After coming out of Xuanben, Qian Yunsheng plunged into the vast sea of scriptures in Leiyin Temple. After four or five days, he finally figured out the general classification of the entire Sutra Pavilion, and discussed with Wen Xinzhu:
"I didn't expect that we were wandering around during this period. Apart from the normal ordinary restrictions, we really didn't find any special restrictions. Do you have any ideas on how to act in the future?"
Wen Xinzhu muttered: "I carefully observed the details. These wooden frames are the most common ambergris wood frames. They are just not afraid of fire, water, insects and rats, and are quite strong."
"This formation is just the most normal defense, dustproof, light-shielding, and copying formation. It seems that everything is no different from other sects. This is really strange. It is hard to imagine that these scriptures are all so grand. Borrowed?"
"If that's the case, why are we trying so hard to sneak into the Sutra Pavilion?"
Qian Yunsheng shook his head and said: "Haven't you noticed that so many sects in the Ghost Sect have been wiped out, but except for some sporadic unimportant scrolls, we haven't found any other scrolls so far."
"Although the Sutra Pavilion is so big, we can still see very few in these days. But this situation also shows that this Sutra Pavilion is not normal. It seems that there is a mechanism that we don't understand. It’s working.”
Wen Xinzhu also agreed with Qian Yunsheng's judgment and came up with an idea: "Why don't you go ask Xuan Ben and let him give you some advice first, and then we'll see what we can find out?"
Qian Yunsheng didn't have a good idea at the moment, and it seemed that it might not be a good idea to just mess around on his own. So I simply followed Wen Xinzhu’s advice and found Xuan Bendao:
"In the past few days, the young monk has read many scriptures in the pavilion, and he has indeed gained some insights."
"In this seven-day debate, the young monk plans to investigate the theory of Buddha and ghosts. But I don't know the content. Where should I look for it?"

Xuanben thought for a while and said: "The scriptures in our Scripture Pavilion are all arranged in this way: the sky and the earth are dark and yellow, the universe is vast, the sun and the moon are waxing, and the stars are arranged in rows."
"Junior brother, for the scriptures you want, you can go to the twelfth branch of Xuanzi, the sixth branch of Huangzi, the seventh branch of Yuezi, and the second branch of Liezi to see if there is anything that junior brother needs."
Qian Yunsheng thanked him and came out, following Xuanben's suggestion, and searched for them one by one. He found that there was indeed a lot more relevant information, but it was still far from what he was really looking for.
He shook his head and quietly said to Wen Xinzhu: "This method still doesn't work. It seems that we are still going in the wrong direction, so we can't do it right.
Wen Xinzhu also realized this problem and whispered: "It seems that if you want to really know the clues about this matter, you have to calm down."
"Now that we are searching like this, we have gone a little too far. It may be bad in the eyes of interested people. I'm afraid you will have to keep a low profile first so that you don't stand out too much, and then we can slowly start to figure it out."
Qian Yunsheng understood in his heart that what Wen Xinzhu said was true. So I just pretended to pull out a scripture and really started to pay attention.
More than a month passed like this, and it was time for the seven-day Bible debate. On this day, Qian Yunsheng came to the Bible Debate Hall early and found that many monks had already arrived in the seats.
Among these monks were those with large white beards, as well as young and middle-aged monks like Qian Yunsheng, and even a few novice monks among them.
It seems that the Tibetan Scripture Pavilion really only asks about cultivation and speculation, regardless of age.
After Qian Yunsheng walked in, he clasped his hands and saluted all the monks present, and then sat down on his futon. After waiting for a while, Master Xuanben also floated over.
After seeing Xuan Ben, all the monks also saluted him. After Xuan Ben returned the gift, he came to his seat and sat down. After seeing that everyone had arrived, he nodded, knocked on the cloud board and said: "In that case, today's Bible Debate Conference will begin."
After finishing speaking, he pointed from a large urn in front of him, pulled out today's topic, and said loudly:
"The Debate between Buddha and Ghost!"
After reciting this topic, recite Amitabha Buddha together with the other monks. Xuan Ben put down the topic and turned his eyes towards Qian Yunsheng.
Qianyun's performance in the previous debates was mediocre, and he did not have any obvious performance. Xuan Ben knew that Qian Yunsheng had been looking for information about Buddha and ghosts recently, so he set his sights on him.
When Qian Yunsheng saw Xuanben looking at him, he stood up calmly, saluted the three monks in the middle who were going to participate in the debate on behalf of Leiyin Temple, and then asked loudly:
"What is Tao?"
"What is the Buddha's way, and what is the ghost's way?"
His first question related to the fundamentals of the Tao. The monks were all people with no problem in thinking, so their expressions were quite calm.
Immediately afterwards, Qian Yunsheng asked:
"My Buddhist family has six paths of reincarnation, and within the reincarnation is the path of hungry ghosts. Is this the path of hungry ghosts the path of ghosts?"
"If the way of hungry ghosts is the way of ghosts, then the way of ghosts is among the six ways. If so, then the way of ghosts is one of the six ways, so how can it not be the way of my Buddha?"
These words were already quite meaningful, and all the monks present began to show some thoughtful expressions.
Qian Yunsheng didn't pay much attention to the expressions of other monks, but continued to ask:
"If the way of hungry ghosts is not the way of ghosts, then the young monk has to ask, what is the way?"
After Qian Yunsheng asked this question, he sat down.
But his question is actually quite difficult to answer. It is equivalent to using his own thinking to extend the question of what is the Tao to the question of whether the way of ghosts and the way of Buddha are the same.
Finally, the example of the Tao of ghosts and Buddhas is used to advance the originally simple question of what is Tao to another level.
For a moment, the three monks representing Leiyin Temple who were debating scriptures fell into deep thought and could not answer immediately.
After a while, Amitabha, the oldest monk, said: "The poor monk felt that it was exactly what Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva once said: 'Unless hell is empty, I will never become a Buddha.'
"In this case, it can be seen that the path of hungry ghosts should not be the path of my Buddha. If a ghost in hell wants to become a Buddha, he must first escape from hell, and then he can become a Buddha."
After the old monk finished speaking, although he answered the first question, he felt that the path of hungry ghosts was not the path of Buddhism, but he did not answer Qian Yunsheng's question of what is the path.
So after the first old monk finished his answer, the second rather young monk stood up and replied: "The way of my Buddha is the way."
"As the saying goes, the words of the saint are followed by the law."
"All living beings only need to look up to my Buddha, worship and sing praises all the time, and they will attain enlightenment."
Although this second young monk answered the question of what is the Tao, he did not clearly explain the relationship between the Buddhist Tao and the ghost Tao.
In the end, the third monk looked more mature than the second monk. He stood up and thought slowly:
"The way of Buddha is different from the way of ghosts. The way of Buddha is the way of salvation, love and compassion."
"And the way of ghosts is the way of punishment, abandonment, destruction, and elimination."
"Therefore, the two paths must not be the same."
"But I, a Buddhist, have a heart of love and compassion. This love and compassion can shine through all things, and naturally it can also shine through into the ghost realm."
"In this way, we can naturally redeem some of the souls in the ghost path."
"This is why outsiders misunderstand that the way of ghosts is part of the way of Buddha."
Although his answer was a bit deeper than the previous two, it only briefly discussed how Buddhism and ghosts interact, and he still did not sort out the entire issue of Buddhism and ghosts.
Obviously Xuan Ben was not satisfied with the answers of these three people and nodded approvingly towards Qian Yunsheng. It seemed that he quite recognized the question raised by Qian Yunsheng.
Then, he said seriously: "Do you have anything else to add?"
The monks sitting in other seats expressed their opinions one after another, and then Xuanben asked Qian Yunsheng to refute and debate them one by one.
At the end of the debate, as Qian Yunsheng refuted everyone's opinions one by one and raised more questions and thoughts, the whole scene became quiet for a while.
Xuan Ben saw that the monks who were debating this time were a little overwhelmed by Qian Yunsheng's question. He shook his head and said, "You should study this issue seriously when you go back. We will debate again in seven days."
After saying that, he knocked on the cloud board again to indicate that the debate was over, and then left quietly.
Seeing that today's scripture debate was over, Qian Yunsheng stood up and wanted to continue reading the scriptures in the scripture collection pavilion.
Unexpectedly, just as he stood up, the third monk, who was the most calm among the three monks who were going to participate in the debate, took the initiative to come over and salute: "Amitabha, Master Dharma is here. I'm here to pay my respects to the young monk Huixin."
When Qian Yunsheng saw the monk Huixin coming over to salute him, he quickly returned the salute to Amitabha Buddha.
Hui Xin said politely:
"Today, the young monk discovered that Uncle Faru is a master of Buddhism. I am really scared because I was unable to pay him a visit as soon as possible. I wonder if Uncle Faru has been free recently? The young monk would like to ask Uncle Faru for advice."
Qian Yunsheng was a little worried about the secret of the Sutra Pavilion that could not be revealed, and deliberately evaded: "These days, the poor monk has been doing homework in the Sutra Pavilion. If my nephew is looking for him, he can come to the Sutra Pavilion to find the poor monk at any time. that is."
When Huixin heard that Qian Yunsheng had been in the Sutra Pavilion, she immediately said happily:
"That's convenient. It just so happens that the young monk is also the deacon of the Sutra Pavilion. After the young monk is on duty, he will immediately come to see my uncle. I wonder which column he often reads in recently?"
When Qian Yunsheng heard that Huixin was the deacon of the Buddhist Scripture Pavilion, he thought to himself that it seemed that he couldn't get anything out of Xuan Ben. Maybe he could get something out of the little deacon, so he said happily :
"It's easy to talk about. Whenever my nephew is free, he can come to the poor monk at any time. The poor monk usually reads in the yellow and Zhou columns."
After saying that, he took the initiative to exchange token imprints with Huixin, and then the two parties made an appointment for the next time to meet, and then parted ways.
