It's not peaceful for Wuqiu Temple recently.
Everyone knows that there are several eminent disciples of the abbot in the temple, and the most famous one among them is the leader of the four directions. Although there are four people who are the leader of the four directions, there are some who have high or low cultivation levels and the depth of Buddhism. However, after so many years, no one has been able to achieve success. The four people on their right are, firstly, profound in Buddhism, and secondly, highly skilled in cultivation. Therefore, regardless of whether they have lived in seclusion in Buqiu Temple for many years, these four sermon leaders and the abbot of Buqiu Temple have all sat firmly together. There was never any sign of wavering in the temple. However, this stable situation only lasted until the youngest person among the four leaders went to the Zhongtai Ancient Temple, but he left empty-handed and returned empty-handed. He did not ask for help in the temple. There were always discussions, and most of them were the talkers. It is said that the old abbot of Zhongtai Ancient Temple was a frivolous and uninhibited master when he was young. He got to know practitioners and people in the world, and maybe he even turned into a bandit on the basis of his secular status. Such behavior is inconsistent with what can be called deviant. The experience of how to take charge of a large temple has attracted more and more people to talk about.
A few words of gossip are enough to stir up trouble, and like a wildfire, it cannot be eliminated no matter how hard it is, even though the abbot walked out of his ascetic practice and scolded the monks not to follow the path, let alone talk behind their backs about things that are not wrong in the first place. Zen Master Fu Kong and Qiu Temple will eventually lose their peace and tranquility.
After Zhe Shizuo returned from the Zhongtai Ancient Temple, he rarely stepped out of the house. No one knew what happened to the youngest of the four Zheshi when he went to the Zhongtai Ancient Temple. It was also impossible to know. Why, despite the world-famous cultivation, still could not get the legendary Zen Master Fu Kong to hand over the most precious Buddhist treasure? This will certainly arouse a lot of doubts. Although the abbot and abbot were probably afraid that this proud disciple would receive unwarranted criticism and excessive suspicion, he ordered him not to leave the house, but to practice hard for a year to stabilize his mind before appearing in front of the people in the temple. However, more than a year has passed, and the scattered words in the temple have never been eradicated. Even the other three lecturers also intend to protect their junior brother, but unfortunately it is still difficult to cure the root cause.
People often need a very clever rhetoric to temporarily put aside their resentment. Although this rhetoric may not really solve all kinds of worries and questions, it can be said to be a good medicine. It can fool an ape at all times, and it can fool people who are good at dancing. To become an ordinary person, even monks are no exception.
Therefore, between coming and going, there is no time in the mountains, and even if you don’t ask for a temple, it is already closed by heavy snow.
When Zhe Shi, who was still wearing the thin old monk robes from spring, walked out, the first thing he did was not to see the abbot of Buqiu Temple, nor to meet the three senior brothers who had protected him for more than a year, nor to go. Going to the place where the monks gathered, he told Zen Master Fu Kong what he had seen and heard on the way to the Zhongtai Ancient Temple in order to wash away the long-standing discussions. Instead, he walked barefoot to the door of Buqiu Temple and touched his lips. The mustache that had grown out on his chin laughed to himself, and then strode outside the Buqiu Temple. He looked at the little monk who was struggling to clear the snow outside the temple. The heat was rising on the latter's bare forehead. Sweeping snow from the front door of such a big temple was of course a laborious task. Zhe Shi had seen this young monk many times. Whenever it snowed, the latter would be busy outside for almost the whole day. After the hot air has been blown by the cold wind, it will probably be covered with a thin layer of ice. It is hard work, but I still enjoy it. Although sometimes when heavy snow comes, the sweeping may not be as fast as the snow falls, but the little monk still keeps sweeping. Whenever someone comes up to talk, He always smiles and wipes the thin ice hanging from the corners of his eyes, and talks to others in a polite manner.
For some reason, when Zhe Shi saw this young monk, he suddenly had the idea of not knowing where he was, just like when he saw the young novice named Pingchen in the ancient Zhongtai Temple.
"It's hard to do this. There's no need to sweep the snow when the sky is like this. After all, the snow cannot be swept as fast as it falls. It's only two or three hundred steps below the steps. It's estimated that the hundreds of steps above will be covered with snow, so why bother wasting all your efforts?" "When the young monk turned his head away, the first person holding the bamboo broom in his hand was already there, and he began to sweep the snow like a young monk, but strange to say, it was clearly a long-term occupation of sweeping snow. In this world, when sweeping the snow, he is actually more efficient than the young monk. The snow dust is often scattered with the broom, which is three times faster than Fa Nan who has been sweeping the snow for many years.
Fa Nan, who finally came back to his senses, had not seen an eminent monk from the temple come for a long time, let alone the head of the lecture hall. Although Zhe Shi had often met and chatted with the young monk a year ago, he was still young and a little unfamiliar. , hurriedly said, "You don't want to be the lecturer in the temple, so it's best to leave this small job of clearing snow to me."
"What a little monk like you can do, but you can't do it when you're the first to give lectures?"
Zhe Shicheng wanted to tease the young monk, so he stopped what he was doing, looked at the latter with a smile, spread his hands and waited for the young monk's answer.
"I am satisfied if I can clear the snow in front of the Buddha's door. If he is not well cultivated and stupid, he cannot read and memorize many Buddhist scriptures, he always wants to do some good deeds for the Buddha and Buqiu Temple. I am already satisfied, so whenever I am clearing snow, not only do I not feel too cold outside, but I feel much more at ease inside, so I forget about the cold and tiredness."
Only then did Zhe Shi remember that Fa Nan, who had no common name, was brought back by the abbot from the mountain one day many years ago. He heard that there was a famine thousands of miles away, and the infant Fa Nan's parents were starving. Before he died, I saw the abbot giving away rice porridge with the little incense money left. Knowing that he could not last for two days, he placed the unnamed Dharma in the abbot's arms and said that it would be enough to save his life. The Buddha performed good deeds and then disappeared into the crowd.
Over the years, Fa Nan's face has grown a lot, and he is often happy. However, few people ask why this little monk, who has no father or mother and has been ordained since childhood, is so happy.
"Then why are you contented? And why do you always have your heart towards Buddhism?" Zheshi put away his smile this time and sat down cross-legged instead. Then he also motioned to Fa Nan in front of him to sit down. He thought of something again and turned away from the monk outside. The robe was draped over the monk's body, leaving him with only the monk's clothes. Then he asked the monk to sit down as well, shaking his head to indicate that it was okay. They sat opposite each other, and they really looked like they were talking about Taoism.
Fa Nan scratched his head, struggled to open his eyes in the snow, and smiled shyly at Zhe Shi, "If it weren't for the Buddha to teach the Dharma, there probably wouldn't be more good people like the abbot and the first senior brother who would be willing to save others from suffering. Probably there is no reason why this temple can accommodate many monks, so I am grateful first. Even if the abbot saved me, it still has something to do with the Buddhist characters, so I am somewhat grateful inside."
"Furthermore, even though I am not a good student of Dharma, I still know a lot of Buddhism. Everything I hear makes sense and I feel happy. No matter what others say, I firmly believe that what I have said is bliss and that there really is the Buddhist kingdom that is rumored." , so I feel that it is a very good thing to be able to guard the Buddha's residence on earth. As for a better thing, I probably have to wait until I get older and learn more Buddhist Dharma before I can do it better. I can only do such trivial things to keep the mountain gate clean and tidy."
The Dharma is very simple and easy to understand. Everyone who hears it probably smiles and feels that the young monk in front of him is very close to Buddha. Although he is not a talented and intelligent child like Bo Wenqiang, he is simple and kind-hearted. It can stop here. But when Zhe Shi heard it, he felt his heart tremble for no reason. It took him a long time to steady his eyes and look at the tribulation in front of him again. His eyes no longer contained all the complicated meanings when an older person looks at a younger person. .
"Then what you are praying for is for the Buddha to have mercy on all living beings and protect the world from disasters, or for you to find your own relatives, or for you to become a good person like the abbot in the future, or something else?"
It was obvious that Fa Nan had never thought about these questions beforehand, so he scratched his head and thought hard for a long time before he raised his face and spread his hands like Zhe Shi did not long ago, "Brother Zhe Shi, you have to ask for something and get something. Can you eat fast, chant Buddha's name, and follow temple rules only if you have jumped out of the three realms and five elements in reincarnation?"
One stone makes waves.
Zhe Shi couldn't remember how many temples he had encountered all the way back and forth to the Zhongtai Ancient Temple, nor how many temples there were in which incense was flourishing. It was just because a wealthy person came to ask for a child that he had experienced miraculous effects, and he never remembered hearing about it. How many times have I knelt in front of the futon and prayed for peace, and the men and women murmuring for harmony in the family. I just felt that entering the world this time seemed to be very tiring. Instead of feeling that my heart became clearer and brighter, I felt that my chest became more and more depressed.
So it turns out that it’s not just when you have something to ask for, you remember the gods and Buddha’s blessings and manifest your wishes. It turns out that you don’t believe it because you heard about the supernatural power that can help people jump out of the three realms and avoid the suffering of reincarnation. It turns out that you are willing to enter Buddhism because you believe it. , practice hard for the people of the world, be kind to others, do more good deeds, follow the footsteps of the Buddha in the book, who seems to be an ordinary person who is just a fabrication, to cultivate people and cultivate their hearts.
It turns out that it was not because I accepted the power of worldly vows for the Buddha and practiced slowly, and then when my skills were sufficient, I went to other temples that were also Buddhist pure places to ask for Buddhist treasures. I felt that my own temple was the one that could speak on behalf of Buddhism. The largest temple, unique in the world, dominates and brings blessings. It is larger and has more Buddhists, so it can use its power to oppress others.
For example, if Zen Master Fu Kong realizes that he does not possess the Seven Wonders of Buddhism, he will come here of his own accord. However, going to the door to ask for it, and waiting for others to come to the door, although it is possible to reach the same destination by different routes, are definitely not the same thing.
If you don't ask the monks in the temple, you may not ask for much, but since you think this is reasonable, you already want something.
In the wind and snow, there were already three leaders standing outside the temple door. They all frowned slightly and looked at Zhe Shi, who was sitting alone on the steps of Buqiu Temple. The latter's clothes were obviously blown left and right by the strong wind, but his figure became stronger. , seems like a stubborn rock standing there.
Junior brother is still the same junior brother, but no matter how you look at it, it seems to be different from usual.
