Yang Anxuan returned to his study. He was inspired by Kong Xian and planned to raise the money he needed through Buddhism.
In his previous life, he memorized the Prajnaparamita Heart Sutra. The Heart Sutra is a section of the Great Prajna Sutra. It is considered by later generations to be the canon of sutras and the first of all dharma. It has become a household name since its inception. People who can recite it fluently Countless.
Yang Anxuan remembers that there are many Chinese translations of the Heart Sutra, the most famous of which are the Maha Prajna Paramita Heart Sutra translated by Kumarajiva and the Prajna Paramita Heart Sutra translated by Tang Xuanzang.
The translations of the two versions are similar, but the Prajnaparamita Heart Sutra is more widely circulated. Yang Anxuan personally feels that the translation of the Heart Sutra is simpler, easier to read, and more sophisticated than the Ming Dynasty Mantra Sutra.
Kumarajiva translated sutras in Chang'an Xiaoyao Garden, but the "Great Prajna Sutra" he translated has not yet spread, and the "Maha Prajna Paramita Sutra" is not known to the world. Yang Anxuan plans to use the "Prajna Paramita Heart Sutra" 》Come and hold a grand gathering of Buddhism to spread sutras and give away treasures.
"...Color is not different from emptiness, emptiness is not different from color, color is emptiness, emptiness is color..." Yang Anxuan copied the two hundred and sixty-six verses of scriptures on paper, calmly, and painted them one stroke at a time, abandoning all impetuousness.
After Kong Miao coaxed the child to sleep, he came to the study. He picked up the text written by Yang Anxuan and took a look at it. He was surprised and said: "Xuanlang, when did you become proficient in Buddhist scriptures? What kind of scripture is this? It is exquisite to read and eloquent. Thought provoking.”
After Yang Anxuan finished writing the last sentence, he put down his pen and looked at it. His handwriting was much better than before. It seemed that he had made some progress in copying the calligraphy and painting he got from Huan Xuan in his spare time.
"This scripture was taught by the Buddha in Yu's dream," Yang Anxuan said without changing his expression: "When I was in Luoyang, I dreamed of the Buddha teaching the scriptures. I forgot about it when I woke up. Today, I was reminded by my uncle, and the scriptures suddenly appeared in my mind. Copied here."
Kong Miao put the scripture back on the desk, clasped his hands and recited the name Buddha, saying: "This is the Buddha blessing Xuan Lang. I will wait for you to place an incense stick in front of the Buddha."
Yuan believed in Buddhism and had a Buddhist hall at home. Kong Miao occasionally accompanied Yuan on his knees and offered incense.
Yang Anxuan said with a smile: "This is the Prajna Paramita Heart Sutra. It was taught by the Buddha in a dream. I asked Yu to spread it to the world. Yu plans to recruit eminent monks from all over the world and hold a sutra teaching event in Xiangyang."
Kong Miao frowned slightly and said, "It is very good to hold a sutra preaching ceremony, which can increase Xuanlang's reputation. But inviting so many eminent monks to come will cost a lot of money and food. Xuanlang is already worried about money and food, so it is better to wait until next year. Say it again."
Yang Anxuan laughed and said: "There are many Buddhists in the world. The money and food for holding the ceremony will be donated by the believers. Yu also plans to exchange some money and food through the ceremony."
Kong Miao said worriedly: "Xuanlang, you must not have this thought, for fear that the Buddha will blame you."
Yang Anxuan said: "The Sutra should not be passed down lightly. In the west, there is the country of Savatthi, and the whole country believes in Buddhism. The Buddha sent monks to chant the sutra, and only got three buckets and three liters of broken gold. The Buddha said that he sold it so cheaply that future generations have no money to use. "
Kong Miao was doubtful and said, "Xuanlang, are you telling the truth?"
Yang Anxuan thought, this is a rumor in "Journey to the West". Who knows whether it is true or not, but there is a record in the Gubu Golden Temple, so he told the story of the lonely elder of Savatthi State who covered the Gion with gold and invited the Buddha to come and preach. Tell it to Kong Miao.
Kong Miao smacked his tongue repeatedly and said, "If the whole garden is covered with gold, how much gold will it cost?"
Yang Anxuan smiled and said, "So don't worry about money and food. The believers will provide the money and food."
Yang Anxuan was busy in the study until late at night, and wrote letters to his master Huiyuan, Master Huineng of Waqiao Temple, Master Zhimiaoyin of Jianjing Temple, Master Kumarajiva of Chang'an, and Master Faguo of Shamentong of the Northern Wei Dynasty. The first two paragraphs of the "Heart Sutra" claim to have been taught by the Buddha in a dream, and he invited eminent monks to come to Xiangyang to hold a sutra-preaching ceremony.
The time is set on the eighth day of December - the day when Buddha became enlightened, which is also the "Laba Festival" (1). On this day, the temple will hold a Buddha Bathing Ceremony, in which whole grains, dates, almonds, walnuts, chestnuts, and peanuts are cooked slowly over low heat and then given to disciples and believers.
As for the place where the scriptures were preached, Yang Anxuan chose Baima Temple. This temple was where Master Daoan lived when he went south to spread Buddhism. At that time, there were constant wars and bandits in Yedu. Master Dao'an was invited by Xi Chizhi to come to Xiangyang, accompanied by more than 400 people, including Master Huiyuan.
In the early years of the Eastern Han Dynasty, Xi Yu, the ancestor of the Xi family, built a dike and a pond in front of his house. Xi Chi built the White Horse Temple beside the Xi family pond to worship Master Dao'an. Master Daoan lived in Xiangyang for fifteen years and founded Tanxi Temple. .
Later, Fu Jian led his army south to attack Xiangyang. In order to prevent his disciples from suffering the disaster of war, Master Dao'an sent his disciples to spread out to preach in various places. Master Huiyuan led dozens of disciples to go south and stationed in Xi in Mount Lu. With the support of Huan Yi, the governor of Jiangzhou at that time, , built Donglin Temple to preach.
Fu Jian's army conquered Xiangyang and took Master Dao'an to the Wuchong Temple in Chang'an. Fu Jian treated Master Dao'an very politely and allowed him to preside over the Taoist temple and translate scriptures.
Since the Han Dynasty, Buddhism has been divided into Zen and Prajna. Master Daoan paid more attention to Prajna. He also lived in Xiangyang for fifteen years. He mentioned that it was related to the "Prajna Paramita Heart Sutra". Yang Anxuan did not know that Master Huiyuan had received his letter. I wonder if I will make an exception and go down the mountain later.
The news that Governor Yang was going to hold a sutra teaching mission in Xiangyang soon spread through the secret guards. Among them, "seeing that the five aggregates are empty, you can survive all the hardships" and "color is not different from emptiness, and emptiness is not different from color. Color is emptiness, and emptiness is color." "These two verses of scripture are regarded as a guide by believers, and they all want to know the entire scripture.
Xi Mansion in the west of Xiangyang City, the contemporary head of the Xi family, Xi Pijiang, is in Jiangling, Jingzhou. He was the ruler of Jingzhou during the time of Wang Chen and Yin Zhongkan. Yin Zhongkan was killed by Huan Xuan, and Xi Pijiang's position as ruler was replaced by , but did not leave Jiangling.
The old house of the Xi family is where his younger brother Xi Pifeng lives. Influenced by Xi Chi Chi, all the Xi family believe in Buddhism.
The Hanfeng Pavilion got its name from the person who used to chisel his teeth while reading in the pond and wrote "Han, Jin, Spring and Autumn" in the pavilion. The pavilion stands beside the pond, with golden chrysanthemums in full bloom, beautiful and quiet, and the scenery is pleasant.
Xi Pifeng put the two copied verses on the table and asked Xi Peng, the chief attendant, "Are these two verses the only ones in this Prajnaparamita Heart Sutra?"
Xi Peng said: "I have been in the West Market these days to inquire about the news. They all say that this scripture was taught by the Buddha in a dream by Governor Yang, so Governor Yang planned to hold a ceremony on the day of Buddha's enlightenment. I heard that Donglin Temple was invited. Master Huiyuan, the eminent monk of Wa Coffin Temple in the capital, and Master Kumarajiva from Chang'an also invited him. Even Wei, Yan and other countries heard that they also sent people to invite him."
Following Xi Pifeng, Xi Peng knew the eminent monk well and clearly understood the information spread by the secret guards.
Xi Pifeng asked again: "Have you ever decided which temple the temple will be held in Xiangyang?"
Xi Peng shook his head and said: "I specifically asked the assistant secretary of the government office. He said that it is still early for the event to be held. Governor Yang is busy organizing the exhibition and has not yet decided on a Buddhist temple."
The fair was scheduled for November 10th, and the city officials and soldiers were very busy. The Xi family had six shops in the West Market, so they naturally knew about it.
During the two treasure auctions last year, Xi's shop made a lot of money because it entered the market early. It also established relationships with merchants from Qin and Yan, and business was nearly 30% better than before.
Regarding the trade fair that Governor Yang wanted to hold, all the merchants in the West City agreed and fully cooperated with the city commander to clean up the city and decorate their appearance. Everyone knew that the opportunity to make money was coming.
Xi Pifeng thought for a while, stood up and ordered: "Prepare the car, I want to go to the Governor's Mansion to visit Governor Yang."...
Jingzhou, Jiangling, the back house of the governor's office, the sound of weeping came from the courtyard, the governor Wei Yongzhi died of illness.
The body was laid to rest in the lobby of the Governor's Mansion to receive condolences from relatives, friends and the common people. Although Wei Yongzhi served as an official in Jingzhou for less than half a year, he cared about the people, built water conservancy projects, and did a lot of practical things for the people under his rule. People came to pay homage in an endless stream.
Xi Bijiang and Wei Yongzhi were old acquaintances. Xi Bijiang had known Wei Yongzhi when he went to Yin Zhongkan for treatment of his cleft lip. When Wei Yongzhi was appointed as the governor of Jingzhou, he made a special trip to Xi's mansion to see him and said that he would recommend him to Liu Yu.
The old friend passed away, Xi Pijiang bowed three times, feeling sad in his heart. Coming with him was his good friend Liu Chigong. When he was in power, Liu Chigong was his companion, and both of them were abandoned by Huan Xuan.
After coming out of the governor's office, Xi Bijiang said to Liu Qi: "Brother Liu, Yu Xin bought some Dukang wine from Runan and went to drink it." Liu Qi Gong liked wine and happily followed Xi Bijiang.
When the wine was half full, Xi Pijiang said, "Please invite the prince to come out to meet the guests."
After a short effort, a young man in plain robes came into the hall to pay his respects.
Liu Qigong, Liu Qigong met Xi Pijiang's nephew and asked in surprise: "Who is this young man? He is a very talented person."
Xi Bijiang stood up and said, "This gentleman is Wang Huilong, the grandson of Lord Yugong, Zuopu She, the Minister of Finance."
Shangshu Zuopu shot Wang Yu, who was the son of Wang Tanzhi, the official official of Zhongshu Ling. Wang Tan's four sons were Wang Kai, Wang Yu, Wang Guobao and Wang Chen. When Wang Chen was appointed governor of Jingzhou, both Liu Qigong and Xi Pijiang served in the government. Speaking of which, he and Xi Pijiang were both former members of the Wang family.
When Huanxuan usurped the throne, Wang Yu gained credibility because he was Huanxuan's brother-in-law, and was appointed Shangshu Zuopshe in the Chu Dynasty. Secondly, Wang Sui was born to the Huan family and was Huanxuan's nephew. He was promoted to Zhongshu Ling. When Liu Yu seized Jiankang and drove away Huan Xuan, Wang Yu and Wang Sui were frightened and united with Wen Sheng (virtual title), the governor of Bingzhou, to plot a rebellion. After the incident was revealed, more than ten members of Wang Yu's family were executed.
Wang Huilong was the son of Wang Yu's eldest son Wang Ji, and he was also on the list of people to be executed. How could he be in Jiangling? Duke Liu Qi didn't have time to think too much. He stood up and bowed his head and said, "It turns out that we are old friends, so your servants should be polite."
Wang Huilong cried and said: "Those who have suffered a catastrophe are very lucky to be able to meet Liu Gong. How dare they be treated as Liu Gong's gift?"
Liu Qigong gave Wang Huilong the seat of honor, but Wang Huilong refused to say anything, so Xi Pijiang ordered someone to set up a seat next to him.
When Wang Huilong sat down, Xi Bijiang said: "Brother Liu, when Liu Yu killed the entire Wang family, Wang Lang was hidden by his family's monk Bin. Three months later, when the situation calmed down, Seng Bin and Wang Lang escaped. I came out of Jiankang to look for Fool, but Fool couldn't bear to see his old friend in trouble, so he hid the prince in his home."
Liu Qigong raised his glass and said: "Seng Bin is a great righteous man, and Brother Xi is kind. I admire you very much. Your Majesty, please live in Jiangling. Your servants and Brother Xi will definitely protect you."
Xi Bijiang saw that Liu Qigong expressed deep sympathy for the Wang family as he expected, and said in a deep voice: "Brother Liu, Wei Yongzhi died of illness, and I foolishly planned to put Wang Lang in charge, gather troops and occupy Jingzhou to fight against Liu Yu, and avenge the Wang family to the court. , I wonder if Brother Liu is willing to help?"
Liu Qi Gong stroked his beard and said thoughtfully: "You and I have already entered the officialdom. It is difficult to achieve success by relying on family music alone. I am not afraid of death. This matter needs to be considered in the long term."
Xi Bijiang said: "Foolishly and secretly negotiated with Luo Xiu (Jianling County Magistrate), and Luo County Magistrate graciously agreed to lead his army to help."
Liu Qigong said happily: "The magistrate of Luo County is willing to help, and this can be done. Wang Teng of Tianmen is an old friend of Wang Governor (Wang Chen). He has lamented the difficulties of the Wang family more than once. If something happens, he will definitely help."
The next day, Xi Pijiang, Liu Chigong, Luo Xiu, and Wang Teng made a blood alliance in the back garden of Xi's house, and elected fifteen-year-old Wang Huilong as the leader of the alliance. They prepared to wait for Wei Yongzhi's coffin to return home, launch an army to seize the governor's mansion, and then close it. At the city gate, orders were sent to all counties to occupy Jingzhou.
In Jingkou, Liu Yu received the news that Wei Yongzhi had died of illness, and quickly ordered Liu Daogui, who was stationed in Xiakou, to lead his troops to Jingzhou to take charge of the situation to guard against changes.
When Xi Pijiang and others learned that Liu Daogui had led his army, they knew that the good opportunity had been lost, so Xi Pijiang and others took their families and left Jiangling and fled to Xiangyang.
When Liu Daogui learned that Xi Pijiang and others wanted to rebel, he quickly sent someone to notify Dangyang Pass guard Yan Zhuang to help arrest them.
Yan Zhuang informed Xi Pijiang and others to cross the border to Xiangyang. Yang Anxuan, Xi Pijiang and Wang Huilong came and sent people to greet them.
"Note: There are many legends about the Laba Festival. This book uses the date of Buddha's enlightenment as needed, as well as stories about expelling evil spirits and commemorating Yue Fei."
