The literal translation of Zi said is Confucius said. How can there be any connotation or profound meaning in it? The examiner said no, but yes!
For example, the teacher asked Mr. Lu Xun what he meant when he said good night. The word "Wate" indicates the time and is reminiscent of the dark sky, symbolizing the darkness of society at that time. The word An represents the insensitivity of the common people.
But this is not a problem for the candidates. Some people used Su Shi's words to solve the problem: "One man can be a teacher for hundreds of generations, and one word can be a law for the world."
An ordinary person can be a teacher for hundreds of generations, and his corresponding name is 'zi'; a single word can be the law of the world, and his corresponding word is 'yue'.

In the Southern Song Dynasty, Zhen Dexiu, another fellow from Pucheng in Zhangyue, wrote "Extensions of the University". This book is the study of emperors and must be read by the princes of the Ming and Qing Dynasties since they were young.
This is another angle to interpret when scholars read "The University".
