After figuring this out, I feel like I understand a lot more, and I feel happy.

When I came home from get off work and mentioned this matter to Uncle Ma, he just smiled and said, "What do you think? You can't save this kind of person who is obsessed with his mind and has been deceived into lameness."

In other words, this is also a calamity in that girl’s life, her karma, and you can’t stop it or save her.

So, some people come to us and beg us to save them. If this person's disaster comes to an end and she has a fate with us, then the medicine will naturally cure her illness.

But sometimes, this person's disaster, or karma, has not yet come to an end, so even if you find us, you may not be able to completely resolve it.

To put it simply, God made you suffer three years of disaster, and you came to me for help in the second year. I advised you to do good deeds and accumulate virtue, and to repent to God, but you refused and couldn’t do it even if you agreed. Then I I can't save you. You have to get rid of all the disasters before you can get ahead.

Therefore, this kind of person is someone who should not be saved, and is someone who has no destiny, so he should not be cared for.

I expressed this realization to Uncle Ma. He nodded with approval, but then pointed at my nose.

"You, actually, you don't have to think this way. Everyone has different causes and consequences, different destinies, and different tasks in the world. You just need to follow your heart in everything. No matter what decision you make, you don't have to look forward or backward. Deliberately struggling, as the saying goes, humans follow the earth, the earth follows the sky, heaven follows the Tao, and the Tao follows nature. There are laws of movement between heaven and earth. All we have to do is follow the trend."

Uncle Ma's words gave me a new understanding, but they also created new problems.

So I asked Uncle Ma, although many people believe that Taoism emphasizes conforming to nature, in fact Taoism practices immortality and immortality, which is contrary to nature and contradictory. What is your opinion on this?

Many people may have feelings about what I'm talking about, but they also have doubts.

There are three schools of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism. Among them, Confucianism fears destiny and cultivates one's moral integrity.

The Buddha also said that the roots of this body are transformed into illusions, karma cannot be escaped, and life will eventually end.

Taoism only desires immortality, transformation and soaring. Some people say that this is because they do not believe in the consequences of karma and resist nature, which is to go against nature.

There is also a saying that goes like this: Follow the rules and become ordinary, and go against the will and become immortal.

This is what Zhang Sanfeng, the founder of Wudang, wrote in "The Rootless Tree". The original text is as follows.

"In the world, a man and a woman are yin and yang, and they produce children and grandchildren for generations to come. If you follow the rules, you will be ordinary, and if you are unfaithful, you will become immortals. They are only topsy-turvy in the middle."

Therefore, there are often people who say that Taoist practice is contrary to nature, saying that Taoism does not believe in cause and effect and does not believe in heavenly principles.

After listening to my words, Uncle Ma smiled slightly and told me some truth.

He said that Taoism does not talk much about the consequences of karma, but about the greater burden of heaven.

It is said in "Tai Shang Induction Chapter": There is no way for misfortunes and blessings, but people call it upon themselves, and the rewards of good and evil follow them like a shadow.

As for "If you follow the rules, you will be ordinary, if you go against them, you will become immortals." This sentence actually means that after a person is born, he is like a tree without roots, growing higher and higher, but also farther and farther away from the Tao.

If you comply with this phenomenon, you will be ordinary; if you violate this phenomenon, you will become an immortal.

Therefore, to violate this phenomenon, we must strengthen the connection with Tao. Since we are strengthening the connection with Tao, how can it be against heaven?

Cultivating the Tao is by no means going against heaven, but returning to nature, going backwards from the "human" state, allowing oneself to return to the origin of "Tao" and the origin of heaven and earth.

As for the rumors in the public that people who practice Taoism will suffer from five evils and three deficiencies, they are all nonsense. Those people's five evils and three deficiencies are caused by their own karma and have nothing to do with Taoist practice.

To put it simply, it is because those people have bad karmic burdens and have committed five disadvantages and three shortcomings that they choose to enter the Taoist sect, instead of entering the Taoist sect and suffering from the five disadvantages and three shortcomings.

Of course, if a cultivator leaks the secrets of heaven and has evil intentions, he will indeed be punished, but that is his own death and his own evil. Therefore, it cannot be said that cultivating Taoism is not good.

Cultivation is also called surrendering the heart. What descends is our heart that has been contaminated by the day after tomorrow. Those who want to practice must let themselves have a loving heart as the first step of practice, so as to bring the distance between the Tao and their own hearts closer.

If you still don’t understand, I’ll make it simpler.

In fact, if you think about it carefully, you will understand that being obedient is a mortal, and being unfaithful is an immortal. The obedience here refers to following the life trajectory of ordinary people and being a mortal.

The word "ni" here means that ascetics should take a different path from ordinary people, go in the opposite direction and return to the great road.

However, anyone who goes in the opposite direction will inevitably encounter ups and downs, hardships, obstacles, and dangers in the process.

Only those who are mentally tough and have a strong Taoist heart can break through all kinds of obstacles and finally find a clear path.

It's like standing under a waterfall to practice cultivation. Most people are washed into the pool by the waterfall. Only the one who perseveres tenaciously can jump up, swim upstream, transform into a dragon, and go straight to the sky!

After listening to this, my blood boiled all over. I felt that the pores on my limbs had been opened, and the air flow from nowhere was whizzing back and forth on my body.

This passage is already teaching people how to walk on the high road.

Of course, for those who are stubborn and greedy, no matter what we say is invalid.

But for those who practice sincerely and sincerely do good, it is tantamount to enlightenment.

That night, I meditated in front of the hall to clear my mind and forget about myself and things.

In the past, I would only meditate for more than half an hour. If it lasted longer, I would be unable to stand up and my legs would become numb...

But today, I actually sat for almost an hour at a stretch, imagining the beautiful scenery of heaven and earth, looking forward to the boundless road, and feeling infinite joy in my heart.

At this moment, the grievances I had suffered, the ups and downs I had experienced, the hardships I had endured, the slander I had suffered, and the evil people I had encountered seemed to be nothing.

Because I was going in the opposite direction, returning to the great road. How could there be less demons blocking my way and less villains causing trouble along the way?

After getting up, I made a request to Uncle Ma for the first time.

I asked Uncle Ma that I had been reciting Buddhist sutras before and had activated Venerable Jialan's skin, but now I suddenly felt that I was very interested in Taoist thought.

So, can I join his old man and become a Taoist?

But I'm a little worried, because I don't know if this dual cultivation of Buddhism and Taoism is possible, let alone whether Uncle Ma will allow it.

When Uncle Ma heard what I said, his eyes lit up, he laughed for a while, and then slapped me on the head.

"You kid, how long have I been calling you? How long have I been calling you? Only now do you want to join the Tao. What have you been doing?"

"Aren't I lazy? I never thought about it that much..."

"Have you thought about it now?"

"Now... I'm actually a little worried. Do we have people who practice both Buddhism and Taoism?"

When I asked this question, Uncle Ma touched his chin and did not answer immediately. Instead, he pondered for a moment and then said to me with a smile.

"Normally speaking, it is not allowed. Anyone who enters my Taoism does not believe in other religions. But you can do it."

"Why can I?"

"Because you are handsome."

"Ah? Really? I don't believe it..."

"Bah, you are beautiful... stop talking nonsense and tell me. If you want to join Taoism, do you plan to join Zhengyi or Quanzhen?"
