They protect the followers of the demon god Sheogorath, thereby demonstrating their power within the realm. In order to compete for our Lord's favor, they will attack anyone who resists our Lord, and sometimes even turn against him. It is reasonable to infer that they voluntarily performed their duties on Shivering Island.
Characteristics and society.
The 'Golden Saint' is easily associated with an image of angelic elegance and selflessness. Ironically, although the Golden Saint's appearance fits this image, his behavior is completely different. The race of saints is proud, arrogant, irritable, and very cruel in their executions. They undoubtedly consider themselves 'above the rest of the island' and make no secret of their disdain when interacting with others.
The 'Dark Seducer' is similar, except for the appearance, the image is completely inconsistent with the name. Although they also show off their power within the country, they are more patient and often self-reflective. They behave very humbly when interacting with mortals and are very patient with 'lesser races'.
In fact, 'Golden Saint' and 'Dark Tempter' are the titles given by outsiders. Although both races know these names and respond when heard, they have their own names for their own species: 'Auriel' and 'Mazken (succubus)'. Maybe the demons don't care what the lower races call them, or they may find these names interesting. War and invasion.
The inhabitants of the Shivering Isles know not to anger the Golden Saints and Dark Tempters. They are very fond of conflict and war, and anyone who dares to disobey will be punished immediately. But just guarding the Shivering Island cannot satisfy their desire for war, so even though the places they are stationed in have almost no intersection, they often fight with each other. This behavior may not just be for catharsis, but to compete for the appreciation of the mad god Sheogorath. If either side can defeat the other, it can gain an advantage and control the entire territory. The battle for Cylarne is particularly worth studying. The two sides fought year after year and remained at a stalemate. Does such constant fighting sharpen the abilities of both parties, or does it waste each other's energy in vain? Since there is no winner in this battle, why doesn't the Mad God Sheogorath personally come forward to solve it?
Religion and ritual.
Little is known about the social customs of the Golden Saints and Dark Tempters. They are unwilling to disclose matters within the clan, especially the mysterious process of returning to the territory when a clan member unfortunately dies.
As we all know, the Golden Saint and the Dark Tempter cannot be killed as demons. The souls of the demons will be recalled into the darkness of the Annihilation Realm, and can return to the territory in physical form again.
