But you have to remember that life has its own destiny and everything has a cause and effect. Whether your parents and family love you or not, you were all destined to be together in your previous life, otherwise you would not be able to become a family.
Either you owed them something in your previous life, and you have to pay it back in this life, or they owe you something, and you have to pay it back in this life.
In short, it is either to repay a favor, to take revenge, or to be inspired by shared karma.
The first two are easier to understand. If you are inspired by common karma, then no matter how hard your life is or how poor you are, you don’t have to resent your parents, and you don’t have to scold your children for being worthless. Strictly speaking, you are considered inmates.
Because you are called by common karma, that is, people who share the same cause and effect in the human world, so some people live miserable lives and always want to find someone to do things to change their destiny. I say that human destiny cannot be changed. , no matter how many rituals you do, they can only fine-tune it within a limited range for you, because you are born with this result, and gods and Buddhas cannot change the result, let alone humans?
So what you should do is not to turn this fate into a feud and continue it, but how to resolve this fate in this life so that you will not owe each other anything in the next life.
Do more good deeds, love your family more, think more from others' perspective, and look at everything with tolerance and tolerance. Only in this way can you change your destiny. You can't just rely on doing things.
Maybe, when you let go of the hatred and baggage in your heart and try to love your parents and family, you will find that things are not as bad as you thought.
It’s better to have more love and light in your heart than more hatred and darkness, don’t you think?
What I just mentioned is the first type. Being filial to your parents and elders, and caring for your brothers and sisters can gain virtuous qualities and change your destiny.
The second type is to do good deeds. Doing good deeds does not necessarily have to be anonymous or publicized, but it must be done out of the original intention and cannot be done intentionally.
If you don't preach it, your positive virtues will not be immediately transformed into rewards, but they will be automatically converted into negative virtues. When you encounter difficulties, the rewards of your positive virtues will be rewarded on you.
Here is a story about "Pei Du also brought the belt". It tells that in the Tang Dynasty, there was a prime minister named Pei Du. He looked at the prime minister and said: He will definitely starve to death in the future.
At that time, Pei Du was in poverty. Because he failed in the imperial examinations many times and was told that he would starve to death in the future, he was depressed every day and went to the temple to relax.
As a result, I saw a young woman leaving in a hurry after praying to the Buddha, forgetting to pick up the baggage at her feet. Pei Du hurriedly chased after her, but when he failed to catch up, he waited for the woman with the bundle.
After waiting for a day and still not coming, I went to the temple to wait the next day, and finally I saw the woman.
It turned out that this woman's father was wrongfully framed and thrown into prison. She took the precious jade belt to give as a gift, but forgot the baggage of the jade belt in the temple.
Pei Du returned all the baggage and the jade belt. The woman thanked her and wanted to leave one as a gift to Pei Du. Pei Du smiled and said: If I covet this, why should I wait here?
After Pei Du returned home, he accidentally met the fortune teller again. The fortune teller was shocked to see Pei Du and asked him what adventures he had recently. Pei Du answered him truthfully.
The physiognomist praised: You returned the jade belt and accumulated yin virtues. The facial features of the soaring snake pattern at the entrance have changed. They no longer have the entrance, but have become the jade belt pattern. You will definitely be rich and wealthy in the future.
As a result, Pei Du passed the Jinshi examination that year, and later became the prime minister, assisting Emperor Xianzong of the Tang Dynasty to achieve the "Yuanhe Zhongxing", and indeed achieved unlimited wealth.
So you see, doing good deeds changes your appearance and your destiny.
Of course, there are some negative cases. For example, a few years ago I met a person who liked winter swimming. By chance, he saved a child who fell into the water, and it was even published in the newspaper.
From then on, this man cut and plastic-sealed the newspaper and carried it with him every day. Whenever he went out to discuss business with people, he would take out the newspaper, show it to others, and say that I saved a child in which year and month. , has been in the newspapers, you will definitely not suffer any loss if you cooperate with me.
To be honest, at the beginning there were still some people who were willing to buy it and thought he was a good person. But as time went by, everyone became annoyed and thought this person was annoying. He kept talking about saving people, and even plastic-wrapped it and carried it with him everywhere. So no one cooperated with him anymore, and they all thought there was something wrong with his brain.
Therefore, this matter is a negative case. It is not impossible to talk about the good things we have done, but talking about it endlessly will not only offend people, but also make this virtue disappear quickly.
Therefore, it is of course good to be kind to others, but everything should have a certain degree. We often see people who have been doing good things, but their families are actually not doing well. This is probably because they are too utilitarian and have done too much. .
Doing good deeds should be done casually and not too deliberately. If you meet a person in difficulty on the road and you help this person without asking for anything in return, you have actually formed a good relationship. Sometimes a small good deed can lead to incredible results.
As the saying goes: Do good deeds with intention, but you will not be rewarded even if you do good deeds. Doing good deeds without intention is only merit.
"Tai Shang Ying Pian" says: "Those who accumulate yin virtues will surely have prosperous descendants. They do not waste natural resources, do not engage in sexual misconduct, do not destroy orthodox religions, and do good deeds. Healing the wounded and rescue the wounded, being anxious for people in trouble, and not hiding thieves are yin virtuous. Do not do good deeds." , If you don’t accumulate negative virtues, then the evil destinies will be everywhere!”
The third way to obtain Yin virtue is to endure difficulties and promote righteousness.
"Three Annotations to Ziyang Zhenren's Enlightenment Chapter" records: "Accumulating good deeds and no one knows about it is a yin virtue. Not putting others in danger is a yin virtue. Making expedients in secret is a yin virtue. A great practitioner who has not accumulated enough virtues will rarely be attacked by external demons." . If you can reflect inwardly and exercise great patience and diligence, then the demonic obstacles will turn into negative virtues."
The general meaning of this passage is: Doing good deeds without anyone knowing about them is a kind of "yin virtue". Not letting people fall into danger is also a kind of "yin virtue". Doing good deeds secretly to facilitate others is also a kind of "yin virtue".
So for true ascetics, if their good deeds are not enough, they can easily be attacked by external evil forces. But if we can reflect on ourselves and develop the spirit of patience and diligence, then the interference of evil spirits will also be transformed into "yin virtues".
