is thousands of miles away. Even though I can recite the sutras, I don't understand the meaning of the sutras. I hope the master can give me Point and point.”
Seeing Zhang Shaofei's sincere attitude, Zen Master Huiming gave a brief explanation: "Diamond Sutra", the full name is "Vajra Prajna Paramita Sutra", the full text is divided into 32 chapters, from "This is what I heard" to "Believe it, accept it and practice it", with a total of 5130 words.
Then, Ji Kong opened the door to clarify the meaning of the Diamond Sutra and gave a detailed explanation of the Diamond Sutra: The Diamond Sutra is the door for all saints to realize the mind. The realization of the ignorant and delusional mind is the true mind of wonderful wisdom. The two hearts are one and the same, so it is called the enlightened mind. The three realms are dominated by the heart, and the heart is called the ground. Those who can seal the heart will be finally liberated, so it is also called the Dharma door for all ordinary people to enter the Tathagata's ground and realize enlightenment. However, the meaning of the sutra is profound. If you do not understand the meaning of the Tathagata, your mind will not be able to enter through the realization. This reading, recitation and explanation cannot be ignored. The people of Cathay have Mahayana roots and are the most predestined for this sutra. They struggle to understand its meaning. Every time the speaker interprets the word according to the text, this is an explanation of the word, not an explanation of the meaning. The listener will complicatedly refer to my own opinions and follow the heretical teachings. In the heart of the Dharma door , far away.
Finally, an overview of Jingkong: "Vajra" means the essence of gold, which can break all things. "Prajna" means great wisdom. "Paramit" means reaching the other shore. Everything in the world is caused by the combination of causes and conditions, and has no inherent nature.
…
"Ah, it turns out that the Diamond Sutra refers to these. Master, your conduct is really high." Zhang Shaofei said sincerely.
Zen Master Huiming waved his hand humbly: "My Taoism is not high, my master is the master."
Zhang Shaofei: "Who is your master?"
"Master Hongren, he is the fifth ancestor of Zen." Zen Master Huiming was originally born in Dongchan Temple and was a disciple of the fifth ancestor, Master Hongren. His speech was full of pious and admiring tone, "Buddhas in the past all highly praised the Lankavatara Sutra. The Fifth Patriarch, Master Hongren, encouraged us to read the Diamond Sutra."
Zhang Shaofei asked: "What is the difference between the two kinds of sutras?"
Zen Master Huiming: "The Lankavatara Sect's theory of 'knowing one's mind and seeing one's nature' is reflected in the Lankavatara Sutra. It believes that only by doing good deeds throughout your life and practicing hard can you become a Buddha; while the Nirvana Sect of the Shanghai School's theory of 'sudden enlightenment and gradual enlightenment' Condensed in the Diamond Sutra.”
Zhang Shaofei's heartstrings twitched: "Where is the Fifth Patriarch of Zen Buddhism now?"
Zen Master Huiming pointed to the north: "Dongchan Temple in Huangmei County, Qizhou."
Zhang Shaofei pretended to be surprised: "Is Dongchan Temple very big?"
"Me," Zen Master Huiming nodded, "there are more than a thousand monks in the temple."
Zhang Shaofei thought to himself: What Zen Master Huiming and Shopkeeper Zhang said are basically the same. So, he took a step further and said in surprise: "Ah, there are more than a thousand people in one temple. This is more people than our entire village! There must be many eminent monks in it, right?"
Zen Master Huiming replied in an admiring tone: "There are indeed many. Their understanding of various classics is much deeper than that of me."
Zhang Shaofei: "Master, could you please explain the meaning of the Diamond Sutra to me again?"
"Okay!" Zen Master Huiming explained the meaning of the Diamond Sutra in detail...
After hearing this, Zhang Shaofei said with emotion: "Ah, it would be great if I could go to Dongchan Temple and listen to the teachings of the Fifth Patriarch with my own ears!"
Zen Master Huiming said sincerely: "I think you have extraordinary wisdom. If you focus on the Buddha, you will surely achieve enlightenment in the future."
Zhang Shaofei raised his head and asked, "Does Master have virtual blindness?"
Zen Master Huiming sincerely said: "I believe that my old eyes are not dim. I only came up with your prospects based on my own feelings. As the meaning of the Vajra Prajnaparamita Sutra implies, everything in the world has no inherent nature. Illusions are unreal, so you should have no attachment to the real world. If you really aspire to Buddhism, go north to practice Zen. I can write a book and show you to Master Hongren, the Fifth Patriarch."
"Thank you, Master." Zhang Shaofei was extremely happy.
Zen Master Huiming took a step forward and faced Zhang Shaofei with a solemn expression: "A monk must not only see through the world of mortals and abstain from drinking and sex; but he must also remain determined and devote himself to hard training. Only then can he achieve true enlightenment."
"Well, well..." Zhang Shaofei couldn't help but nodded.
Zen Master Huiming thought for a moment: "However, to become a monk, you must obtain the consent of your family. Do you have a wife's house?"
"Not married yet."
"Who else is at home?"
"A loving mother is here."
"So, you are an only child and are dependent on your mother. Will she let you go north?"
"It depends on people. I will try my best to convince my mother."
Zhang Shaofei said goodbye to Zen Master Huiming. Along the way, he was thinking about how he should go back and tell his mother about this matter; and his beloved Alan sister who died...
