No one went up to collect the money. After all, no one was dead. How could their family members burn paper and send money to them?
When the two ghost officers saw that Zhang Ze and others did not respond, they could only shrug and said: "Then you go to the Ghost Realm Fort in front. You have no money and you don't even have a place to live. It's really pitiful..."
Zhang Feng muttered: "We have become ghosts. Does it matter whether we have a place to live? I really don't understand. What's so pitiful about this?"
A group of people walked through the Support Pavilion and headed towards the Ghost Realm Fort ahead.
According to Dou Zhanfo, the Ghost Realm Castle is where ghosts live.
The tortured ghosts will come here to stay temporarily, waiting for reincarnation.
Logically speaking, reincarnation requires queuing, and the emphasis is on first come, first served.
However, there are also special circumstances, that is, those who have done good deeds during their lifetime can be reincarnated first.
As for those great virtuous people and those with perfect merit, they can even choose the family they want to be reincarnated into.
"Dear donors, can we stay at Ghost World Castle for a few days? I would like to explore the whereabouts of Master here?"
Dou Zhanfo asked Zhang Ze and others for instructions. Naturally, no one objected, so the matter was settled.
From the outside, Ghost World Castle looks like a huge ancient city, covering a very large area.
Think about it, so many people die every day, and ghosts come to live here, so the place cannot be small.
After registering at the entrance to the city, everyone entered the Ghost Realm Castle. Walking there, they felt as if they had arrived in a bustling city in the underworld.
Restaurants, tea shops, and temple fairs can also be seen here. The only drawback is that the residents here are all gray-faced and silent.
Even though there was a steady flow of people, there was still a dead silence, which seemed a little penetrating.
"Okay, let's find a place to rest first, and then help Douzhan Buddha find his master together."
Zhang Ze looked at a restaurant not far away and said, "Let's go to this restaurant to have a rest... No, we don't have any money, so we don't seem to be able to stay in a hotel."
"Don't worry about this." Douzhan Buddha opened his palm, and a stack of yellow paper money appeared on it.
"Where did you get the paper money?" Zhang Ze took it and asked curiously.
The victorious Buddha smiled slyly: "It's made of monkey hair."
Zhang Ze held his forehead, fighting and defeating the Buddha gave him a very stable feeling along the way, and he could even be said to be unsmiling.
He thought that the fighting Buddha had changed his nature and was no longer Sun Wukong. Unexpectedly, his true nature was hard to change.
But to be honest, Zhang Ze still prefers the naughty and lively Sun Wukong, rather than the boring fighting and victorious Buddha in front of him.
The group of people entered the restaurant, and the guests eating in the lobby were also lifeless. What they ate was not real food, but small incense burners with incense.
These ghost guests greedily smoke the green smoke released after burning incense. Looking at their intoxicated appearance, they look like big smokers.
At this time, the waiter slowly came up to us. There was no smile on his bloodless face, and he said in a stiff tone: "Guests, do you want to eat or stay in the hotel?"
"Stay in the hotel..."
After the giant god spoke, he saw that the waiter's body was still, his head was rotated 180 degrees on his neck, the back of his head was facing them, and he shouted to the shopkeeper behind the counter: "Thirteen distinguished guests!"
Then, he turned his head back and said: "Please ask some guest officers to go to the counter to settle the accounts."
As they watched the waiter leave, everyone felt a chill running down their backs.
Although they are also in ghost state now, the other party's operation is so intrusive that even those with a weak heart can easily get sick from the fright!
When I came to the counter, although the shopkeeper's face was also ashen, at least he could see a smile.
"The guest rooms in our hotel are divided into single rooms, double rooms and quadruple rooms... How do you plan to stay here?"
"How much do these types of rooms cost?" Zhang Ze asked.
Although Du Zhanfu gave him a wad of paper money, Zhang Ze didn't know what the prices here were like, so he wanted to find out more about it and he had a good idea.
"A single room costs 1,000 yuan, a double room costs 1,500 yuan, a quadruple room costs 3,000 yuan..."
After hearing the quotation, Zhang Ze looked at the thick paper money in his hand again, and suddenly felt that he didn't have enough money.
The little money princess next to her smacked her tongue: "A thousand a night? Isn't the room price too expensive? A five-star hotel?"
Xiaoniaoyiren interjected: "Don't you know that money in the underworld is not valuable? Every time our family worships ancestors, we have to burn a lot of paper money, just because we are afraid that the ancestors will not have enough money down there."
Dou Shengfo said: "Master, don't worry about money. I still have enough here."
Zhang Ze understood his hint. There are plenty of monkey hairs, so spend them as you like!
In this case, he was not polite and nodded: "We have thirteen people here, six women and seven men... Then we need a double room and three four-person rooms."
"Okay, a total of fifteen hundred dollars!"
After paying, everyone followed the waiter into their respective guest rooms. The rooms inside were spacious and clean, but that was all.
Everyone agreed to gather back in the hotel lobby and then go out together to find Tang Seng's whereabouts.
At this moment, an old woman walked into the hotel tremblingly and asked to stay.
But the waiter in the shop kicked the old woman out without any explanation. Judging from his words, the old woman had no money.
"Please be kind, if I continue to live on the streets, the Wandering Soul Lord will suck my soul dry!"
The old woman begged bitterly: "I have suffered so much and am about to be reincarnated. I don't want to die here!"
Little Moonlight Rabbit asked curiously: "What is Wandering Soul Master? Why does he still suck people's souls?"
Fighting Buddha explained: "It is also a ghost in hell, but it knew some magic during its lifetime and its Taoism was higher than ordinary people. Unfortunately, its heart is bad. It relies on absorbing other ghosts to improve its cultivation. To put it bluntly, it is a ghost." build."
Only then did everyone realize.
This kind of ghost cultivator is so powerful that he may not even dare to control the ghosts, so he dares to run rampant here.
The waiter in the shop had no expression on his face and continued to push people away: "What does your soul being lost have to do with us? Go find your children and ask them to burn paper and give you money. What's the point of crying about poverty here?"
"Oh, my son and grandson have died in the war, how can anyone burn paper and send money to me..." The old woman became more and more sad as she spoke, covering her face and crying.
The surrounding ghosts just glanced at it casually and turned away. After turning into ghosts, the last bit of humanity and compassion was gone.
Zhang Ze curled his lips, walked forward, put the remaining paper money in his hand into the old woman's hand, and said: "Old lady, take this money to stay in the hotel."
The old woman was stunned and kept bowing to Zhang Ze and thanking him: "Thank you! Thank you! You are such a kind person! Just like that eminent monk..."
As soon as she said this, Zhang Ze's heart suddenly moved and he quickly asked: "Old lady, who is the eminent monk you are talking about? Can you tell me about it?"
"Okay, okay, I'll tell you everything!"
The old woman nodded repeatedly. The money Zhang Ze gave her was life-saving money. It would allow her to live here for at least ten and a half days. By then, she would be able to reincarnate safely.
The crowd took the old woman to find an empty table and sat down. The old woman said, "I met that eminent monk when I first came to Ghost Realm Castle. At that time, I had no money and no place to live. At night, the wandering soul came out to suck my soul, and I was so scared that I ran away. It happened that this eminent monk was passing by and he gave me his Buddhist beads."
"The Buddhist beads were so powerful that Wandering Soul didn't dare to approach them, so he left. I originally wanted to return the beads to the eminent monk, but he disappeared too..."
Zhang Ze asked: "What about the Buddhist beads? Are they still on you?"
"Still..." The old woman carefully took out a string of white beads from her arms, handed them to Zhang Ze, and said: "This string of beads was originally golden, but every time it protected me, its color became dim. One point... now, it has no mana at all."
Zhang Ze took the beads and asked Douzhan Buddha to see them.
The Dou Sheng Buddha looked directly at the beads and said solemnly: "These belong to Master!"
Monk Sha also nodded vigorously: "Yes, Master took this string of beads with him on the way to obtain Buddhist scriptures."
In fact, Zhang Ze had already guessed that apart from Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, the only eminent monk who could be seen in hell was Tang Monk.
After asking a few more questions, they found out that the old woman really didn't know the whereabouts of Tang Seng, so everyone had to give up.
"So, from what this old woman said, we can know that Tang Monk is not in the eighteenth level of hell."
Yiye Zhiqiu analyzed: "There are only two possibilities now. One, Tang Monk is still in Ghost World Fort, and two, he left Ghost World Fort and went to the next place."
Zhang Ze looked at Fighting Victory Buddha: "Where is the next stop of Ghost Realm Castle?"
"This is the Lotus Terrace, where Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva lectures." Douzhan Buddha pondered: "Could it be that Master went to find Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva?"
This possibility is very high. After all, both of them are Buddhist disciples. Maybe Tang Monk was brought there by Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva.
The giant god was a little worried: "The three realms have been polluted by the evil power of Wutian Demon. Even hell is not immune. Will Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva also..."
Although he didn't say it directly, everyone understood what he meant.
"This possibility cannot be ruled out." Shandao Bubu pursed his lips and said, "As long as we find Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, we will be able to find the answer."
"In this case, we will set off immediately to the Lotus Terrace to find Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva." Zhang Ze finally settled the matter, and everyone left the Ghost Realm Fort and headed to the next stop, the Lotus Terrace.
I happened to meet a team on the road. Although this team of ghosts was also escorted by ghost officers, they had a smile on their faces because they were about to be reincarnated.
This is undoubtedly the best outcome for the ghosts who are tortured in hell.
Even though the human world is full of suffering, it is still better than the gloomy and terrifying hell.
Moreover, they also have an opportunity to escape from the six realms of reincarnation. As long as they practice immortality and recite Buddha's name, attain the Tao and become immortals, they will not go to hell after death and will be reborn in bliss.
Therefore, many ghosts are full of expectations for the next life, even if they don't know what their next life will be like, whether the family they will be reincarnated into will be poor or rich, or even whether they will be human.
Zhang Ze and others followed this group of ghosts. The fighting Buddha told them that the Lotus Terrace is the only way to be reincarnated. All ghosts must listen to Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva's sermons at the Lotus Terrace in order to eliminate the previous ghosts. Sin, "travel lightly."
As we moved forward, we heard the faint sound of chanting sutras in the distance. The sound was clear to our ears, as if someone was chanting sutras in their mind.
"Look, there's a golden light ahead!"
Moonlight Bunny pointed forward and shouted excitedly: "That must be the Lotus Terrace, right?"
The Buddha who won the battle had golden light on his body, and Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva was also a Buddha, so she guessed that the golden light must belong to Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva.
"Yes, that is the Lotus Terrace."
Fighting Buddha nodded: "The last time I came to the underworld, I met Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva. He persuaded me to convert to Buddhism, but I scolded him and left."
Everyone: "..."
The ghost messenger shouted to the group of ghosts: "I'll give you an hour! How much you can understand depends on your own luck!"
"Thank you, sir!"
The ghosts thanked them repeatedly and hurriedly ran towards the golden light, followed by Zhang Ze and others.
When they got closer, they saw a huge lotus platform floating in the air, with a kind-hearted monk sitting on it, chanting Buddhist scriptures mindfully.
Below him, there were so many ghosts listening to the scriptures that it was impossible to count them.
Each of these ghosts has a pious expression and clasped hands, trying to understand the content of the Buddhist scriptures.
Some even recite it together, hoping that it will be engraved in their minds forever and that they can increase their blessings in future reincarnations.
Of course, this is the world set in Journey to the West, where demons, ghosts and immortals are everywhere, so people here believe in this.
In Zhang Ze's own world, these would be feudal superstitions.
"Is Tang Monk here?"
Everyone was looking for Tang Seng among the ghosts listening to the scriptures. Soon, a handsome bald guy was spotted by Zhang Feng. She pulled Zhang Ze's arm: "Brother, is that Tang Seng?"
Zhang Ze looked over and saw that he didn't recognize Tang Seng either, but the fighting Buddha next to him recognized him: "It's my master!"
Watching the victorious Buddha and Monk Sha running towards Tang Monk, Zhang Ze turned his attention to Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva.
"Reciting Buddhist scriptures orally, with a golden light on the back... This should not be affected by the Wutian Demon, right?"
Zhang Ze narrowed his eyes. For some reason, he always felt that Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva's eyes were also directed at him.
"Rakshasa donor..."
A voice suddenly appeared in his mind. Zhang Ze frowned and thought to himself: "Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva?"
"It's the poor monk..."
Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva kept chanting sutras, but he could continue to speak in Zhang Ze's mind.
"The poor monk has an unkind request. I wonder if the Rakshasa benefactor can agree to it?"
"What kind of unkind invitation?"
"Please spare the life of Emperor Fengdu..."
Zhang Ze pondered for a moment and asked, "Why do you want to plead for him?"
"Although Fengdu City is an eerie and terrifying place, it is an important and indispensable part of the Three Realms."
"As the master of Fengdu City, Emperor Fengdu plays a very important role. If he ceases to exist, there will be chaos in the underworld."
"Undead ghosts will eventually cause harm to the world if they are left unchecked. When the time comes, even greater disasters will occur, and even life will be devastated and the world will be destroyed!"
There is indeed some truth to Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva's words. Zhang Ze thought about it and asked, "If Emperor Fengdu dies, why can't you take over here?"
"Haha, the way of heaven is orderly, and everyone performs his or her duties."
Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva smiled lightly and said: "The duty of the poor monk is to save the evil spirits in hell, not to manage the entire hell."
"With limited capabilities, we are not qualified for this important task."
Curling his lips, Zhang Ze knew that Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva did not want to interfere in the affairs of the underworld. After all, there were two "systems".
He nodded and said, "Okay, I will handle it as appropriate."
"The poor monk thanks the benefactor for all the people in the world."
