It will be officially launched on June 1, 2022. First of all, I would like to thank all the book friends for their strong support. Then, of course, I also need to thank the editors, chief editors and leaders of Reading Literature who supported this novel.

This novel was originally conceived by the author for a long time. Due to the nature of my work, I never have time to write or write. This time, Shanghai was locked down for February, which gave me just enough time to ponder, settle, and formulate ideas. Originally, online novels with Spring and Autumn themes were relatively niche. So, I actually had some awareness before I started writing. After all, historical novels are inherently unpopular, but ancient pre-Qin novels are not about Qin or the Warring States period, and they are even more unpopular among the unpopular.

In fact, the author never expected that this novel would reach the sixth channel before it was put on the shelves. This shows that novels with "Spring and Autumn" themes are actually not as cool as imagined.

This is indeed a gratifying thing, not only because the author's novel has been proved. Likewise, the author is also delighted by this phenomenon.

As we all know, Chinese civilization lasts for five thousand years. In the next two thousand years, starting from the Qin Dynasty, although all dynasties had their own characteristics, they were ultimately based on the Qin system. In the Warring States period before Qin, the reforms carried out by various schools were actually previews and explorations of the Qin system.

Therefore, the Spring and Autumn Period, as the precursor to the Warring States Period, was indeed a very special era. It is also the only clearly recorded history of the country in the state of enfeoffment in our Chinese civilization. Therefore, in the eyes of most people, the Spring and Autumn Period is inevitably a little alienated, a little different, and may even be different from our inherent "concepts".

The reason why the author chose this novel title is to highlight this difference.

Many book friends will actually ask: Is the protagonist not the king? So what? Be a saint?

In fact, to be honest, the author doesn’t know how to answer. Because, "the bottom overcomes the top" is the characteristic of this era. The tug-of-war between kingly power and ministerial power, as well as the competition between various ministerial powers, is the main theme of this era. The so-called "eight men dance in the court", the "kings" of this era are by no means limited to their "status", but those who truly have the leading power in the conquest of ritual and music. You can say that Ji Pingzi in the later period was the king of Lu. You can also say that Zichan is the holy king of Zheng. You can even say that the so-called Jin Kingdom is actually the United Nations of six little kings.

And what about the protagonist? As a person who adheres to the concept of reviving Zhou rites, he will eventually become a "king without a king". This is the characteristic of this era.

The author, in the days to come, will spare no effort to continue to compose this epic historical epic for book lovers. I also hope that all book friends can continue to accompany the author in the coming days and walk through this wonderful life of the protagonist in the book.

In addition, a large number of stories corresponding to historical events will appear later in the novel. Just like the "Legendary Chu Storm" and "Meeting in Pingqiu" in the first volume. They will also appear in large numbers in later chapters.

Book friends, please stay tuned.
