On November 8, Ying Hong, the minister of Zhongshu, returned to Nandun, Runan, to worship his ancestors. In the evening, he explained his intention to his fifth uncle, Ying Xu.
Ying Xu was silent when he learned that his nephew came for the art of forging weapons. Ying Hong said slowly: "Since the death of my grandfather, the Ying family has become worse than before, and the family is in danger of being demoted. Years ago, I proposed marriage to the Sun family in Taiyuan on behalf of Jing'er, but was declined." Ying Xu frowned and asked: "But the Sun Kang family of Yingxue?" Ying Hong nodded and said, "Sun Kang has a clear name. He was favored by King Langya and recruited as a counselor of the Grand Sima Mansion. There are rumors in the capital that Yuzhang County Duke has invited him to Jingkou several times. He took office and was retained by King Langya." Ying Xu stroked his beard and said nothing, Ying Hong did not urge him and drank tea silently.
After finishing the cup of tea, Ying Xu finally said: "Chief Yang has taught the Ying family the art of forging soldiers. If it is offered to the imperial court, it will be difficult for the Ying family to settle down in Nanton. Nephew Hong, you must think carefully." Ying Hong He said coldly: "My nephew is not only impressed by the post of minister promised by King Wuling. The one who really wants to forge military skills is Duke Yuzhang." Ying Xu had a stern expression. Duke Yuzhang, Governor Xu Qing, Che The cavalry general Liu Yuquan was favored by both the government and the public. Some people secretly rumored that Liu Yu was another Cao Cao, and sooner or later he would replace Jin.
However, Ying Xu witnessed the rise of Yang Anxuan in Nanton. Compared with Liu Yu who was far away in Jingkou, Ying Xu believed that Yang Anxuan would have the last laugh.
Telling his nephew Ying Hong his opinion, Ying Xu said: "Yang Anxuan actually controls the territory of the four states and has more than 100,000 soldiers under his command. Qin and Wei also returned in defeat. They are only stronger than Liu Yu. The great battle will begin. In this world, choosing the Ming Dynasty will prevent the family from falling into disgrace." Ying Hong smiled and said: "My uncle is far away in Nandun and does not know Liu Yuzhang's power. Defeat, Liu Yuzhang's bravery is rare in the world. My nephew heard that when he was conquering Sun En, he chased thousands of rebel troops alone. He was inhumane." Seeing that Ying Hong had made up his mind, Ying Xu sighed: "I am old and have no strength left. Take care of clan affairs. Since you, nephew, have returned to your hometown, hold a clan gathering to elect a new clan leader. I want to take care of my uncle." Ying Hong persuaded a few words. Seeing that Ying Xu had made up his mind, he followed the flow and said, "Uncle If you want to take a break, how about temporarily letting Brother Shu Lin from the third room take over the position of patriarch?" Ying Shulin is the eldest son of Ying Chen, the third son of Ying Dynasty. He once served as the captain of Yang'an County and the magistrate of Biyang County. When my mother came home from the funeral and my father died, I just stayed at home and studied in peace.
When Ying Xu saw that Ying Hong had made arrangements, he became more and more frustrated and said, "You are the eldest grandson. You can make your own decisions about the affairs of the clan." After Ying Hong left, Ying Xu's eldest son Ying Ye entered the house and saw his father leaning on him with a heavy face. On the couch, he asked: "My lord, what did Brother Hong say to you? Why does my lord look unhappy?" Ying Xu sighed softly: "Ying Hong wants to dedicate his weapon forging skills to the court in exchange for the position of minister." Ye's expression changed and he said, "How can Governor Yang agree? Has father persuaded Brother Hong?" Ying Xu shook his head and said, "Ying Hong has made up his mind. My father can't persuade him, so I have to resign from the position of clan leader and let him go." He chose someone else, and he has decided to let Ying Kun take over as the clan leader."
"Brother Kun," Yingye exclaimed, "Brother Kun is greedy and despicable. If he becomes the clan leader, the Ying family will be in chaos." Ying Xu sneered, "Ying Kun will naturally obey orders when he becomes the clan leader. Ying Hong wanted to get the art of forging soldiers and return to Jiankang to be his minister. As for the Nandun Ying family, he probably didn't take it to heart. It's just that Ying Hong wanted to take the craftsmen from Xiping, but I'm afraid it wouldn't be that easy." The Zhou family After the iron smelting shop was sold to the Ying family, there was only the Ying family iron industry in the entire Tangxi. In order to protect the steel pouring and quenching methods, Yang Anxuan strictly ordered the craftsmen not to have contact with the outside world, and ordered Yindun to send five hundred county troops to garrison Tangxi. Guards all around.
Qin, Wei and other countries sent out craftsmen and tried countless methods but could not get into the iron mines. They could only buy some refined iron from Xiping.
On November 18, at the Ying family ancestral hall, under the auspices of Ying Hong, the clan members elected Ying Kun as the new clan leader.
The Ying clan has forty-three houses and 389 people, including young and old, and there are nearly a thousand tenants and tribes dependent on the Ying family.
Ying Xu handed over the prepared account books to Ying Kun. After a brief check, Ying Kun said with a smile: "Fifth Uncle, the accounts are correct. If my nephew has anything unclear, please come back to Fifth Uncle for advice." Ying Hong took the lottery. Looking through the account books of the porcelain business, he said: "Colored porcelain is worth more than gold in Beijing, and is 50% more expensive than celadon. How come the Ying family doesn't even get 10% of it?" Ying Xu didn't bother to pay attention to him. If Governor Yang is killed, even the Seven Points will fly away.
Ying Kun smiled and said softly: "This colored porcelain business was provided by Governor Yang. He monopolized 20% of it. Yanshi Pei and Qi also took 20% of the production. The Ying family, Xinxi's Qi family, and Xinjia's Yin, Deng, Cen, and the Hu family in Panlong Mountain together only share 40%. Although it is a little less, judging from the accounts, there are still one hundred taels of gold a year, which is very good." Ying Hong came to his senses and said with a smile: "Fifth Uncle No wonder, my nephew means why this profitable business is not more productive. You must know that Beijing colored porcelain is expensive but not marketable. Even Prince Wuling's palace only has two sets of tea sets. He usually treats them as treasures and does not despise people. If It would be very honorable to find a way to get a few sets and bring them to Beijing to give away." Ying Xu ignored it and stood up and said: "Since the accounts are correct, I will go back first. If the accounts are not correct, you can come to the house to look for fools." Ying Hong He Yingkun stood up to see him off, and when Ying Xu left, Ying Kun smiled and said, "The fifth uncle is a little reluctant to leave, haha." Ying Hong asked, "Have you sent someone to invite Uncle Hao?" Ying Kun responded: "Uncle Hao is having a drink with someone in the ancestral hall, so I will send someone to invite him." After half a stick of incense, Ying Hao came to the hall smelling of alcohol. Ying Hong frowned slightly, leaned forward and said, "Uncle Hao, I'd like to invite you." You come here to discuss something." Ying Kun diligently helped Ying Hao, who was walking a little unsteadily, to sit down on the banquet, and said with a smile: "Uncle Sixteen, my nephew has just become the leader of the clan, and he needs a lot of help from the elders in the clan. " Ying Hao burped from wine and said, "Easy to say, easy to say. I wonder what's the point of looking for a fool?" In fact, Ying Hao already knew the purpose of the two people looking for him. Like Ying Xu, Ying Hao was also optimistic about Yang Anxuan. If nothing else, This seventh-grade work officer was awarded to him by Governor Yang.
Now when I go to Xiping County, the county magistrate should be polite to me. Ying Kun sat down next to Ying Hao, took the tea cup from the maid's hand and offered it to him, saying: "Sixteenth Uncle, in addition to offering sacrifices and sweeps, Ninth Brother has also been ordered by King Wuling to ask for forged soldiers. The art of forging soldiers. The sixteenth uncle managed the mining industry for the family in Tangxi, so I think he knew the art of forging soldiers very well." Ying Hao took a sip of tea and said: "The art of forging soldiers was taught by Governor Yang. He said it at the beginning. It is very clear that rumors about the Ying family are not allowed." Ying Hong twisted his beard and smiled and said: "Uncle Sixteen, the art of forging soldiers is beneficial to the country, and King Wuling promised not to waste the reward. Uncle Sixteen is now a work officer, so he can accompany his nephew. After entering the capital, the imperial court will appoint Uncle Sixteen to take charge of forging the army. It should not be difficult for a fifth-grade young craftsman, and maybe there will be a chance to become a great craftsman in the future." Ying Hao's hand holding the tea trembled slightly, and he will be a great craftsman. It is the position of a lieutenant, and the rank is higher than that of a governor. If there is a chance to become a general master, it is worth taking the risk.
Ying Hong saw that Ying Hao was moved and continued: "To be honest with Uncle Sixteen, King Wuling's request for the art of forging soldiers was actually entrusted by Duke Liu, the governor of Xu Qing. If Uncle Sixteen can offer this skill, he will definitely be valued by Duke Liu. It's easy to be promoted to an official position." Ying Kun said enviously: "Uncle Sixteen, don't miss this good opportunity." Ying Hao placed the teacup in his hand heavily on the table and said, "Chief Yang has great control over the art of forging soldiers. It's very strict. Even a fool can't enter the quenching place. He only vaguely knows the inside story from the craftsmen." Ying Hong said: "It would be best if we can bring the craftsmen to the capital together." Ying Hao shook his head and said: "Prefect Yang A village was built in the mining area, and the craftsmen and their families all live in the village. The Yin Governor sent five hundred county soldiers to guard the village, and special personnel were required to transport daily necessities. There was no way to go out, and no outsiders could come in."
"Uncle Sixteen is in charge of the craftsmen, is there anything you can do?" Ying Kun asked helpfully. Ying Hao frowned in thought and murmured to himself: "The guards of the county army are not under the control of Yu. In recent years, some Qin, Wei and other families have tried to steal forged iron from Tangxi, but no one has succeeded. Yu heard that Yang Jishi set There are secret guards protecting the mining area secretly." Ying Hong asked: "Uncle Sixteen, if you were asked to organize manpower to forge troops, could you do the same as in the Tangxi mining area?" Ying Hao scratched his head and said, "The method is roughly clear. , but Yu has never tried it, and I don’t know if it can be the same." Ying Hong asked again: "I heard that many blacksmiths in the mining industry are tenants of the Ying family, and there are even members of the Ying family. I wonder if anyone is with Uncle Sixteen. Come?"
"There are two of them, Ying Zhi from the seventh house and the son-in-law of Bage's family. Ying Zhi is the steward of the forging house and is very familiar with the steel filling operation. Bage's son-in-law is named Ma. He is a foreman and has forged iron." Ying Hong said immediately. "It's OK if someone understands it. If you don't know it, you can teach me. Uncle Sixteen will discuss it with the family, and we will set off back to Jiankang in two days." Ying Kun also wanted to take advantage of Ying Hong to visit various properties to avoid others being dissatisfied, and said hurriedly "Why are you in such a hurry? Didn't the court allow three months' leave?" Ying Hong said: "Yang Anxuan attaches so much importance to the art of forging weapons. If Uncle Sixteen does not return to Tangxi, I am afraid he will be discovered soon. Take advantage of this. Xiangyang is preparing to hold a sutra transmission ceremony, and Yang Anxuan has no time to take care of Tangxi. Let's leave quickly. If we are intercepted, we won't be able to leave." Ying Kun grimaced, and Ying Hong could just leave and wait for Governor Yang to find out and come. Questioning, how should I, the new patriarch of the Ying family, deal with this?
.........In Xiangyang, since December, there have been more monks on the market with bald heads, black clothes and monk shoes, chanting scriptures and holding alms bowls in their hands.
The Xi family and the Liu family held fasting meetings one after another and invited eminent monks to preach Buddhist scriptures. Hundreds of monks attended the meetings.
Good men and women invited monks to pray for blessings and eliminate disasters, and the sound of chanting Buddha's name could be heard in Xiangyang City. Since December, the governor Yang Anxuan has been busy receiving the eminent monks who came to attend the Dharma assembly. Master Huiyuan of Donglin Temple sent his disciple Fa Jing to come to welcome the Buddhist scriptures; the Wa Coffin Temple was visited by monk Huineng, an acquaintance of the governor Yang, and the Daochang Temple in central Beijing, After hearing the news, Huangtai Temple, Jianjing Temple and other Buddhist temples sent people to come.
Master Kumarajiva from Chang'an, Qin Dynasty sent his disciples Daosheng and Seng Zhao to come with the "Maha Prajna Paramita Great Ming Mantra Sutra" to argue with each other. Master Wei Shamentong Faguo sent his disciple Dao Ming to come with twenty monks.
Xi Pifeng decided to hold the ceremony at Baima Temple on the grounds of preparing for the ceremony. However, too many monks came and Baima Temple could no longer accommodate them. Yang Anxuan relocated some monks to Tanxi Temple.
Tanxi Temple is the first of all the temples in Xiangyang. It was built by Master Dao'an. In addition to the treasure hall, there are also five-story pagodas and 400 monks' houses. Former Liangzhou governor Yang Hongzhong donated ten thousand kilograms of copper and cast a six-foot-long Buddha statue. .
After Fu Jian occupied Xiangyang, he donated gold foil Buddha statues, gold seated statues, beaded Maitreya statues, gold embroidered statues and other objects to the temple.
On the day when the Buddha became enlightened, temples such as Baima Temple and Tanxi Temple were crowded with believers and people coming to receive Laba porridge.
In Tanxi Temple, smoke is lingering, Sanskrit singing is accompanied by the sound of wooden fish, which is melodious and beautiful. Yang Anxuan and the government officials followed the monks and knelt down to worship the Buddha. His six-foot-long golden body looked down at the world with solemn mercy.
After eating Laba porridge, Yang Anxuan invited the eminent monks to the front of the Buddhist hall and placed the copied scriptures in front of the incense table.
After careful consideration, Yang Anxuan felt that it was inappropriate to directly exchange the scriptures for money and food, so he changed his approach.
"Dear masters," Yang Anxuan pointed to the Buddhist scriptures placed on the incense table and said, "This is the "Prajna Paramita Heart Sutra" taught by the Buddha in a foolish dream." The sound of reciting the Buddha was heard everywhere, and the monks turned their hot gazes on it. The Buddhist scriptures are not really taught by the Buddha, but the sentences in the first two paragraphs of the Buddhist scriptures are indeed thought-provoking.
Master Daosheng Heshi said: "Donor Yang, the poor monk read the first paragraph of the Prajnaparamita Heart Sutra, which is very similar to the Mahaprajnaparamita Great Ming Mantra Sutra translated by my teacher. I don't know whether the sutra of Donor Yang comes from the Great Ming Sutra. "Prajna Sutra"?" Yang Anxuan pretended to be confused and said: "Master, I don't know where this sutra comes from. It was just dictated by the Buddha in a dream. I recorded it based on what the Buddha said. I plan to give the sutra to you today. Master, you can tell at a glance whether they are the same." I heard that Yang Anxuan wanted to give the scriptures to everyone,
"Amitabha",
"Good, good, good" echoed in the air. When the monks calmed down, Yang Anxuan said again: "The Buddha preached the Dharma in his dream and did not teach it lightly, so I foolishly thought that after receiving the scriptures, I would ask the eminent monks to read and explain it to the people in Xiangyang for five days, and the people would donate money and food as the proceeds from teaching the Dharma. I swore to the Buddha that the money and food I received were taken from the people and used by the people, and I would never dare to use them in the slightest." Master Huineng recited the Buddha's name and said: "Donor Yang is a lay disciple of Master Huiyuan. I, a poor monk, can trust you. Please also ask Yang The benefactor sent the scriptures to us earlier, and the poor monk has long wanted to read them." The scriptures were copied in dozens of volumes, and each major temple received a copy. Daosheng took the scriptures and looked at them carefully. Sure enough, they were consistent with the "Maha" The Great Ming Mantra Sutra of Prajna Paramita is very similar, and it is obviously a section of the Great Prajna Sutra, but the translation is different.
Just as he was about to speak, Master Seng Zhao next to him said: "Brother, this sutra is easier to understand than the "Maha Prajna Paramita Great Ming Mantra Sutra" translated by the master. Since it is to promote Buddhism, why bother to compete." Daosheng He folded his hands and said: "Junior brother taught me that the poor monk is obsessed with appearance." Yang Anxuan ordered people to set up more than ten Dharma platforms in Xiangyang City and invited eminent monks to come on stage to preach. The "Prajna Paramita Heart Sutra" soon spread through the mouths. .
The noble families donated money one after another. The Liu family donated 500 dan of corn, the Xi family donated 100,000 dan, and even the Pang family donated 200 dan of corn.
Ordinary people give you three coins and I fight rice, and a little adds up to a lot. The scribes who register the donations in front of the Dharma altar have sore hands.
Many merchants did not rush back after participating in the trade fair, but stayed in Xiangyang to participate in the Dharma Conference and donated generously.
Master Wei Daoming donated a hundred gold to the Emperor of Wei, Master Qin Daosheng donated 60 gold to the Emperor of Qin, Donglin Temple donated 20 taels of gold, and Wa Coffin Temple donated 20 gold. All temples, large and small, made a donation, and the Buddhist temples donated a total of Three hundred and sixteen taels.
The eminent monks chanted sutras and collected more than 87,000 stones of corn and 3.46 million in money. The results far exceeded Yang Anxuan's imagination.
