The proven oil in Kazakhstan and Sasha areas has attracted great attention from the scientific community.
Whoever can solve this problem will not only become a leader in the scientific community, but the benefits will be astonishing.
In fact, research on heat engines has been carried out in the West for more than 50 years.
As early as 1794 in Blue Star, scientists from the United States proposed the theory of obtaining power from the combustion of fuel. Blue Star In 1833, a device that used combustion pressure to push a piston to do work was invented. Blue Star In 1860, the first gas heat engine was invented, but the thermal efficiency was very low. In 1862, the theory of the four-stroke working cycle was proposed, and the theory of converting the internal energy of gasoline and diesel combustion into mechanical energy in a thermal engine was further improved.
Therefore, the theory is already sufficient, but we still need to build diesel and gasoline internal combustion engines according to the theory.
Blue Star In May 1864, the Chinese government immediately organized a powerful scientific research team from various universities called the "Heart of China". China began to invest a large amount of money in the further research and development of internal combustion engines.
There are also many private scientists who are also involved in research.
From theory to practice, the "Heart of China" team continues to draw new design drawings, revise and improve original plans, and seek more efficient and stable working methods.
Scientists worked around the clock, immersed in studying the principles of the internal combustion engine. Constantly conducting exhaustive experiments, overturning hypotheses again and again, and constantly searching for answers.
In the national laboratory, the "Heart of China" team has continuously improved and tested the internal combustion engines they produced. They try different fuels, adjust the structure and working principle of the engine, and strive to improve efficiency and reliability.
Finally, in November 1864, on a snowy night, the roar of the internal combustion engine resounded throughout the laboratory, and a perfect diesel internal combustion engine finally came out. This new engine was called the "Chinese engine". "Heart" No. 1 because it played a key role in China's development and prosperity.
The advent of "Heart of China" No. 1 provided new uses for oil, and oil in Kazakhstan and Sasha areas began to be continuously exploited.
At the same time, a large number of agricultural machinery also used internal combustion engines, and China's grain production capacity increased significantly, becoming the largest agricultural country.
In fact, "Heart of China" No. 1 has a more important purpose, which is to manufacture submarines.
Blue Star December 1864, in the Chinese government conference room.
"Although the railway has solved an urgent need, we must always find ways to regain control of the sea. The new Chinese field artillery and cruisers have achieved certain victories, but it is far from enough to completely defeat the Western powers." (The Chinese Field War mentioned here. The situation of guns and cruisers will be explained in the next chapter)
Shi Dakai spoke first.
"If we build ships according to conventional ideas to lift the maritime blockade, it will take at least three years to build a "Warrior". After three years, the Mizi Kingdom and the Gallic Kingdom will have been updated."
Zhu Yidian looked serious.
"If it is blocked in such a robbery-like manner for three years, it will have a huge impact on China's industry and commerce."
After Tong Ronghai finished speaking, he started to sigh.
"The Pacific Fleet is still in its infancy, and a large number of cruisers are still in production. It is not suitable for fighting another war unless we can find another way."
Zhang Zhidong said.
"To find another way, this word describes it well. The free country on the other side of the ocean is still fighting a civil war. This time they used a new type of equipment in the civil war, called a submarine."
Shi Dakai patted the table.
The word "submarine" cheered up everyone present.
This is another novelty.
"But the current submarines have many shortcomings. They are slow in speed, small in stealth depth, and weak in maneuverability. Most of them are driven by human power, which shows how primitive they are." Zhang Zhidong said.
"However, we now have a "Heart of China". By strengthening our steel manufacturing technology, we can create unique submarines."
The people present became more energetic as they listened.
Finally, Zhang Zhidong took over the important task of building a new submarine, codenamed "Project Qianlong".
In this era without anti-submarine helicopters, it can be said that submarines have no natural enemies at sea. As long as they do not surface, they are the overlord of the sea.
Blue Star In December 1864, China officially launched the "Qianlong Project" and began to develop and manufacture submarines with three-level power. All shipyards across the country began to manufacture them non-stop.
The so-called three-level power is driven by electricity underwater, driven by a diesel internal combustion engine during the ascent and sinking processes, and driven by a steam engine and a diesel engine after ascent.
The purpose of using so many power systems is to solve the problem of slow speed. With a three-level system, the submarine will be faster than a cruiser. Before the advent of nuclear submarines, this configuration can be said to be the highest configuration.
The small submarine "Jiaolong" and the giant submarine "Kunpeng" began to enter the production stage.
The "Jiaolong" has a dual-drive system of a diesel internal combustion engine and an electric motor. In order to save costs and manufacturing time, this speed is sufficient.
"Jiaolong" is 15 meters long and 3 meters wide. It has a surface speed of 15 knots and an underwater speed of 8 knots. It can carry 5 torpedoes and is equipped with two artillery. It can last 70 nautical miles underwater and has a displacement of 64 tons.
The giant submarine "Kunpeng" is equipped with a three-stage power system, with a total length of 105 meters, a width of 8 meters, an underwater displacement of 2,500 tons, a surface navigation of up to 20 knots, and an underwater speed of 12 knots. It is equipped with 8 torpedo launch tubes and 10 guns. The cost of the artillery is as high as 300,000 Chinese yuan.
In addition, five supply ships need to be built to provide diesel and electricity for the entire submarine fleet.
These two submarines, after production, can be said to be the most advanced in the world. The speed of light is enough to shock the West.
The only shortcoming at present is that diesel and electricity must be replenished in time when it floats up. Therefore, the submarine battle group also needs to be equipped with cruisers, which must provide protection when the submarine floats up.
The production cycle of "Jiaolong" is 3 months.
Blue Star In December 1866, the "Kunpeng" was officially launched into service.
