Besides, Zhang Shaofei was carrying firewood and unknowingly came to the single-plank bridge where the monk was lying on the creek in the valley last time.

But I saw the stream under the bridge making a "swishing" sound and flowing.

Facing this situation, Zhang Shaofei touched upon the past and couldn't help but sigh sadly: "Alas, the scenery remains the same, but the people have changed! The Taoist Master of Yunwu Mountain is no longer alive, where is that monk? Where are you now?"

Zhang Shaofei put down the firewood and lay on a large stone shaped like a sofa next to the bridge head. In his deep thoughts, the chanting of "People are passing on the bridge, but the water on the bridge is not flowing..." seems to be ringing in his ears again.

As if his soul had left his body, Zhang Shaofei followed the sound and looked around. Suddenly, a spectacle appeared in front of him: on the misty curtain of mist, a lifelike "Stone Statue of the Taoist Priest of Yunwu Mountain" was sitting upright. On the peak, a colorful halo appeared, reflecting the Taoist priest's entire figure inside, like a colorful halo above the stone statue's head.

In an instant, Zhang Shaofei was shocked by the strange scene in front of him.

Taoist Priest Yunwushan...is still alive?

When Zhang Shaofei returned from his mysterious meditation to the "Stone Statue of Taoist Priest of Yunwu Mountain" in front of Saint Ancestor Peak, he realized even more how incredible the spectacle in front of him was...

Zhang Shaofei was about to carry firewood across the bridge when a melodious pastoral song came faintly from the distance. Occasionally, he could also faintly hear the sound of gentle footsteps caused by walking. It turned out to be a shepherd boy riding upside down on the back of a cow, blowing a pastoral song from a leaf in his mouth.

In the distance are rolling green mountains, and in front of you is a small river flowing slowly.

Zhang Shaofei waited for the shepherd boy to approach the bridge and asked, "Little brother, what song were you playing just now?"

The shepherd boy drank the big buffalo, sat on its back, and said, "I know whether it blew, and you know whether it heard. If I blew, why can't I hear the sound at this moment? If I said I didn't blow, what would you do? Will you ask questions because of this?”

When Zhang Shaofei heard this, he knew that he had met an expert again today. He knew that he was not his opponent, so he said bluntly: "Little brother, I feel that these few words you said are vaguely understandable. At first glance, they sound quite clear." I understand, but when I think about it carefully, I am confused again.”

The shepherd boy asked: "Brother, don't you understand?"

Zhang Shaofei replied: "No. Please let me know, little brother."

"Okay, this time I will explain it clearly to you. Listen carefully." After the shepherd boy said it, he chanted loudly: "Walking north and south on East and West Street, I suddenly heard someone biting a dog outside. I picked up the dog and threw bricks. Brick bit his hand. Strange, strange, really strange, the sparrow killed the old hen. An ant was three feet long, and the old man was sleeping in the cradle..."

When the shepherd boy said this, Zhang Shaofei was speechless: "This, this, this... what kind of song is this?"

The shepherd boy laughed and told you: "This is an upside-down song!" After that, the shepherd boy rode the cow across the single-plank bridge and walked away.

Zhang Shaofei stood blankly at the end of the single-plank bridge, with green water still flowing under the bridge.

Seeing that it was getting late, Zhang Shaofei picked up firewood, crossed the single-plank bridge, and continued on his way.

Passing by the water pool in the middle of the mountain forest, Zhang Shaofei was attracted by the scenery here and couldn't help but stop.

The gorgeous sunset, like spilled paint, spreads to the horizon, setting off the blood-red sunset. But the setting sun, like a drunken poet, plunged into the pool, swaying and dyeing the clear water into a dazzling bright red. It flickered and rolled, and from time to time emitted a bright red glow to the sky.

He was so mesmerized by the sight that he unknowingly put down the load of firewood, sat down by the mirror-like pool, and naturally began to think...

I don't know how long it took, but when he woke up from his meditation, he found that the pool of water dyed red by the sunset turned silvery white.

"Isn't it right? I feel like the water in the pool changed color after just sitting for a while..." Zhang Shaofei said to himself. When he looked up, he saw a bright moon rising in the sky.

The moon reflected in the water, the cloudless sky...

Zhang Shaofei was moved by this scene, and his mind was opened. "There is water in thousands of rivers and moons in thousands of rivers, and there are no clouds in thousands of miles of sky." This extremely high-level Buddhist verse actually came out of his mouth.

What a state this is!

At this time, from Zhang Shaofei's point of view, water is water and the moon is moon. Due to the illumination of the moonlight, there is a moon in the water and the moon is in the water. But the moon in the water is not the moon, but an illusion of the water; the moon in the water is a reflection of the water. It’s a bit of a right-wrong, no-right-right feeling.

As the Vajra Prajnaparamita says, in the hearts of millions of people, there are millions of Buddhas. Tens of thousands of Buddhas are like thousands of rivers and moons, and ten thousand Buddhas are one Buddha. Searching for the Buddha with your heart is like fishing for the moon in the water. The mind has nothing to seek, is as peaceful as still water, and has a mind that corresponds to the Buddha. This mind is a Buddha.

Buddhist scriptures: Everyone can be a Bodhisattva. Bodhi means enlightenment, and Sattva means sentient beings. Bodhisattva is a practitioner who is prophetic and enlightens, and benefits all living beings. In my impression, Buddhism is not very demanding on the rituals for entering the religion. It is said that "if you have a Buddha in your heart, you will become a Buddha when you see others". There is also a saying of "put down the butcher's knife and become a Buddha immediately."

Although there are many Buddhist believers, the reasons and purposes of converting to Buddhism are not the same, just like "there is water in a thousand rivers and a moon in a thousand rivers".

There is only one moon, but it refracts vastly different reflections due to different water conditions. Zen Buddhism has many exquisite stories spread throughout the world. The "sudden enlightenment" that Zen Buddhism emphasizes is the best embodiment of Buddhism's desire to return to the Buddha nature in human nature without sticking to fixed patterns.

People who are not yet enlightened follow the Buddhist precepts meticulously and gain peace of mind while following them; people who are about to become enlightened gradually understand the essence of Buddhism in the process of following it; people who are enlightened have already understood the true meaning of Buddhism and are transcendent. , no longer bound by rules.

"The bright moon in Qin and the moon in Han", after all, only exists in the poet's fantasy. With the changes in the sea, today's moon is definitely not the moon of ancient times, and the moon of tomorrow is almost not today's moon.

There is water in the river, and there is a moon in the sky. As long as there is water in thousands of rivers, there will be a moon on thousands of rivers.

"Thousands of rivers have water and thousands of rivers have the moon." The moon is like the Buddha's nature, and thousands of rivers are like all living beings. No matter how big or small the river is, if there is water, there will be the moon; no matter whether people are high or low, they will have Buddha-nature.

Buddha nature is in the human heart and is everywhere; just like the moon shining on a river, it reflects everything. Any living being, as long as he is determined to learn Buddhism, will have Buddha nature. As long as any river has water, it will have a bright moon.

"There are no clouds in the sky." There are clouds in the sky, and the sky is above the clouds. As long as there are no clouds in the sky for thousands of miles, then there will be blue sky for thousands of miles. Heaven can be regarded as the Buddha's mind, while clouds can be regarded as material desires and worries.

When worries and material desires are gone, the true nature of the Buddha mind will naturally appear.

When the false becomes true, the true is also false; inaction sometimes exists and then ceases to exist. Buddha nature is between existence and non-existence; worldly affairs are wandering between reality and reality. In this way, whether it is the moon, water, dreams, or sorrow, when we come to the Buddhist school, the verse says: All water is marked with one month, and one month is marked with all water. What a state!

"Hey, hey! The sun has passed the zenith, and you are still sleeping! Aren't you afraid that your family won't see you and worry about you when you go back?" It was the hunter from last time again. He saw the firewood boy lying on the big rock. No matter how much he screamed, he wouldn't wake up, so he stretched out his hand and pushed him a few times.

Zhang Shaofei was sleepwalking when his brain suddenly woke up and he could hear someone talking to him, but he couldn't move his limbs and couldn't shout even if he wanted to.

In fact, this is a manifestation of the separation of a person's soul and body, and he feels like he is floating.

At this time, Zhang Shaofei probably felt this way.

Zhang Shaofei was pushed by the hunter, stirred up, and suddenly woke up. He stood up with a "Huo" sound, "Ah, I was scared to death! I thought I was kidnapped..."

"Why did you fall asleep?" The hunter asked with concern when he saw Zhang Shaofei's sleepy look.

"You...why is it you again?" Zhang Shaofei opened his eyes wide and asked confusedly.

"I won't wake you up, I'm afraid you'll sleep until dark!" The hunter pointed to the sky and said to Zhang Shaofei.

Zhang Shaofei looked up and said anxiously: "Ah! The sun has already passed the zenith. I have to carry firewood down the mountain to the firewood market to sell it, and then buy rice to go home. My mother is still waiting for me to buy rice and go back to cook. .”

"Since you still know that your parents are waiting for you to return home, then you must never sleep in the wilderness again! You saw how dangerous it was last time..." Perhaps it is the natural result of father's love. , which made the hunter feel more caring for the woodcutter who was similar in age to his son. When the hunter said this, he took out a pancake from his bag and handed it to Zhang Shaofei, and said lovingly, "It's already this hour. Let’s eat a piece of pancake first to satisfy our hunger so that we can have the strength to carry firewood on the road.”

Zhang Shaofei declined: "Uncle, this is the lunch you saved for lunch. If I eat it, won't you be hungry?"

Seeing what Zhang Shaofei said, the hunter smiled and took out another piece of pancake from his bag. While eating, he said, "I still have some in my bag! My child, eat quickly, and you can go on your way after eating."

Seeing how enthusiastic the hunter was, Zhang Shaofei had no choice but to be respectful rather than obey.

At this time, Zhang Shaofei was indeed so hungry that he took the pancake and wolfed down the whole pancake at once.

When the hunter saw Zhang Shaofei finished eating the pancakes, he took off the gourd tied to his belt from his waist and handed it to Zhang Shaofei, "Have a drink of water."

After Zhang Shaofei drank the water, he said comfortably: "Ah, I'm full. I feel so comfortable." Zhang Shaofei was about to say "Thank you!" Then he remembered that he had not asked the other party's name.

Before Zhang Shaofei could speak, the hunter opened his mouth and asked, "What's your name?" Obviously, the hunter and Zhang Shaofei had the same idea.

Zhang Shaofei stepped forward and said respectfully: "My surname is Zhang and my first name is Shaofei." After Zhang Shaofei introduced himself, he then asked, "Uncle, what is your surname?"

The hunter pointed at the mountain opposite, "My name is Ding Dayong. I am from Eshi Village on Yunwu Mountain. Most of our people there make a living by hunting."

Zhang Shaofei looked at the endless fields and rows of villages at the foot of the mountain and said, "I am from Taizhen Village at the foot of the mountain. I make a living by collecting firewood."

"Oh... it's more than ten miles away from Taizhen Village. It takes a long time to walk. Fei, you'd better hurry up." Ding Dayong reminded Zhang Shaofei.

"Thank you, Uncle Dayong." After Zhang Shaofei finished speaking, he picked up firewood and said goodbye to Ding Dayong.
