Uncle Ma is indeed very knowledgeable and understands both Buddhism and Taoism. He told me that, strictly speaking, there are many, many Dharma protectors in Buddhism.
First of all, the word Jialan is Sanskrit, and its original meaning refers to the garden where monks live.
Because in the earliest days, there were no temples in Buddhism, and the monks lived in the woods. Later, there were temples, so Jialan also represented the temple.
Later, it also referred to the dharma-protecting deities of the temple, or generally to all the dharma-protecting benevolent deities who support Buddhism.
Therefore, I, the Dharma Protector Jialan Venerable, am often called the Jialan God.
But I am the Dharma protector of Jialan next to Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, so that means that it is still different from those in ordinary temples, at least the level should be higher.
There is also a very awesome figure, Guan Gong. His identity in Buddhism is Jialan Bodhisattva. Whether it is true or not is irrelevant, but it is definitely not on the same level as me.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not Guan Gong. I don't dare to say this nonsense. I'm afraid that the second master will hack me to death.
I was very happy when I heard that, but I quickly thought of a question. I said, Uncle Ma, since I, a Jialan Dharma Protector, can be reincarnated and come to the human world, then what does it mean that the previous Guan Great God claimed to be Guanyin Bodhisattva? Isn't it possible?
Uncle Ma laughed loudly and said that you are thinking too much. In fact, Dharma protector Jialan has not achieved fruition, so he still needs to go through reincarnation practice to consolidate himself and achieve perfection.
However, Guanyin Bodhisattva has attained the status of Bodhisattva. It is impossible for him to easily incarnate and come to the human world. Even if he comes, he still has a big task, let alone become a celestial being. Who wants to say that he is the incarnation of Guanyin Bodhisattva? It's all fucking bullshit. You're either crazy or trying to make money. Just don't believe it.
Should I say it or not, since I found out that I was a Dharma Protector of Jialan in my previous life, I feel like I am carrying a bit of wind when I walk.
Uncle Ma also said, you are different. You hold your head high day by day, be careful to keep a low profile, and don't look bad. It doesn't matter what you were in your previous life. The key is that you have to cultivate this life well, and don't let yourself come to this world in vain.
This sentence was also a revelation. I said, Uncle Ma, what you said is so right. I am just a Jialan Dharma protector, and I am a little confused. Those people say that they are from Guanyin Bodhisattva all the time, and I am afraid they have even forgotten their last name.
Uncle Ma laughed loudly and said that those people did not necessarily deliberately deceive others. Some people gave themselves wrong perceptions and then made mistakes.
There are also some people who are boasting about their own fairy, so they believe it in a daze. Coupled with the praise and belief of others, they become even more arrogant and simply regard themselves as Guanyin Bodhisattva.
I said that if this is the case, then everyone is Guanyin Bodhisattva, and I, Lord Jialan, don’t seem to have anything to brag about.
Uncle Ma laughed again and said, "What are you afraid of? They say they are Guanyin Bodhisattva. They are bragging and deceiving. You, Lord Jialan, are the real thing."
I still have some doubts. I said to Uncle Ma, since I have a deep connection with Buddhism in my previous life, and I am Lord Jialan, how come I meet you as my master in this life? Shouldn’t I find a monk?
Uncle Ma said bah bah bah, if you want to find a monk, go ahead now.
I chuckled and said that would not work. If I find a monk as my master now, my store will be gone. Do you think I am stupid?
Uncle Ma blew my mind and said that both Buddhism and Taoism are the right path to the great avenue. Why should you care? Isn’t it possible to practice both Buddhism and Taoism?
Well, practicing both Buddhism and Taoism sounds really good.
On this day, when I had nothing to do, I went to stand in front of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, smiling sillyly. The more I looked at him, the more friendly he became, and I felt happy.
And I also roughly understand why Old Monument King gave me the task of helping ghosts, and why Black and White Wuchang came to me.
Because Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva is the great teacher who educates and transforms the underworld, living beings in the underworld need to be saved by the mercy of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva if they want to escape suffering.
In my previous life, I was the protector of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva. For matters related to ghosts and the dead, I am the right person to deal with.
But when I write this, some people may still wonder, since you are a Buddhist protector, you should ask a monk for salvation. How can you do it in Taoism?
In fact, I want to say that everyone should not stick to Buddhism, nor should they reject Taoism because they think they are disciples of Buddhism, nor should they criticize Buddhism because they think they have entered Taoism.
In the process of the spread and development of any sect, there may be problems of one kind or another, but the attitude I always adhere to is:
Our true faith should be to believe in the spirit of Buddhist and Taoist classics and theories, and to open up the wisdom of life and understand the meaning of life, so that we can learn more about the laws of the universe and then understand the truth of the world.
Therefore, this is the true meaning of faith. Everyone must understand that the thoughts of Buddhism and Taoism are for the enlightenment of all living beings, not for all sentient beings to engage in feudal superstition. We should not abandon the original and pursue the weak.
There are also some people who always focus on the mistakes of the "sect" and scold them online every day, which is a bit unnecessary.
Because sects are founded by people, people will have problems like this. Therefore, many people use some of the wrong behaviors of sects to criticize Buddhism and Taoism. This is wrong.
For example, any law in the world strives to be fair and just, but during the implementation process, there will be many people who are unfair and unjust, but you cannot say that the law is wrong because of this.
If you don’t believe me, go and read Taishang’s Inspiration Chapter. It is the best book in ancient and modern times, and every word is exquisite.
Our ancestors have long written down the principles of life and work, but you don't believe it, and even if you believe it, you don't do it, but you just stare at those monks who made mistakes.
I want to say that a truly wise man should learn to understand the essence of Buddhist and Taoist theories and transform them into his own wisdom and energy.
Since ancient times, there have been many monks and monks in front of the hell gate, and there are too many monks who do not practice well. Gods will naturally punish them. We just need to cultivate ourselves and do not need to worry about others.
Also, the dissemination of any culture must go through a process of development and integration, and there will inevitably be some contradictions in the process. But what we should focus on should not be the contradictions themselves, but what kind of benefits this culture can bring to us. .
These words were not said by me, but by Uncle Ma. After listening to them, I was quite inspired. I felt that Uncle Ma was the person with the big picture and great wisdom.
Uncle Ma said that the pattern is rubbish. What this sentence actually means is: I trust anyone who is useful to me, but I don’t trust anyone who is useless!
I couldn't help but smile, I have to say that this point of view... is really in line with the belief theory of the Chinese people.
Unknowingly, I rambled so much again. In short, I spent the entire day feeling pretty happy. I felt happy when I thought that in my previous life, I was the Lord Jialan who was next to Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva.
But in the afternoon, last night's dream came true. Sure enough, a man in white came to me, but it was not a living person, but a ghost.
