It first appeared in Ban Gu's "Book of Han·Praise to Gongsun Liu Tian and Others".
The original text is the sentence that Xie Defu just read [There is no choice among those who fight against each other].
What does that mean?
[Dou] Everyone present knows that ten liters of a container equals one dou.
But the word "粲" is relatively rare. It is also a kind of container for holding rice. One 粲 is made up of twelve liters.
A dou-shun disciple describes a person who has a small capacity.
