While there are not many words, write it at the front so that more people can see it, so as not to feel "cheated" when you read it later. It also saves me having to post a single chapter explanation in the future.
Water.
This chapter is watery.
Seeing it is the same as not seeing it.
Why doesn't it advance the plot?
Dear gentlemen, is the farming scene also called water?
Let me ask a question, to advance the plot, the protagonist is pretending to be cool, so where is the capital and confidence for him to show off?
At the beginning of the book, the protagonist is at the bottom, and his life is very monotonous. He does not know many things that happen at the top, and he is not qualified to participate. Therefore, his time passes very quickly, because there is really not much in his life that is special. thing.
Sometimes the months go by and I have nothing to write about except training.
Therefore, you can say that the "pace" was very fast at that time, with the protagonist pretending to be awesome one after another.
But the life process is not linear. Different time periods, different platforms, and different statuses.
The current protagonist's official position is in the middle. He has unlocked more life scenes, met more people, and has more things to do. The flow of time will slow down, and the rhythm will inevitably slow down.
Let’s talk about promoting the plot.
I gave an example in my last book: Li Shimin.
His life can be written as a novel, one after another.
But for such a person who is so cool and dense, there are also a lot of extremely slow-paced periods of time during his campaign.
In some wars, he fought against others for seven months and never went to war.
Sometimes, he doesn't have any outstanding episodes for a year or two.
This is what you call "water".
In real life, he would not keep pretending and slapping him in the face.
He had his highlight moments standing center stage.
There was also a stage where he was working hard behind the scenes to practice his internal skills, and no one knew about it.
In fact, most of the time, real life is "water". Even for a person like Li Shimin, who is a bit more relaxed, his real life is still slow-paced.
Regular readers know that when I write a book, I don’t have an outline. I always deduce it based on the existing plot.
Someone in the author group said that a small climax should be arranged in XX words, and a big climax should be arranged in no more than 50,000 words.
As for writing a book, this rhythm can effectively mobilize readers' emotions.
But everything has its advantages and disadvantages. To write it this way, you must sacrifice rationality.
As far as I'm concerned, some innocuous rationalities can be ignored, but some must be paid attention to.
Let me give you an example. In a decisive battle that determines the protagonist's life or failure, the logistics system, weapons, money and food all come out of thin air...
To be honest, I can't accept this unreasonableness at all.
It's so fucked up that you don't even have to consider logistics when fighting a war. Isn't this too open-ended?
I also cheat, but I don’t want to cheat in such an outrageous way.
What I am willing to cheat is usually when something may succeed or fail, or when you may or may not get certain equipment, you may cheat at this time.
Just like the Xuchang arsenal, the equipment in it was historically easily obtained by Wang Mi, a peasant army. Then Wang Mi's refugee army replaced its guns with cannons, and suddenly became prosperous.
For the protagonist to get it, it will not be more difficult than Wang Mi.
Of course, everything has advantages and disadvantages. What will be the consequences of Wang Mi taking these equipment? He was feared by Shi Le and was eventually killed by him.
The protagonist takes the equipment, and there are consequences, that is, he is feared by Sima Yue.
If you want to get something, you have to pay something. How is it possible that there are only advantages and no disadvantages?
Let’s get back to this book.
Have readers forgotten that the main character is only 18 years old?
I have little talent and little knowledge. I wonder how many people since the Wei and Jin Dynasties have been able to serve as county magistrates, prefects, or governors at the age of 18? Very rare. Not even there at all - I haven't read through everyone's biography, if at all, mind you.
Being sent out to be a governor or governor at the age of 18 is a big deal.
I made a distinction myself: small hooks and big hooks.
The ones that work for a very small number of people are called Xiao Gua.
Those that have an effect on the whole are called big hooks, or even super hooks.
An 18-year-old can command 50,000 or even 100,000 people. This has happened in history, but it is actually very rare. But when you are a local political officer, such as a prefect, you challenge the unspoken rules of the entire society, and the stakes are a bit high.
At least you have to pass the age of weakness.
Fighting without considering logistics is a challenge to the physical rules of this plane. It is super invincible. It is so fake that there is no sense of satisfaction at all.
Therefore, before you are twenty years old, don’t think about going abroad.
In this case, I made some deductions.
General background: The Yongjia Rebellion has not yet broken out, and the Western Jin Dynasty officials still have the power to suppress it.
The first way: resign and go home to run your own business.
Result: Without official status, you cannot protect your land or tribe, and others will come to ask you to collect taxes.
The less valuable you are to Sima, the more his men will come over and try to embezzle your property.
In the end, losing both sides is the best outcome. It is more likely that we can only run away and all the accumulation will be reduced to zero.
The second way: pull troops to rebel.
There are actually a thousand private soldiers, and by coercing some tribes and roping in some imperial soldiers, under the best circumstances, we can probably draw six to seven thousand troops.
What's the ending?
If Sima Yue sends five thousand Xianbei cavalry over, you will be finished and your whole army will be wiped out.
The third way: don’t rebel, just wander around.
So, with so many troops, I am afraid they will run out of food as soon as they leave the capital.
How many of these thousands of people can capture Wubao to get food? Even the slightly larger ones can't be taken down, and it's not worth exchanging the lives of elite soldiers for the lives of Bu Qu, bankers, or even old farmers, healthy women, and children on the top of the city.
A few teenagers and a bucket of gold juice can kill dozens or twenty silver spear soldiers. Do you feel bad? Loss or not? They are good at field battles, and using them to attack cities is the biggest waste.
Moreover, this will still be suppressed.
Now the Western Jin Dynasty officials still have enough power. Shi Le started his own business for the first time, but was beaten down to only 18 horses and went to the Huns.
Will the protagonist of this book also join the Huns?
So, he can't go anywhere now.
This is the inevitable price he has to pay for a person from a military background to climb to his current position.
Whatever you gain, you must lose something.
The protagonist of a book has his own personality, values, knowledge accumulation, way of doing things, and modes of thinking about problems.
Some people would say that it is not up to the author how to write.
This is both true and false.
The author does have considerable authority, but he does not write freely.
What the author writes is ultimately about the ups and downs of the protagonist in such an era. There are many things to consider, and it is not just the protagonist who wants to do whatever he wants.
Some of the protagonist’s thoughts are thoughts about a certain process or stage in his life. I wrote them out, but they may not be correct or they may come true.
The protagonist is also learning about this era. Different age groups have different accumulations and their ideas will also change.
The protagonist of the last book is a growth protagonist.
I didn't master much military knowledge at the beginning, but I continued to learn and practice repeatedly throughout my life, and gradually improved.
At the beginning, his views were very upright, but slowly he was tainted by the times. He changed from a person who was too embarrassed to deal with criminals with his family, to a person who won the battle and captured the enemy's wife and daughter.
I'm actually surprised by the word "character".
In a person's life, there will be huge changes in personality, outlook on life, etc. during the various stages of adolescence, youth, middle age, adulthood, and old age. Can a person's personality remain unchanged from beginning to end?
From the beginning, he was "rigorous", "cold" and "ruthless". After more than ten or even decades, he experienced countless things, his experience was different, his status was different, and his knowledge reserve was different, but he still maintained the same attitude. Previous persona.
Let’s talk about the protagonist of this book. He has martial arts and military strategy (which can be understood as a gift from heaven), but he doesn’t have anything else. It has nothing to do with the previous book. His personality, family, and experience are all different.
He is a young man with modern memory + martial arts and military strategy, a brand new character, and a different personality - compared to the previous book, the protagonist's personality in this book is obviously unstable. This can be seen when killing people, and he is more impulsive. , sometimes he is extremely courageous, after all, he even dares to seduce the empty and lonely sister-in-law.
Finally, let me briefly summarize. The author's pen can indeed write a lot of things, but it also has some great limitations.
After the author has given the initial settings (the protagonist’s origin, abilities, personality, etc.), it is time to simulate and deduce it.
The characters in the book will have their own trajectory under the intertwining influence of their own personalities, abilities, background and customs of the times.
This book has no outline, I only have a vague direction in my mind, and it all relies on current deductions.
It's like playing a game. When there is a fork in the road ahead, the author peeks at the secret book and chooses a path for the character to increase his success rate, but it is impossible to create a shortcut out of thin air.
Or there has been something similar in history, and it was at the same time, but this kind of good thing may not be the turn of the protagonist. As the author, I used my authority to give it to him.
The rest is all by deduction.
Shao Xun is a character, and I am a player and administrator. I can open backdoors for him, but I cannot ignore the running program of the game.
As the book develops to this point, everything the protagonist has done is the best he can do under the current circumstances.
When he opened a base, it was the best solution out of desperation.
These will slowly become his accumulation and continue to play a greater role as time goes by.
Have you ever seen the main character refining magic weapons in Xianxia novels? This is the magic weapon of growth.
Readers who see this probably know how I write, right?
A large group of Lu authors came to the starting point. They had a clear outline of the emotional rhythm and the assembly line operation. The exciting points came one after another, almost flying.
My book is different from theirs, so I’ll just write this much.
